I agree with some of the other commenters here, while you don't feel the impact of her being reunited with her best friend as much, you do feel more of the confusion and uncertainty that Carol is feeling in that moment not really recognizing this person beyond the small bits from the file and maybe brief memory flashes. It's not a strong emotional moment for her, because this person is basically a stranger to her. You're supposed to see the juxtaposition between their super emotional response to her arrival, and Carol's more reserved stoic response, and with that kind of realize what was stolen from her.
This is by far the most nuanced description of Carol's headspace I've come across and it makes total sense. I know it's not a competition, but some people just watch movies better than others, lol. So thank you kind stranger for this. It's resolved some of my misgivings about this movie (kind of like when you realize Hayden Christensen was emulating Mark Hamill's performance in the Star Wars movies).
Another good call back from that movie to keep in mind for no particular reason: Back in captain America winter soldier when cap met Sam, his first repeated words to Sam were: “on your left”. Just sayin. No real reason for sayin it.
I can understand this movie being jarring timeline wise but The Emergencies Only communicator (as far as we know) wasn’t activated until now. I’m sure Carol noticed the results of the snap but wouldn’t know it’s origin until Fury paged her. The studio timeline for movie releases was probably why Captain Marvel got one movie so far. It was filmed after Endgame was.. the reason Stan Lee was the Marvel intro. Love your reactions to the MCU journey! 💕👍
Also that shows Fury felt in control of the New York situation - and after more context from secret invasion (ignoring the later dumb plot elements) it really adds a lot of depth and power to his character.
Love the chemistry between Brie and Jackson, they’re so good together and her chemistry with the actress playing Monica is really good too And what I like about this film in particular is considering we’ve had many origin stories, they do something different enough with it Goose is an amazing addition to the film and I love that Fury is a cat person The whole jumping in the middle story was a good direction to go too, sort of similar to what A New Hope did when that came out
Fun fact: the cat is cgi when brie larson (carol) is in the same scene because she has an cat allergie. The scenes when the cat is alone or other actors its real
It makes sense that she would be this powerful, as she is basically a walking infinity stone. Also she would notice half the universe's citizens disappearing, but how would she know what happened?
she probably received the signal from Fury at the same time that the blip happens and go straight to earth, then the remain avengers told her what happen
People tend to believe the events in ‘Infinity War’ went on for quite some time. The entire battle on earth only lasted a half hour to an hour, then the snap happened. The universe is a big place and Captain Marvel could have been anywhere when she got the emergency message from Fury. She showed up very quickly at Avenger’s HQ.
The first watch if this one is usually not the best. It gets better on rewatches..I think we're too distracted by the flash and the deaging to really follow the story. A lot of people are put out by how emotionless Carol is, but once you pay attention to the back story laid out, it makes a lot more sense. She was raised by abusive parents who had strict interpretations of what being a girl meant. Then she joined the military, where women historically recieved loads of abuse for even the slightest emotional outburst. Then she was kidnapped and put into the Kree military where she was continually counseled to repress her emotions. It was like a drumbeat in the show. Unfortunately it does make it hard to connect with the characters the first time through
Since you mentioned it, there was one Superman video game that had the best idea how to deal with the fact that Superman is basically unable to be hurt. It was the Superman Returns tie-in game, and Superman didn't get a health bar: Metropolis did. So you had to stop the disaster or the bad guy or whatever without letting the city and the people get beat up too badly. It was a very good idea, in a mostly mediocre game.
@juanbarrera @oblivion1971 it's still the most lame way they could have chosen for Fury to lose his eye.. Especially after the weight of his lines regarding this in CA: Winter Soldier.
JIM STARLIN was the writer / artist who created Thanos, Gamora, Drax… and wrote them into this epic tale with Captain Marvel, The Avengers, and Adam Warlock (who you’ll see much later). A great debt is owed to him for these stories. Captain Marvell was originally a male figure when I was reading the comic. The change works great in this new era of Marvel. ….although there was a MS. MARVEL comic, too…. I lost track of what happened… I’m guessing MS. MARVEL IS CAPTAIN MARVEL (Carol Danvers). All leads to END GAME… which is EPIC…. Always look forward to your reactions!
