  • The term "japa" comes from the Yoruba word meaning to run or flee and, in recent years, has become something of a buzzword on the streets of cities such as Lagos as a growing number of often young, educated Nigerians look to move abroad to escape unemployment, inflation and low salaries. But this exodus is leaving the country facing a brain-drain, while some warn that those who leave may not find the life they are hoping for abroad.

It doesn’t matter when your country needs the workers. They will send them over on planes above your fortress.

@@pharaohbtwThey want workers that look like them. There are plenty of Eastern Europeans who will fill that need. 😂

@@pharaohbtw I think that you maybe ignoring the rising tide of hate in Europe. Europe and the US did some not so great things in history. However they did it in the pursuit of making their home lands more rich and powerful. The goal was to improve their homelands. Africans are just leaving their homelands. Would you be upset if another country moved into your former lands if they improved it? That may not be a great thing for the natives. Have you all learned nothing from history?

The majority don't care about going to the USA. More would rather go to another African country or go to Europe especially the country that colonised theirs.
