- Supports in Wuthering Waves perform their main role of keeping their team alive in a variety of ways. Some use shielding, some use healing, some use damage mitigation, and some use a combination of all three.
In the second part of this three-part series, I'll be discussing a hybrid support slandered across pre-release as "the worst 5* character in the game." That title, unfortunately, is reserved for Lingyang.

Have any of you been pleasantly surprised by Jianxin's performance? What teams are you running her on?
Well I am using her as main dps. She never disappointed me even once. 😂 she is atk scalling. Ok. Time to farm atk sand for her.
I run her with Sanhua and Havoc Rover. Lost a 50/50 to get her and wasn't mad at all about it, like imagine if I'd gotten Lingyang instead?

My only support I have now is verina, baizhi, and jianxin, but I'm only building baizhi and jianxin because they are my favourite, and I will not use verina at all

i picked her with my choice cuz she was the hottest. havent been disappointed with her as a sub dps/supp at all. makes my chixia ults absolutely insane
I built her like a dps and got her to S3 F2P... She do a lot of damage specially her charge attack lol

for a more balanced build jianxin can be used with the bellbourne under the moonlit cloud set. She will have more energy recharge so you can go for more offensive stat. she is also really good with a really well build yinlin. she can trigger her offield dps with her forte circuit really well for rotations whre maybe kakarot dosent have his ult up..
There are definitely a ton of additional mechanics for the Yinlin/Calcharo/Jianxin team that isn't fully expanded on in this video. A great way to keep up some sustained DPS during cooldowns.
Same , my jianxin use moonlith set and i dump energy regen stat with that i can spam her ult .
I was disappointed I got Jianxin from my discount beginner banner at first, but I've really come to love her. I'm playing Calcharo, Yinlin & Verina on one team, then Jiyan, Aalto & Jianxin for funsies Aero/AOE/shield team.
Man, I still remember when you told me to reconsider taking that lunite subscription cause I got Jianxin Lmao. Guess I'll aim for Jianxin this time. She looks fun to play

If you only had two characters to pick from the standard banner with 20/20 hindsight, I would 100% recommend Verina and Jianxin, no doubt.
I don’t usually care about people pronouncing names wrong but this one is hurting everyone so please pronounce her name as “Jeeyanshin”

My favorite part about using her with yinlin is that it extremely easy to mark almost all the enemies with yinlin. Resonance liberation with jianxin then switch to yinlin and skill.

Since I got her at the start of the game, she became my #1 character. So good and gets even better!
For overworld and casual game modes I agree. I have built both her and Verina, and I like Jianxin more. Her healing is better, her shield is amazing for comfort, the only drawback is that she doesn't buff as much and in order to get her healing you have to last through her heavy attack. still I use her all the time.

She isn't top tier b/c it takes her a minute longer to kill enemies. I don't care, I don't die.
I use her with Jiyan's outro giving her 2 mini nukes when she does heavys

That and, her shield taking long to build are my only gripe with her.
Though I guess the latter is a fair trade off since that shield is busted. But it might have been better to put her S6 as an early sequence (like S2 or S3) to experience that QoL and not having to whale much.

Try Moonlit Clouds echo sets , they perform and buff much better .
People be rating jianxin for dps but she was built with support in mind. Using the turtle shield will allow jianxin to charge for max shields without taking damage at all.
Cause her dps is actually really good when built for it and supported by Mortefi.

@@femmenic it functions same as spectro rover's outro like stopping time. Since zigzag is a summon therfore it can't interrupt any of your action including your forte that means you can cast zigzag mid forte channeling. This way any mobs and boss will take full dmg from your forte and you don't have to worry about getting hit or them getting away from range.

im using her with stonard and the sierra gale set with er 3 cost echoes and she does it all, she heals, she buffs, she groups and she does damage easily my favorite character in the game.