Ms Marvel (Carol Danvers) becomes Captain Marvel in the comics when the original Captain Marvel (Mar Vell, male known on earth as Walter Lawson) dies of Cancer, this happened in the 80's
So think about Fury seeing the initial reports on Tony Stark and the Iron Man armor, and the entire time there's a Flerkin hanging out in his office. No wonder he tells Tony "You think you're the only superhero in the world?"
So regarding the Superman comparisons and power-level balancing: Clark Kent's main power-balancer is not actually Kryptonite - it's that in order to preserve his moral code, he insists on finding ways to end a fight without anyone dying, not even the villains. Superman can easily just turn Lex Luther into a red smear on the sidewalk. The difficulty is getting Lex to stop whatever scheme he's doing _without_ turning him into a red smear on the sidewalk. Carol Danvers' main power-balancer is that she's so powerful, she's needed all over the universe (not just Earth) but she can't be everywhere at once. So she prioritizes appropriate leveled threats, and only returns to Earth on an as-needed basis for universe-level threats (such as cleaning up after Thanos' snap).
In the comics, Goose the cat's name is actually Chewie. But because of Star Wars and Episode 7 just coming out, they changed it to Goose as an homage to Top Gun.
@@lastlegend9657 - Relatively speaking. The point was that they brought Chewbacca back for the new trilogy, and between 7 & 8 would have been fresh in the public minds while they were writing this screenplay.
Star Wars wasn't nearly as popular in the late 80s, so the Flerkin being named something else made sense. With Mar-vell being around fighter pilots, using a name from Top Gun for her "pet" fits.
She was having adventures in space, maybe another galaxy, while everything was happening on Earth. Marvel said that she was the most powerful character. They were trying to establish their own Superman and Wonder Woman (maybe a little Green Lantern) in one character. But you can't have someone like that on Earth all the time. You have to use her sparingly since she probably would have made short work of all the threats in previous movies. Maybe Hela would have given her a run for the money.
Exactly, she addresses this in Endgame (which I think they already saw), where she says something like, "This was happening all over the universe and other planets didn't have all you guys to help." Which brings up a different subject, pretty weird Earth has so many super beings ;)
She can say whatever she wants but everyone knows Wanda is by far the most powerfull of them all, she can destroy them all in a instance but got nerved a shitton in the MCU.
1. the placement of this movie is due to the fact that a certain higher up named Ike Perlmutter decided that female superheroes and characters like Black Panther wouldn’t make money with movies and toys, otherwise Kevin Feige wanted Captain Marvel to come out before Civil War 2. Infinity War happens in less than a day, so for her to get notice and then appear on Earth shortly after is pretty good timing.
As you pointed out Captain Marvel suffers from the Superman syndrome. Its impossible to find a real true threat to them because they are quite literally beyond god status in the universe or at least on their level. So if Captain Marvel was around from the start, very likely Thanos would not have been the threat he was. They also tend to make the other heroes feel weak or inferior and you begin to wonder why iron man, batman or wonder woman are even needed. So its great that they chose to bring her in very late in "the game".
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but at this point, you should know this...all the stones have specific colors. So when you see "powers" come out, they are attributed to certain stones.
I really enjoy your reactions to the MCU for the first time, it took me back went I saw the movies.... priceless, and for the next you must do a 3 part reaction
Your thoughts were the same as ours when we first saw it. She's hyper powerful, and it felt very strange at that point and we all have the same follow-up questions. But things kinda resolve themselves with endgame, a bit. At least we fell more connection with her after some extra info we are going to receive next.
Miss Marvel was very busy with other areas of the universe on a protective basis. She is not omnsicient. She couldn't necessarily know everything going on with Thanos. She was not "in the know".
The "Superman problem" isn't really a problem if the writing is smart. The thing that's often forgotten when it comes to writing stories for Superman is that you don't need to have a villain that is dangerous to Superman. You only need to threaten the people Superman loves and inhibit his ability to protect him. You also challenge Superman's resolve to do what is right instead of what is selfish. There are so many ways to threaten Superman without putting his own life in physical danger, and those are the best Superman stories out there. If you do what Zack Snyder did and simply throw a bigger, stronger villain at Superman, you just end up with a glorified episode of Dragonball Z.
You have to realise she actually literally arrives maybe minutes or hours after Thanos did the snap. She would not have any idea what was going on before. How could she? So her arrival is really the earliest she could have got to Earth without any foreknowledge.
