I once heard Hariyama is Ryan Gosling's favourite Pokémon, it is not surprising at all that it is indeed the absolute best and most dominating force in the rich environment of adv overused. Not even the mighty Roselia can catch up to this fabulous beast.

Hariyama is one of the best pokemon ever made, it looks amazing(its shiny is cool too)the name is super cool, great moves and some of the best abilities a fighting pokemon could ask for. Now we got Iron Hands too which is just amazing too!
all my homies love hairy mama - shiny colours are pretty sexy too which is a very important aspect of teambuilding. here are some of my thoughts on yama; One aspect I really value is its ability to switch into an unknown Tyranitar without fear, which can only really be done otherwise by the likes of Milotic, Suicune and Swampert (you'll goin Swampert? Hidden Powa Grass Bitch). Yama can force switches / guarantee pressure with knock and while Milo and Suicune would probably force a switch in this situation, these options are probably going to sap your momentum (hypno Milo ftw?) if your opponent has options (which they probably do). Otherwise, you'd have to do some pivoting / protecting to scout its set, which can be a bit risky (coverage, dd). You still need an actual rock resist with Yama (preferably two) but with Wish (and hopefully spin) support you can functionally counter any non-punch Tyranitar. Its unusual stat distribution lends itself well to being a bulky attacker and all round cool mon - it can be defensively ev'd to eat pretty much anything and Pokémon like this are pretty fun to EV. I generally prefer Adamant (even on defensive) because: tl;dr; maths - needs 316 Atk to OHKO 252HP TTar w/ Stab Brick Break; 48+ or 160 EVs - the + nature here essentially gives 112 EVs thanks to its high base attack (120); a defensive nature (with maxed EVs; something something HP 1.2 ratio : defences) is equivalent to 84 EVs here (base 60s). You trade a little bulk for the KO guarantee (and 2HKO out of sand on Blissey) but the game and teambuilding is complicated - that amount of bulk could theoretically be the difference in a game and the guaranteed KO might matter, but is basically invalidated when a spike is added to the mix. It also means using brick break, which is a blessing and a curse; accuracy but the power and crit can be very useful. Finally, the synergy with Wish Mence that you touched on here and went over in the Star team analysis is awesome - Yama effectively resists Ice and can knock on a water, pressures Blissey, handles / can help to handle TTar. Intimidate and Wish are valuable tools, helping you pivot around and giving Yama longevity, with Toxic / Protect helping the long game. I think this pairing is awesome - Hariyama isn't seen too often but has some very valuable niches. Mence usually stars in an offensive role but its pseudo-legendary stats, useful ability and wide movepool serve to make it an interesting and, most importantly, viable defensive choice; Pokémon at its best.

Teams up well with TSS, checks TSS, shreks Bliss, Tar, Gar (with HP Ghost), can deal with setup sweepers with whirlwind, and more. All this would make it a pretty good Poke, but with KO on top of that, it's just a solid option for many teams.
Could we get some fun teams of how a pro would design "mono gym leader" teams in the best way, that they have just a little competitive success? I really wonder if a e.g. mono water team could be successful (even if uts just a little)