I wasn't feelin Jianxin until I put Bell-Borne on her. Being able to cast Chi Spiral with 100% damage nullification for 3 hits is so nice. And then her healing procs the ATK increase party wide. And by the time that's done she usually has her Outro charged and it all just flows so nicely. I'm currently running her with Calcharo and have been experimenting with Yuanwa for off screen damage.
I wanted Jianxin, Got Calcharo 3 times, Yinlin and her weapon. I guess I can cook 😅
I've been running her as a sub-DPS for Chixia thus far. Chixia's ultimate does an absolute grip of damage-- by default it has almost double the damage of most other characters ults (for only 50% higher cost), hits an absolutely huge radius, and Chixia has her own internal buff to fire damage. I'll definitely be rebuilding her to use her elsewhere after Changli releases though, so thanks for the guide on that.

I use her as a damage support on my second team of Chixia/Taoqi/Jianxin I have her using the healing set, but her active echo is the dragonfly one that I can pop prior to swapping to Taoqi to ensure the sets attack buff via the echo's heal. Her outra works great for my sub dps burst Taoqi, who does her intro counter 3 strike shield, into Crownless, into liberation. I then swap into Chixia with Taoqi's outra to biff Chixia's resonance damage. Chixia hits Rider, resonance twice, liberation, and 1 more resonance before I swap back to Taoqi for her resonance skill to put up the stone shields again and finally reseting to Jianxin. It's a great flow of outro buffs and good damage across the board. Taoqi often hits 18k liberation damage in a wide AoE thanks to Jianxin's buffs.

Jianxin Mortefi Jiyan she’s Moonlit CR Aero with early pull gauntlet 5*. Safe emergency swap when plans fail and want some health
She crazy in the fact in she's so flexable and really does everything. She might not be top dps but she does give them a run for their money when fully invested for main dps. With Mortefi and Verina/Baizhi support she can output some insane damage spikes on her forte circuit heavy attack.
She employ that shield way too slow man...and some bosses hav enuf horse power to knock thru her counter

Jianxin being able to parry oneshot attacks from holo bosses is everything to me. She's a treasure.
My dumb brain thought calcharo is a sword user so I used my ticket on calcharo when I I pulled emerald of genesis. Now I wish I got jianxin instead since I desperately need another healer when the next 2 limited characters are both dps

I was lowkey surprised my Tai Chi goddess could actually dish out damage. I have her and Jiyan for my 1st team (Alto/Yangyang don't feel quite right as a 3rd). Only thing left to do is grind to build lol
after looking at your video and looking at the echoes set again. i think rejuvenating glow is a better option compared to the moonlit set that i currently use. the attack buff is more universal since it is team wide. thanks for the video man. been using jianxin in my team since the start. i just love her playstyle
I do build for her a full def and a bit of crit is kinda crazy, i think.

People r just being stupid. U need constellation for her to be good. It's like with Jean from GI who is only good after C2. C0 Jianxin is bad with no cope, u r stuck on field for too long with pure awkwardness. C1 fix that problem. C2 make her better dps because no more dodging.

6:36 Have you actually tested if these gauntlets can activate Rejuvenating Glow? In my testing, self heals never activate the 15% atk buff from Rejuvenating Glow, and Jianxin's "heal the active character" healing from her forte circuit also doesn't count for some reason. (Edit: I was wrong about all this)
The only way i was able to activate this buff with Jianxin was to use the Originite: Type IV gauntlets which actually heal the whole team.
I just tested this and it works fine for me. Gauntlets21 requires you to perform a dodge counter on Jianxin to activate the healing, and the healing unfortunately does not trigger when she uses her E's counterattack.
@@saintontas I don't have the crafted gauntlets to test it, but i just tested her shield healing and it does seem to activate Rejuvenating glow now. Either i messed up testing it before or they hotfixed it. My bad.
Either way that was the main thing holding me back from using Jianxin since i didn't want to have to use the 3-star gauntlets to activate the set, so i guess i'll use her now.
@@MinCalm Rejuvenating glow has a 30 second duration so that oftentimes can be the mistake during testing.