The scene with the loading bar really showed who in the cinema grew up in the 90's and who didn't, because everyone who did absolutely cracked up at the slow speed of the loading bar :D i love the whole 90s vibe of the movie and the music as well.
Remember... they sent Gamora to collect the Power Stone... and when Ronan discovered what it was, that's when he turned against Thanos. Ronan came to Earth because he was told Earth has Skrull... not for the Tesseract. It was the other Kree who were looking for the engine.
Funny you should bring up Supergirl. Supergirl is Kara Danvers, and Captain Marvel is Carol Danvers. I'm pretty sure one company did that to piss off the other. Not sure which one was the instigator, but I'm betting it was Marvel. This movie was supposed to come out after Age of Ultron (So was Black Panther) But both were held back because a Marvel Exec didn't think the mainstream crowd would accept those characters. So the Captain Marvel movie we got was a huge info dump covering what Marvel would have covered in two movies, so this movie seems rushed because of that. Black Panther seems more organic because we were introduced to the charecter in Civil War.
Love your reactions to this. Carol's powers are basically derived from the Tesseract as its energy is what Lawson used to make the light speed engine with - which Carol then absorbed. This is why she's so powerful. In the MCU, that is (not in the comics). Wanda and Vision are the other characters whose powers are derived from the stones - which is why they are so powerful as well.
@@ssort69 Indeed. I believe the Russo brothers and the two writers Markus & McFeely explained in an interview that Vision was so OP, they had to find a way to 'disable' him in Infinity War early on, hence, Corvus Glaive's glaive which is supposed to be able to slice any known thing and person in the universe (Marvel Comics, "Infinity", issue #6, 2013)
The comments about Danvers being "overpowered" are interesting, as in the actual comic book stories, the characters are much more powerful than in the films. The producers of the MCU films actually "depowered" many of the characters. Drax the Destroyer is a good example.
@@moxyblackfiddler .... In my opinion, the clumsy plot in the film did not give proper context for Danvers's newly-discovered powers. We weren't given enough information about her powers until she was out in space. She escaped the Supreme Intelligence, displayed her awesome powers, and then she got into that ridiculous fist fight with the Krees (played to the tune of No Doubt's "I'm Just A Girl"). That scene really turned me off.
Why is everyone so hard on Yon-Rogg for challenging Carol to fistfight? It's basically the only option he has left. He cannot overpower her, so he left with only psychological warfare. I think, he very brave and dedicated soldier of the Kree Empire.
It was logical for Rogg to challenge her because that was all he knew how to do. His only function was to be her commander, teacher and trainer, but she evolved way past him. He became irrelevant to her.
Great reaction, and I can't wait for you to see Endgame! I have to agree with your feeling of 'disconnect' with this film. There was so much info jammed into one film. I was a huge Marvel comics fan up to my early 20s, but haven't read much for almost 30 years. For me, I remember Carol Danvers as Ms. Marvel and still remember her tragic meeting with Rogue (who later became an X-man). Carol becoming Captain Marvel is after my time as a loyal reader of Marvel comics. I still think the film is very good, but honestly one of my least favorite MCU films up to Avengers; End Game. I don't mean that as an insult to the film, but rather a massive complement to the MCU films overall (remember, I still think "Captain Marvel" was a very good film). The Skrull were certainly affected by the "snap" as well, but Carol would have no way of knowing how this had happened until Fury's alert reached her. She was at least on the other side of the galaxy by then, possibly even in another galaxy, but I'm not certain of how far away she was.
I know you guys liked Minerva So, a little tidbid. The actress that plays Minerva here was casted to play another MCU character. And she's the main protagonists in that movie.
To be fair, they will address some of your questions in the next film of “Where were YOU?” in the next film. You will also be glad you watched all the films in release order because there IS a definitive pay off for doing so.
So you guys probably missed this, most of us did. But project Pegasus is the SHIELD base that was destroyed in the opening scene of first Avengers movie that collapsed in on itself.
