Gotta say Keith, you have a bit more spring in your step then I've seen in the last 3-4 videos. Passing that stone seems to have really helped! Stay well - Fair seas and following winds Sailor!
I have raised two children, and am participating in raising 3 grandchildren. Your comment "And what will that do for you" is right on the money (Pun intended). Had that discussion with my kids. Got the same eye rolls. They both now wish they had listened a bit closer. When your career choice is the same as 100K other peoples, and the job market only needs 10k of that area, you will probably be wearing a paper hat at your work place. Go online and look at the want ads, look at the employment specialists postings etc. And take a close look at what several authors have managed on a certain very large online seller. While most fail (True of most authors) the ones who do write good books have been pretty darn successful doing self publishing. Great videos, great life, enjoy.
Just some friendly advice for anna. I have to say something to consider as well for deciding what to go to college for outside of just getting a degree in english, look at publishing companies that you would want to work at and the type of degrees they ask for. These days it is not just about having one area, there are multiple type of major/minor degrees that will also give you business skills or other types of tools that you can apply in many positions. I had a friend who wanted to go into publishing and was unable to due to the fact that she only had an english degree. And you study how other people wrote and the origin of the language, combining it with arts management or something could lead you to a be a more well rounded applicant. Love the vlogs and one day hope to live on a boat as well.
I love watching Big Daddy slay it on the board. He’s a total sleeper out there. Meaning you wouldn’t expect him to hop on the board and be the best rider out there. Soooo cool!!
I can see Jack growing up to be just like his father like knowing how to fix everything. Also I see Keith and Jack look like they like to compete in some things.😂
Just started episode 98. I've been doing the binge playlist wanted Keith to know I know what it's like to have kidney stones and God bless you man that was a boulder! Unbeknownst to you folks you are my adopted family I have been watching you for some time now it's taking me awhile to get through all the years of growing up but wow has it been an experience! Thank you for your openness your honesty and candid lifestyle.
Because it shows through in everything you folks do, I already could have told you this: Keith, YOU, bud, are a "my kind of people guy." Q&A reaffirmed/proved it. Thanks for being real and humorous at the same time.
I love watching this totally normal, decent and amazing family work and play together during their adventure of life. You people are the best family on RUclips.
Bad Jesus the best family should vote in a democratic election. If only you knew how tiered the rest of the world is of this banana -republic that Trump has turned US into.
If you have trouble dousing the Kite, a trip line attached to the tack snap shackle will let it fly out of the front of the spinaker sheet and easy to douse rather than having those tack lines flying about the deck. Love the videos, its a great group.
I became a subscriber after this video. Love Keith’s no-nonsense approach and his openness about pressing buttons to get a feel for them as a person. I’ve had a lot of people de”cidedly choose not to want to “hang out with me anymore because of my political beliefs, and while that’s a sad and manipulative approach, I’m ok with terminating the relationship. Similarly, I used to watch SLV, but who they were when they started and who they’ve become is very different. I’m all for growing as a person, but what they’ve evolved into doesn’t align with why I started watching them to begin with. RUclips’s algorithms must’ve noticed I wasn’t watching them anymore and I started getting recommendations of other sailors, including yours, and now I can’t stop watching your channel. I’m so glad I found your channel and look forward to binge watching your videos from the beginning. Stay safe 🙏🏼
Hey Anna as a third year who’s changed their major twice (and is thinking about changing it again) don’t worry about the major right now take all your general ed’s and I promise one or two of them will ignite something that’ll give you an idea of what you want to do. And if not it sounds like your parents are all for you pursuing something outside of school. Dont stress you’re still young
Great episode, as usual. I've now come to the conclusion Keith and I are a lot alike when it comes to socializing. Although I don't drink a lot, I occasionally enjoy a beer to two now and then. I could see me having a couple High Life's, and Keith with his Dr. Pepper, sizing up and laughing at other people. Oh yeah, "Trick or Treat" Z-Crew!! Thanks for sharing this weeks video with us. Have fun be safe Z-Crew.
One of your best yet. Been sharing your videos with my children. They all come back with the same comments. Apparently you and I are identical twins, with the same opinions, appearance and outlook. Plus water sports and boating as regular life. I only regret we didn’t take the final step you did and make it a full time thing. But I can live it vicariously through you and your family. Hugely enjoyable, thank you for sharing.
I saw another video of a couple sailing *from* NZ (can't remember who), and it was NOT a joy ride. Waves coming into the cockpit, filling the bilges. Only video I saw that gave you a real appreciation for the size of the waves. And if it looked scary on video, I can only imagine what it was like onboard. Here's hoping you guys get the 'other' 50% and have fair seas all the way. But keep everything battened down just in case! Thank God for today's technology that makes finding that 'window' much easier! BTW, great job on the AC! way to hack the system for the family's comfort!
Not so much cringing on your boat, a whole lot of fun though. Love how diverse your kids are. Anna’s search for a college and then a career is so universal with the rest of the world. Hope she can get through that Spanish class OK. After all, there seems to be a lot more of that being spoken than English in America! Those shots of you wake boarding were quite impressive, especially since you are not a tiny guy! Oh yeah, early in this posting it looked you were showing off a kidney stone. So glad you passed that sucker because I have been there and done that more times than I like to remember! Really enjoyed your Q & A session.
Spent my life as a fariar and showing cutters, now I'm cruising on a 27' Pacific seacraft. I relate to you more than any other sailing channel. Hope to meet you one day
I ababsolutely love your husbands sense of humor and his bluntness. Thank you for posting this vlog and I truly love your Q&A in your vlogs. God Bless and smooth sailing