I have one question: How many poise her have when we use her Forte? I find myelf staggered out a lot and I doN't know if I doing something wrong with her build or I need better timeing.
The knockback on some attacks does seem a bit inconsistent. I am not entirely sure how poise calculations work but there is a possibility that stacking the bell turtle echo buff with her forte gives her more poise than just using the forte bar.
@@saintontas Yeah, maybe, but I doN't even know if the Bell or shield give any poise or not. As example I stagger out with Taoqi as well even when I have shield and Bell effect on her. Maybe in this game shield and damage reduction effect don'T give any poise? It would be nice to know how this aspect work in this game, strange we doN't have a poise meter even when this game so focused on the action part of the game. it would be nice if we had some indication like in Sekiro.
@@reactiondavant-garde3391having the shield doesn't give you any poise, you only get it when doing Jianxin heavy attack animation, but can still be staggered by some attack (eg impeccable heron and mourning aix slap can stagger Jianxin and cancel her heavy attack).
The bell if I'm not mistaken can block up to 3 damages, and then the bell effect will gone.

I don't understand how the comp works. He Outro doesn't help calcharo if you swap to yinlin first. It seems she is more of a sub dps/support type. So like start varena then swap to her, then swap to main for big liberation dmg.
So wouldn't it be good to go Verina -> Jianxin -> Havoc Rover Dark Surge Liberation for some super stacked damage?

Yeah i thought Jianxin would actually do something for team 2 in tower and built her because i hate Baihzi and didn't want to use her, ended up getting more value from lvl 1 Baihzi support than lvl 70 Jianxin to clear all the stars sadly.. She just wastes time with her forte and does 0 damage, only thing she does is group enemies being used as an ult bot but that doesnt matter for bosses or if you use Jiyan
just give her the 3* weapon that regenerates health and the healing set. she does not need any investment but ER echos. she does not need to be on the field for more than one auto attack.
unironically, the healing gauntlet via basics + rejuvenating set build favours S4 Yuanwu more than Jianxin since he at least gives a big shield to the on field character for 10s after he ults (CD 20s iirc)
Jianxin at low resonance chains best performs as an ult bot to group enemies.
TBH her only usefulness is her grouping. I find charging her shield is going to get you killed much faster
Diehard day 1 Jianxin main here. When all the CCs at launch called her trash, I did an absolute head tilt at the stupidity of the statement lol. It was VERY easy to see her worth immediately.

she might be good at high investment where the timer and dmg is not a problem but for mid accounts/mid skill level she is kinda meh.
In teams with no inherent grouping like Calcharo and Yinlin, she severely outperforms healers like Verina and Baizhi on floors with multiple enemies.
I think that her performance on bosses can vary depending on how well you can parry; her enhanced counter does a significant amount of vibration damage (white stagger bar under boss hp) which lets you open up big DPS phases a lot earlier compared to other supports.
She can take care Tower floor 1-2 entirely by herself comfortably and without crazy investment, leaving your strongest team to handle the upper floor.
Yinlin doesn't need grouping, she hits the entire screen
@@Mello675 Yinlin doesn't but Calcharo definitely does. Can't proc her off-field damage unless you're hitting enemies.

Gauntlets#21D exists you know and its pretty much free to get as all you need is weeky boss mats.
I didnt use my guaranteed Jianxin, I chose to pull for the Static Mist instead. The Static Mist provided a significant upgrade to my Mortefi and my account in general. Getting Jianxin wouldn't make much difference to my account since I wouldn't be able to upgrade her and her echoes immediately due to the scarcity of ascension resources and materials.
Probably better for your account early on but the when u get around to building ur 2nd or 3rd team she’s great.

By the time I get to save up for the resources needed to build a third team, there will be better units than Jianxin. Meanwhile, the Static mist will always be useful to my Mortefi.