To your discussion at the end, at the time there was a bit of an uproar about Captain Marvel. People love the character from the comic books, but the movie didn't do so well for a lot of the reasons you talked about. The reason she was added in now will become apparent in Endgame, but essentially no one really cared about her, and they had to do reshoots because of the movie to fit her into Endgame which some of the actors weren't happy about either. You could basically remove her from Endgame and it still would play out the same. But Captain Marvel is one of the most powerful heroes in the comic book world having got her powers from the tesseract itself. Just like Superman, she's kind of a cheat code. Because of this reason, they could barely put her into Endgame otherwise a lot of the movies tense moments would be undone, so they made up some lame excuse. I won't say much more since we'll get into spoiler territory, but you'll understand what I mean when you watch Endgame. In terms of the cat, in the Comics, the cat was displaced from one reality into Earth 616 (the range of comics that the MCU draws from). Carol named him Chewwie after the Star Wars character when she found him because she couldn't think of a better name. This was retconned in the Movie to Goose since she was a fighter pilot, and Top Gun came out around that time in the 90's.
How would she have heard of the snap as it was happening? Infinity war was a few days it takes light-years to go across 1 galaxy. She can do it fast but even her speed has limits
Can‘t wait for y‘all to watch the other MCU movies too…, always great to see new people experience the MCU for the first time…, thanks for the reactions guys👍🏼😄
Capt. Marvel Power set 101 - Strength and durability equal to the Hulk. Photon blasts and her flight powered by her photon blasts. But what you may not notice she can also absobe energy to charge herself up even more. Her weaknesses is more her psichy. In the comics she had some mental issues and a drinking issue. Now recall in the Gaurdians of the Galaxy v.1, the war with the Kree and Zandar was ended. Capt. Marvel did that and that is why she was not available in most issues. Also she was fighting bad guys on world that did not have heroes like the Avengers.
People always criticise the Carol Danvers character for not having ‘weaknesses’. But at least in this film she’s incredibly lost and vulnerable and being manipulated by an evil force! Maybe Brie Larson’s performance doesn’t demonstrated that vulnerability but an argument could be made that she’s defensive because of her horrible situation, other actors have made this choice. Ultimately this film still has more punch than a lot of later MCU Phase 4 films
The reason why Carol wasn't present in Infinity War is rather simple. She was busy elsewhere and didn't get the call ("only in emergencies") until the Snap happened. She could have been a dozen galaxies away. The war with Thanos only happened on Titan (a dead planet) and Earth. She would have no way of knowing it was going on. It's not as if Thanos sent out a universe-wide newsletter letting everyone know he's looking for Infinity Stones. The existence of the stones isn't even common knowledge, let alone what they can do. She would have known something was going on once she saw people turning to dust, but before then, nothing.
Actually lack of comic book background doesn't affect much in terms of understanding this movie. Marvel Studios completely rewrote and simplified the backstory and history of this character. Instead of Carol Danvers being the 7th person to go by the name "Captain Marvel" like the comics, she's the first in the MCU.
For alot of people this is in the bottom 3 mcu movies. However the fact that its still at least a 6/10 and one of the worst is crazy. Just shows how good this franchise is
I'm guessing a lot of people have readjusted their bottom 3 these days. Personally, my bottom 3 are all from Phase 4 and 5: Thor L&T, Multiverse of Madness and Quantumania. I won't argue why because I don't want to spoil things for Rob and Trin. A lot of the negativity for Captain Marvel also comes from the fact some people don't like Brie Larson (the majority of which are men) and made up all kinds of bullshit about her, but those criticisms are automatically discredited as far as I'm concerned because they focus on the actor's real life and have nothing to do with the movie, and are also verifiably untrue. I understand not wanting to see the movie because she's in it (I have that with Tom Cruise, the egomaniacal Scientology cultist; he's the only actor I can't separate from his real life persona) but if people watch the movie and only focus on their dislike for Brie they're doing the movie a disservice and themselves as well. Despite my dislike for Tom Cruise, the Mission Impossible movies (the ones I've seen at least, because I've given up on the franchise a few movies ago) are far from bad and I enjoyed Top Gun: Maverick despite of him. And while I don't like Ezra Miller one bit I could still put that aside when I watched the Flash movie (which was bad because it was a pale and neutered adaptation of the Flashpoint storyline, which even Michael Keaton and Sasha Calle couldn't save for me). So when people say Captain Marvel is one of the worst MCU movies I always take it with a grain of salt, until I've heard their arguments.