What you explained at the end of the Q & A is so on point. In social situations people become like pack animals and like attracts like. It’s not a bad thing however it can be lonely if you don’t quite fit into one group or the other. Also your point about girls and boys is so true. When I first had children I was naively gender neutral until I had my son and he was just an animal compared to my daughter. A cute animal but so rough and tumble. It really opened my eyes that the whole men from mars and women from venus reference is correct. The 14,15,16 year old high school girl politics is nasty and one of the most obvious differences. Boys will punch each other and get over it usually, while girls can and do hold those grudges til maturity and beyond. It’s great that your kids are missing that. Thankyou for your content, your episodes end too quickly, would love them to be longer but I understand you need to sleep at some stage. 🤿Thanks Zatara Family.
Miguel my children attended a normal school and I don’t see any opportunities that are greater, just different to traveling the world on a sv. If I had to do it again I would rather travel with my children than have them participate in conventional schooling through their later years.

Thank you Guys so so much for yet another spectacular episode in the life of you beautiful Folks. Can you Imagine how spectacularly wonderful the world would be If only we all could have been born to parents such as Renee and Keith? Enjoy being hunkered down for the next few weeks Guys 💜💜💜

Just caught up on the show after being somewhere with no internet for a couple of months. With regards to kidney stones (of which I have suffered and know your pain!), according to a friend of mine who is a chemist (pharmacist in US parlance), Vitamin C dissolves kidney stones, you must take and awful lot of it daily (I took 10,000mg) but for me it worked. You cannot OD on Vitamin C anything surplus to requirements it dealt with in the usual way! It sorted out my problem, hope it can stop your's from recurring. All the best to you and yours. Fair winds.
No doubt about it, Keith's the man! The young fella looks like he will be a chip off the old block too ☺. Well, you're a great family tbh and living a great lifestyle going by these vids. Keep up the great content.
Thank you for your amazing videos ! I'm a french guy watching you from Paris and I love your family ! (And thanks for showing temperature in degree celsius, that's easier :)
I really enjoy your videos. I just watched Ep 98. I worked 30 years in South and Central America. A lot of the time I was in the boonies. I found a book entitled " Where there's no Doctor".. It's great for people who have no medical knowledge. It's written in simple English, not medical jargon. I covers all kinds of first aid. e.g. how to deliver s baby, sew up a cut, fix a dislocated shoulder, splint broken bones, treat infections, bug and snake bites. You can get it on Amazon, new or used. It's available in several languages. Keep up the good videos! Sincerely, Larry Wilson, Mobile, Alabama
I love you guys, I sit here in my lazy - boy and live vicariously once a week!! Ona wva. All my life!! Love all the cruising!! I was worried about the kidney stone...whew! Omg...question and answers are very 😂 HUMOROUS!!
LOved the vlog, of course, yet this Q & A was fabulous. !! I think we would get along great, Keith, as I like being real and not sooo much small talk. I mean, let's just get to it !!
First of all we LOVE your channel ❤. Could yall talk about the different prices of things such as fuel, eats, car rentals in all the different ports you stop in. Thanks so much and again Love watching yall ..
Keith, great to see you repping the Guantanamo hat! Patrice retired TODAY, October 31 from NCIS so its captain’s school for her and then enjoying retirement! Great episode like always, we look forward to Thursday’s with Zatara.
Very cool that you would wakeboard in Grapevine Texas, I live in Keller Texas and have a pontoon boat in a slip at Scotts Landing Marina on Lake Grapevine.
The psycho boat reference was to funny. Years back, when the kids were still in high school (not gonna say how long ago), we planned, prepped and saved for a two week camping trip. This was a "Primitive" camp at a favorite camp ground with an uncontrolled airstrip. It was a fly in, an RC "Fly IN", a carnival, a music fest/vaudeville show each night (I got rave reviews for my audience participation as a wash tub base player and the kids have a story to tell) and an all around good damn two weeks. We have a chapter dedicated to us in a book written by a cross country cyclist called "The ROBO Campers". We were not the Psychos, but came close. We had in tow, mind you I had planned this for a year and spent three days setting up the "Tent City", eight neighborhood kids (plus ours) and their parents/grand parents that stopped in day to day. The Cross country cyclists just sort of migrated to our "little" camp ( their were 10 total, one couple from Norway, one from the Netherlands, one from Germany one from South Carolina and two "Fruit Loops" from Virginia) and the language barrier was daunting, but not insurmountable. My piss poor Spanish, German and a bit of Latin went a long way. I have traveled around this old globe a few times. As a blonde haired, blue eyed "American" I have been in the "Minority" in a lot of countries. Those were in my young and single years. That one vacation reignited my love for the world and gave all of those kids a wanderlust/wonder lust that they still talk about today. People are just people, all shapes, colours and creed! When brought together around a camp fire... We are ALL one and the same!
You are correct about the passage to NZ, one of the more dangerous passages for cruisers so choose well! I have sailed that route 6 times, half the time I got my ass handed to me even with picking the best weather window I could. Makes you start thinking about a condo in Arizona lol. It's a challenging piece of water, it can definitely separate the real sailors from the "not so much" & don't get caught on a lee shore off NZ with high winds, many have met with disaster trying to make port that way. Good luck, keep a tight ship!
Love your home video! Made me smile to see you and your family out on a grand adventure and doing it together,. good teamwork. Thank you for sharing your personal adventure that on you tube.
Keith in your diving are you and your family PADA or NAUI? Do you pay attention to the Dive Tables? Do you ever set up for mandatory decompression stops should you make a dive past 130 feet?
Great video. You guys keep it real when it's time for Q & A. We hope to be a sailing channel one day. We are just never2old adventures taking adventure as it comes our way. Until our courses cross, fair winds and full sails. Jack
It was interesting watching your passage to New Zealand. You left Tonga while New Zealand had strong winds up north and arrived here just after another storm just passed. I’d say that you guys had perfect timing. If you arrived a week later I’m pretty sure you’d have experienced strongish winds.
"Here's to you and here's to me and friends we'll always be, but if by chance we disagree, the hell with you and here's to me." It's all good Keith. Life would be very boring if we'll all thought a like. You guys have it going on. My father was killed when I was 12. You are the center of your kid's universe. Any kid would be thrilled to have you are their dad.
That dingy of yours really can pull people along fast. Good stuff. I think you were a great wake boarder in the year 2000 . That was great. You are still at it so that is good. You have a wonderful family . I hope your daughter does not pick a useless degree to go after but instead looks at jobs that she might get if she gets a degree. Perhaps she should think about a skilled trade even one that involves sailing or being on a ship. She likely could quickly rise up in the ranks on a merchant ship like a cruise ship if she took the courses for that. Something for her to think about. Farming is ultra important as well.
I totally understand having AC. few years ago, I went to Miami to get my captain's license on a cat and went almost a week without air: in September, it's still pretty hot. I still loved the experience and crossed that off my bucket list.

