Thank you for documenting your journey. I'm almost finishing my PPL at a mom-and-pop school myself and will start instrument training soon after. Really appreciated your perspective. Keep the great content coming!
Not that I have any plans to attend ATP, but your channel is nice to follow to get to know a bit more of this frequently mentioned school on the socials. You should be very proud of yourself as you seem to be a strong minded and also friendly looking young lad. If I were your mom I would be extremely proud of you! I had to practice a soft field take-off on the go when I proposed to my instructor to fly to a grass strip and later on the short field, so this might not be very uncommon. Looking forward to see more of you!
@@thatpilotluke You are very welcome! To me flying and learning to fly is a fantastic hobby. As you show a great character, I admire your perseverance and efforts and I like to see you succeed in becoming a commercial pilot!
Definitely not very common for an actual grass runway landing/ take off during training. Asked my CFI about it one time and she said the reason most schools will never take student pilots to actual grass runways is because insurance strictly prohibits it. Kinda sucks imo. I think it would be extremely valuable to get at least some training on actual grass runways during your PPL phase, but such is life.
@@JustForPun-rk1zt I would love to but not super qualified to speak on that. Don't know too much about how things work if you're an international student
@@austinkling6407 I don't. I have done two years at college and I am planning on finishing my degree online while at a regional. It is not a "requirement" to have a degree to get to most major airlines but it is still a good idea to have one in my opinion
@@ts27739 definitely not haha. I was considering going to the school and couldn't find a lot of honest videos about students experiences at atp so I decided to make videos to help others see what it's like! Definitely not recruiting for ATP. Just trying to help others and share my journey to becoming an airline pilot!