@@joebond545 Meh. The movie had too many plotholes, on its own and in relation to other MCU movies. You also have to have watched Wandavision or some things just won't make sense at all, meaning it doesn't function as a stand alone movie, more so than any other MCU movie at the time. At the same time it feels like all Wanda had been through in Wandavision had been for naught and she'd learned nothing of the events that transpired in the series. One character in the movie had practically no development and was nothing more than a McGuffin. And they did the Illuminati wrong. They really undersold that group, with only the guy in the chair living up to what the Illuminati are supposed to be. It wasn't all bad and had good ideas and some great scenes, but it was definitely subpar within the larger MCU for me.
Love this movie, though it does feel like it fits better earlier in the 21 movie run, where we were getting origin stories. I get the logic of withholding such a powerful hero, just means they ended up having to place her intro on a spot on the arc to Endgame where it feels awkward. Still, I can’t really regret any part of the journey through the MCU, and I do want more of Carol and her Earth family♥️
i always viewed captain marvel as just a kind of introduction to the character so they didn't have to explain where she came from for endgame. just a kind of marvel movie light. the explanation for where was she for a lot of bad things happening is also explained in endgame.
Captain Marvel started as a man. Then came Ms. Marvel. She, eventually, took the mantle as Captain Marvel. Marvel Comics was usually pretty good about having characters from other titles busy with other important things. Occasionally, you would see X-Men working with Avengers and visa versa. But those earth shattering events they wouldn't be around. This was typically due to something nearly as bad but in the Mutant sphere of influence or the Avengers.
It's important to remember that when Thanos made his move for the infinity stones, he moved quickly. He was only on Earth for a few minutes before he pulled the mind stone from Vision's head and and performed the snap. Prior to that he was fighting Strange, Iron Man, Spidey and the Guardians on Titan. And across the universe, no one knew what caused the massive loss of life or who was behind it. So without Fury's pager alert, Carol (wherever in the cosmos she happened to be) wouldn't imediately have any reason to think Earth was involved. Yes, Captain Marvel does present some of the same problems as Superman from a storytelling/writing standpoint. She's the MCU's rough equivalent, the big blue WMD who gets called in when the chips are down, just like Superman ad the Justice League. But fortunately her role and responsibilities offworld keep her pretty busy, so she doesn't constantly appear and make everyone else redundant. The timing of her introduction was a bit jarring and late in the game, no question about that.
I never had a problem with the way fury lost his eye he’s the top spy of the spy world so of course he would let the rumors and hype build up to give his character a bigger than life feel to it in my opinion
She was on the other side of the galaxy when Ronan was attacking and it wasn't really her business. The universe is a vast place with a lot of minor dictators trying to gain control. Like the Guardians of The Galaxy aren't technically Avengers so their adventures are their own thing separate from Avengers. They only get involved because Gamora is Thanos' daughter and they happen to cross paths with Thor. But they're not friends to call up on when there's yet another big headed villain going after one of the Infinity Stones
I knew of Captain Marvel from the comics in the 70’s so that lessened the jarring that you mentioned. As far as the ‘where was she when…’. I guess the best thing is to remember it’s a universe not just our planet or even galaxy so she could be busy saving any number if trillions of other planets. Gotta find out their service provider for that Mar-vell pager though!
I'm gonna say it and people will probably not like it or agree with me but I'm sitting here and thinking about all the Supermans I've seen on screen showing their strengths and capabilities. I've come to the conclusion that Captain Marvel is way more powerful and superior than him. I have yet to see Superman travel deep into space and kick ass like she did in this movie. She was like a laser going through all those flying spacecrafts. Especially the big one. She went through it like nothing. Not once did she break a sweat or struggle as much as I've seen Superman struggle. Plus they always show him flying in a dramatic way that to me it looks like he's flying a bit slow. Nothing compared to Captain Marvel. Before this movie came out, Superman was my favorite superhero. But after seeing Captain Marvel, I was blown away and super impressed and amazed at her skills. Nowadays, it seems like everyone has got green kryptonite for Superman lol. Poor guy. And it seems like the only weakness she's got so far, is that she can get mind-controlled. Aside from that, she can physically handle anything thrown her way. Which is super cool. And I would add more but Rob & Trin haven't seen Endgame yet and I can't wait.