I want to see mama bear putting up and down sails while the kids video, not because im judging just because i think it will be fun to watch. I work a full time job plus own my own business and watching you all makes me feel free with you. Love you all from Australia xxx
Thanks for the snap-shot of the music and scene at the beachside bar/restaurant. Just that brought a wave of relaxation. "Let it float away."
Thank you Guys so so much for yet another spectacular episode in the life of you beautiful Folks.
Can you Imagine how spectacularly wonderful the world would be If only we all could have been born to parents such as Renee and Keith?
Enjoy being hunkered down for the next few weeks Guys 💜💜💜
the video is well put together, the flow between one scene to another is smooth and the choice of music that accompany these scenes just floats away...like a boss!!
Down to Earth Family...That’s the main ingredient to your successful channel..y’all could have a 10’ canoe and I’d still watch

You guys are legends, such a sweet and amazing family.
This is all I want in life and more!!! Safe sailing, much love from SC, USA
Love the show and love watching your family! Reminds me so much of mine living in Nashville. You guys keep being you!!
I've been missing the island time...loved seeing your family stroll Musket Cove! Good luck on the AC ⛵👍
Pretty nice wakeboarding skills and sweet boat. I’m guessing a late 90’s Nautique Super Sport. That hull is a classic and one of my favorite wakes.
Love the old school video of Keith wake boarding, what a stud
Dad is hilarious! 🤣 Your family is awesome and your vids are the bomb❣️⚓️🛥👍
I am still laughing!! Very funny and superb Q and A...keep it up.
Your candor is a breath of fresh air....especially coming outta California! I did not vote either but will definitely do so next year! Sail on!

Thank you so much for sharing your lives with us.
Excellent Video TY and Awesome Family!
Fun episode, all the best in kiwiland! Will be watching for your updates! Thanks, Andrew
Kieth, I think you are a riot! The two of us hanging out would be hilarious. I like your attitude! Keep being you!
Great video , love watching with my family every thursday .
Renee Bravo Zulu to all the work you have done on your channel. Any pro editor could not have done any better.
I love how Finn is always picking on that guitar. We share the same addiction buddy! 😎👍🏼👍🏼
One of the BEST Q&A's ever! 😁🤗
we need at least 2 episode per week. As always, great video & great content!! keep it up guys.love from Malaysia
Keith, Do you have the B and G forward looking sonar? Do you think it would see a sunk shipping container in time to take action?
I totally understand having AC. few years ago, I went to Miami to get my captain's license on a cat and went almost a week without air: in September, it's still pretty hot. I still loved the experience and crossed that off my bucket list.
