But they're all really similar in the context of these reviews. They don't review the game itself.
I like AC a lot, but it leans even more into the combat, so I'm not sure it'd be worth taking the time.
@@triphazard2906 You're right, but i also think it goes more in depth with the narrative and the characters, including batman who's psyche is definitely more looked into. And about that combat, i'd say that the combat has is a massive upgrade from asylum, so much so that I think the Batman games (AC and forward) has one of the only combat systems that watchers can enjoy. And the bosses are also a lot better (especially mr. Freeze). But in the end it's up to her, I think she should try watching AC and if she also doesn't like that, then we can give up on her liking thise games because the rest definitely won't convince her.

Make no mistake, I have fondness for AC. I played the shit out of this game, and it had by far and away the best challenge mode of the series. However, to say this game is the overall best of the Arkham franchise is... questionable to say the least. I can see a rational person believing that if he/she doesn't at all mind the poor narrative and some of the gamey and anemic elements put into the otherwise great and refined gameplay. The armored enemies in combat and predator was a goofy and artificial way to try to make players use automatic/loud takedowns. The titans of Arkham Asylum were simple yet viscerally satisfying enemies to fight. But in AC you just perma-stun them and mash square while Batman's head and shoulders embarrassingly clip into him. Not all boss fights were winners, either. Grundy was a pseudo boss fight puzzle reminiscent of the lamest parts of God of War 2 (an even more overrated video game sequel), and the actual one-on-one part of the fight with Ra's was a wholly inferior version of the battle with Poison Ivy in AA. By far the shortest campaign of the four main games. Everything involving Catwoman was mediocre at best and came in strange intervals.
But the story... This is why Paul Dini wasn't hired back to pen Rocksteady's third game (or even the Harley Quinn's Revenge DLC). The writing is like sub-par fan-fiction (if I ever read fan-fiction). Overtly nonsensical plot holes, laughably contrived events and cringe-inducingly juvenile dialogue throughout. This is the norm, not the exception. It's thematically bankrupt as it pretends to be epic and profound with (admittedly) stirring music. Look, every Arkham game has some contrivances, but they're nowhere near as bad nor as widespread as in AC. Just about every aspect of the main story can be meticulously pulled apart. It's not in any way comparable to Dini's fantastic contributions to Batman: The Animated Series and its feature films. This is not the Mask of the Phantasm of gaming. Arkham City is like the Batman: Hush story only much worse.

I found that show in the top TV series of all time on IMDB, now that I'm done watching it, I can confirm it's really damn good!! Can't believe I missed it lol

When it comes to the Arkham Series, Arkham Asylum had the best atmosphere/setting in my opinion. The pacing was also great.
also the best predator sections imo. later games have many stealth sections outside and give you too many useful gadgets

I think you’d love both seasons of Batman: Telltale! Some of the action scenes require planning, you get to be a detective at multiple parts, and it shows the internal conflict of being Batman and Bruce Wayne flawlessly.

Arkham Asylum and City are equal in quality, even though Arkham City improved on every aspect.
@@ataridc where I am one of the few that LOVED Origins, I do think City was better but the former is better than Asylum.
I literally can relate to this! My boyfriend played Arkham City while me being a backseat gamer and when he played, his voice start getting low and says "I'm Batman" everytime he kick some villain's ass.

LOVE the character. She’s sassy as hell and I love it. The plot is good enough albeit predictable, but imo the interest is more how Bayonetta reacts to the plot rather than the plot itself. The graphics are actually pretty lovely, but the camera kinda ruins it a little at times.
The only thing I’d say I dislike watching is the combat. Beat-em-up is just super boring after the first few fights, but everything else is fine. It is hilarious watching him pull a new combo off only to see Bayonetta breakdancing with bullet heels.

MoBeeLex Not quite. May just be that platformers aren’t my cup of tea since I get very board of watching the same sequence over and over again, especially since the same thing happened with Celeste. I will give Ori the art and music, however.
@@flaminghorsebackrider6969 It's fun and fluid enough that I totally got into it even though it's not usually my cup of tea either. Compared to Hollow Knight you mention, it's way easier which helps. I wanted a fun exploration game in a beautiful world with a touching story that didn't take me 40 hours to finish, and I got it!
Aesahethr And you know what, I’m starting to see that now. When I was shown Ori it was while he was also in the beginning of HK so I didn’t realize that one was way shorter than the other. That I can appreciate.
However, despite agreeing HK is much more frustrating to watch than Ori, the only reason it won me over was the boss fights. I loved watching and seeing the pattern on nearly every single one. The only exceptions were Hornet and Grimm, but those two look likes dancing so it was still so engaging. Oh, and the grubs were adorable.
Ori...has platforming. And it is really nice, just something was missing. I might give it another shot, but I doubt he’ll be playing it anytime soon since he had beat it even before he showed me. To RUclips!

This made us smile a few time..... loved it. Still feel the Batman games hold up amazingly well. Rocksteady just did amazing. An kudos to you both for putting in the Animated Batman as honestly tho I have enjoyed every live action film..... the animated series is by FAR the best Batman to me (read best as in closest to the comic character and in some ways even better).

@@PutingPinoy No. Knightfall Protocol is when you 100% the game. Complete all Most Wanted missions and solve all riddles. The final ending is shown afterwards

Since that movie is supposedly focusing more on the detective aspect of Batman (and on Bruce as a Hooman Bean). Also if anyone has any doubts about Pattinson, watch some of his films where is doesn't play a shiny vampire ;) he's such a good actor and perfectly fits the role of this young, inexperienced Batman who only seeks ... Vengeance. It's gonna be so good! Maybe you guys @GirlfriendReviews going to make a review about it? :)

Origins is still vastly better than most games in the genre. Great boss fights.
I just finished playing Half Life 2 again for the first time since it came out and was amazed by how well the gameplay has held up considering how long ago it came up, it was so fun!... most of the time. But at times it was a bit of a slog and I had to push myself to finish it. Would love to know how you found it and if you managed to finish it

The scarecrow sections the game does well enough to show batman's deeps motivations and I would say it goes futher to show that under that is fear i.e (scarecrow segments) but also there is strength and an unbreakable will of man whose world was once turn upside down