You miss that when Thanos went after the stones, it would seem somewhat like random attacks if you didn't know where the stones were. Attacking a planet for the Power Stone. Attack an Asgard ship for Tesseract. KnowWhere for Aether. there isn't a "pattern unless you know... and he didn't exactly lay siege to any of them... so no delays to catch up... sort of. Also Early in Endgame Rhoddy ask where have you [cap't Marvel] been all this time. You'll get your answer then. 😉
I think watching these films in chronological order would’ve made this movie make more sense. It is odd to release this film after Infinity War but set this movie in the past
carol is probably the strongest hero at this point in the story. P.S captain marvel knew of thanos but didnt know he collected the infinity stones or that he snapped the universe in half. No one knew that was his plan except for Nebula who is stuck in titan with the other avengers. All the events leading up to infinity war was to break the avengers and destroy shield. All the things standing in the way of Thanos were not there but its time to regroup and fight back.
Fury really did not have time to call her in for the Avengers, the true threat did not really show itself until the portal was open and Fury already had the rest of Avengers, including the God of Thunder. If the Avengers were defeated by Loki and his army, Fury then might have called her in. However, the Earth still had one more protector Odin, and the armies Asgard as shown by Odin sending Thor to Earth to protect it!!! One of the seven realms, under Asgard's protection.

Even though the reason behind Fury's eye was shown in this movie, if you revisit the previous movies you can still see the claw marks
"The last time I trusted someone I lost an eye"
I still think it was bad the way they did imo
@@oblivion1971uesp I mean he trusted the cat lol
@@oblivion1971uesp he is master spy dont matter what is true :D he can make myth around anything
@@juanbarrera1356 Exactly. Not to mention the fact that Fury lies. A lot.
@juanbarrera @oblivion1971 it's still the most lame way they could have chosen for Fury to lose his eye.. Especially after the weight of his lines regarding this in CA: Winter Soldier.
That post credit scene still gives me chills.
Yeah I know what you mean... nothing like a cat throwing up gives me the chilly willies 😊
“Welcome Goose, strongest Avenger.”
Fury and Carol were so great together!
@@xiz0808 Oh! That was Jim Starlin’s doing, as I read to just that point. That all makes sense. Thank you!
This movie is fantastic. Easily top 5 MCU. Lots of people crap on this one, but it's simply because they don't understand comic books...
So think about Fury seeing the initial reports on Tony Stark and the Iron Man armor, and the entire time there's a Flerkin hanging out in his office. No wonder he tells Tony "You think you're the only superhero in the world?"
So regarding the Superman comparisons and power-level balancing:
Clark Kent's main power-balancer is not actually Kryptonite - it's that in order to preserve his moral code, he insists on finding ways to end a fight without anyone dying, not even the villains.
Episode 7 came out in 2015. 2019 is when Ep 9 came out.
Goose is far better than chewie
@@handigeharrie9550 she didn't say it. Marvel said it during the publicity for the film.
@@richardb6260 I know
"She does have a Supergirl thing going, doesn't she?"
Well, her name is Carol Danvers, while Supergirls' name is Kara Danvers, so...
FYI, the Quadjet that they got away from the base on was the prototype for the Avengers Quinjet.
1. the placement of this movie is due to the fact that a certain higher up named Ike Perlmutter decided that female superheroes and characters like Black Panther wouldn’t make money with movies and toys, otherwise Kevin Feige wanted Captain Marvel to come out before Civil War
2. Infinity War happens in less than a day, so for her to get notice and then appear on Earth shortly after is pretty good timing.
I really liked Trin's reaction to this movie. I feel the same way she did about the film.
The directors for this film had never done a big-budget movie before and you can kind of feel that with the pacing and direction here.
Its funny with the „Supergirl vibes“ thinking about the fact that they have similar names too. Kara Danvers and Carol Danver, it’s funny to me somehow
Your thoughts were the same as ours when we first saw it. She's hyper powerful, and it felt very strange at that point and we all have the same follow-up questions. But things kinda resolve themselves with endgame, a bit. At least we fell more connection with her after some extra info we are going to receive next.
Marvel is one of those movies that I thoroughly enjoyed the first viewing, but never get the feeling to rewatch... except for reactions obviously
"It's a huge universe, and not every planet has Avengers to protect them!"
…..and lots and lots of skyscrapers being knocked down.
You have to realise she actually literally arrives maybe minutes or hours after Thanos did the snap. She would not have any idea what was going on before. How could she?
So her arrival is really the earliest she could have got to Earth without any foreknowledge.
The Guardians didn’t know anything until Thor told them then they acted
The scene with the loading bar really showed who in the cinema grew up in the 90's and who didn't, because everyone who did absolutely cracked up at the slow speed of the loading bar :D i love the whole 90s vibe of the movie and the music as well.
“Wish I was only human, with Haduken fists” that’s well put 😂
I’ve been loving following along with you two on this journey! ENDGAME! (Maybe do three part edit? I’m a glutton)
Enjoy!!
It will probably be 3 parts :)
I didn’t even realise the guy from guardians who’s in this is meant to be the same character lol
Remember... they sent Gamora to collect the Power Stone... and when Ronan discovered what it was, that's when he turned against Thanos.
Ronan came to Earth because he was told Earth has Skrull... not for the Tesseract. It was the other Kree who were looking for the engine.
“There’s probably an end-credit scene.”
18 movies in & we’re still asking this question? 😂
ikr! when will we learn 😬
In the comics Vision is one of the S Tier powered avengers, he's badass at times in the movies but comics Vision is sometimes mega OP.
@@ssort69 Indeed. I believe the Russo brothers and the two writers Markus & McFeely explained in an interview that Vision was so OP, they had to find a way to 'disable' him in Infinity War early on, hence, Corvus Glaive's glaive which is supposed to be able to slice any known thing and person in the universe (Marvel Comics, "Infinity", issue #6, 2013)
they use Greenscreen Pillow for the cat because Samuel L. Jackson was allergic to cat Fur😂😂😂 also Cant wait for the end game🎉
The comments about Danvers being "overpowered" are interesting, as in the actual comic book stories, the characters are much more powerful than in the films. The producers of the MCU films actually "depowered" many of the characters. Drax the Destroyer is a good example.
What I don't get about the criticism is that they're the same who say Thor was stronger. They give him a pass, yet not her.
I cant believe how much weight this movie has after watching secret invasion.
We are in the END GAME now...
Great fun watching your reactions!! can't wait for Endgame!
We're in the Endgame now.
When you realize the whole movie is really just the backstory of Fury’s eye
Thank you so much for watching us!
Thanks for sharing this with us....love your Groot shirt!!!
She is OP and that’s why they waited until Endgame for her.
This movie is so so important for the movies you've already watched so far and the movies and now TV shows to go on from here.
Not really though. She had no impact on the MCU before or after this movie and was only shoehorned into endgame because, reasons..
She would have known something was going on once she saw people turning to dust, but before then, nothing.
you have to be patient with the questions that you have in mind, it will be answered on the next movie.
Cant wait for next Saturday obv!!
Keep up the awesome work🤩🤩
Actually lack of comic book background doesn't affect much in terms of understanding this movie.
@@thenecrosanct4906 multiverse of madness is in my top 10 I love it
@@joebond545 Meh.
I can’t wait for you guys to react to Phase 4 and to the Fox Marvel universe - X-men, Wolverine and Deadpool 💀
EndGame is coming now!!! I'm so excited!!!🙏❤️
Hey, cat scratch fever is a real thing. All the bacteria under cats’ claws since they dig around in the litter box. I saw this as the owner of 2 cats.
If you’re interested, there is some history between Marvel and DC about the name “Marvel” used in their comic books.
Superman does exist in marvel comics. He is just called Hyperion. Same powers diff name.
i always viewed captain marvel as just a kind of introduction to the character so they didn't have to explain where she came from for endgame. just a kind of marvel movie light. the explanation for where was she for a lot of bad things happening is also explained in endgame.
Haha love how you guys kept having to say my last name the entire video 🤣. Absolutely can’t wait for your End Game video!!
The most desapointing thing in this movie was how fury lost his eye
She was on the other side of the galaxy when Ronan was attacking and it wasn't really her business. The universe is a vast place with a lot of minor dictators trying to gain control. Like the Guardians of The Galaxy aren't technically Avengers so their adventures are their own thing separate from Avengers. They only get involved because Gamora is Thanos' daughter and they happen to cross paths with Thor. But they're not friends to call up on when there's yet another big headed villain going after one of the Infinity Stones
You guys should make end game a 3 PART!!!!!! 🎉
lol ok the chick that used the nerf gun thinking it was a real gun not knowing earth hahaha
The Guardians holiday special is a must before Guardians 3. There's quite a few references to it.
All the things standing in the way of Thanos were not there but its time to regroup and fight back.
i love brie larson, shes adorable and super talented.
