Honestly, I have really high anxiety and depression and when I feel really anxious, I replay your talking videos in the background and play switch games to calm myself down and distract myself. The things you talk about are so positive and light and I genuinely think you could talk about nothing and I'd enjoy it to de-stress hahaha! You're doing an amazing job and have amazing content!
I recommend looking into somatic work. I too have had anxiety since I was a child, and I just thought that was normal. Now I've come to realize it's unprocessed, unresolved emotions and trauma. Every human has some trauma, it's natural. Somatic work has been game changing for me! 🙏🏻😊 All the best!

I 100% agree with the Disney Dreamlight Valley recommendation! I tried Animal Crossing years ago and it didn't hook me in with the narrative. Disney Dreamlight Valley immediately hooked me in with the mystery and the storyline while also being so cozy to play and its so fun to befriend the Disney characters from your childhood too! I got it earlier this week and have logged SO many hours already!
Haven is a great game I don't see cozy gamers talk about often. You play a couple (with the options of M/F, F/F, or M/M!) who ran away together to a foreign planet to get away from their restrictive society. There's combat, but it has unique mechanics and is highly optional, at least for the first few hours of playtime. Most of it so far has been exploring the planet, gathering ingredients and materials, and enjoying the loving interactions between the protagonists, Kay and Yu.
I don't usually write comments but I just have to say this - THANK YOU for your channel and your amazing content !!!!!! 💕🌸✨ extremely helpful, especially videos like this and gift ideas 💕💕💕
I really appreciate you considering the game mechanics!! I agree animal crossing is a good game for that. Even just the fact that you can get used to moving around without also having to adjust a camera like you do in a game like Zelda makes a big difference. That’s something a lot of new gamers struggle with! I saw stardew valley recommended for people new to cozy gaming and bought it. But it was so difficult I almost gave up entirely. The short days and seasonal time management were so challenging for me!! I’m better at it now, but I had to leave it for quite a few months and watch lots of tutorials and then come back to it 😅 Personality does come into it, I know not everyone would struggle with that just like I didn’t struggle with the idea of exploring a large open world game or someone else might easily adapt to camera controls. But I think it’s so easy to forget what’s new when you’re actually new to something!!
So I found your channel by accident... it was your video of "cozy hobbies" and I didnt KNOW that I was a cozy hobbiest already lol So now I follow you and I love your vids!! I was already looking for a new gaming pc and really was torn because the desktops are great but sooo expensive and I had thought about building my own but was intimidated! This video has inspired me to go ahead and do the research and build my OWN gaming desktop !!! Thank you!!
I’m so glad I found your channel. I requested a switch for my birthday so I can stop taking my sons. Lol. I’m so ready to get all the games and really dive in.
Thank you so much for this video! This is exactly what I needed. Returning to gaming after not playing for over 25 years and so much has obviously changed.
I can’t wait to get a steam deck and play cozy games that you can normally only play on a PC! I’m one of those that can’t sit still at a desk to play games, I need a handheld or to be able to lay on a couch while playing lol! I love the look of custom PCs though, the aesthetics are so nice.
If you want something closer to a lot of our first cozy game- Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town (Switch) is based on one of the older ones. And if you want some interesting information on how SoS used to be published under the Harvest Moon name, there's definitely some videos that can explain it. I can't speak to current HM games because I'm still mad lol (yes I know it's legal)
Spiritfarer was my first game that really got me loving games! Esp because it stars a black femme person and i didn't know games ~did that~ so I immediately threw myself into the cozy gaming world and haven't looked back😁
I have the Lenovo Legion 5 laptop for my gaming. I can’t sit at a desk for any length of time. And due to health, sometimes I can’t leave my bed. So the gaming laptop fits me best. Sure, not a massive screen, but I’ve gotten used to it. Anyway, this is a solid video. Thank you for making it.
I bought a backbone for my phone to start (because I’m so wishy washy I can’t keep the same hobby for longer than a week for some reason lol) And I love that it was cheaper and It’s super portable! I think it’s really good for beginners too I played lots of Wylde flowers, cozy grove, dream light valley and it also connects to steam so you can really play anything! I REALLY want a switch but to start I was not convinced I was going to actually enjoy gaming as much as I do so I didn’t want to spend all the money
Some of my cozy game recs are: Stardew Valley, Slime Rancher 1 and 2, OOBLETS OMG, ACNL (on the 3ds), Nintendogs (on the DS & 3DS), Harvest Moon/Mineral town farming sims, Unpacking, Sims 4 (free on steam right now), and Pokemon Cafe (Free on nintendo E-shop!). Hope that helps :))
I didn't even know about the curators on steam! That was a great recommendation. I agree with the switch recommendations. I'm currently using a gaming laptop but its enough for the occasional gaming I do while I finish school. And then i'll build my PC.
You’re def the reason I got back into gaming and got Wylde flowers on my phone, after seeing your recommendation. I just got my switch yesterday and can’t wait to play dreamlight valley 😂😂😂
I can't believe the timing of this video. I am a total newbie to cozy gaming and just ordered my Nintendo Switch Lite a couple of days ago. I also recently discovered your channel and have been loving all the great videos you create. Not sure if anyone can answer this for me, but I tried to play Disney Dreamlight Valley on my laptop and didn't love the mechanics. When it comes to playing games on the laptop, should I invest in an actual controller that connects to my laptop? Is that what most people do? I'm excited to explore cozy gaming!
A lot of people do use controllers for laptops/pc's if that's how they prefer to game. Some games suit better with controllers and some others are better with keyboard :)
@@amanda-pb1uy Thank you for your reply! It sounds like it would be a good idea to invest in a controller so that I have the option, depending on what pc game I am playing.
My partner bought the family a Switch for Xmas and until last week it only had Mario Kart on it. I wanted a cosy game and ended up getting Wytchwood because i don't love farming sims, at least that's not what i wanted to play. I'm loving it, it's not too hard but still makes me think a tiny bit, i can easily put it aside of i get interrupted, and it's so charming and funny. It was cheaper than a lot of other games I'd heard about too, which made me happy 😊
I've literally only ever played 3 games on a console (xbox) one of which you mentioned, disney dreamlight valley. I started with Disneyland Adventure which was really fun and does teach you things but some knowledge is implied that you know. I binged it the first day and my husband commented on it, I had to tell him I didn't know how to save and get off so I just kept playing. The other game I've played in Rime, it is very calming but also gives no instructions on what the goal.
Whenever I went the buy my gaming laptop the only game I really played was the sims 4. The sales guy tried talking me into a model with lower specs. Umm no I have 50 gb of cc lol. I got the one I wanted and it runs it so much faster than my old laptop!! I 100% recommend a gaming laptop if you like moving around like I do. My hp omen has run everything I’ve tried so well. Between my switch and laptop I can play pretty much any game I’m interested in.
I play Sims, I have for like 23 years. I went with a 1TB gaming laptop. She cost me a pretty penny but she runs so smooth. I wanted the abilty to take my computer on the go if needed because I also do other things onmy computer like work and play.
There's a few points you didnt cover about switch vs OLED which are worth a mention 😊 - Oled has double the storage (64gb vs 32gb) - Screen is 7" vs 6.2", MUCH better screen - Slightly better battery life - Slighty better audio, and direction is changed to aim more at user - Dock now has ethernet port - Improved kick stand entire console length - Slighty wider (longer) and heavier than standard version, but only marginally
Also!! Don’t forget you can get some amazing deals on second hand switches. I got my v2 switch for $160 with Skyrim, minecraft, assassins creed, and borderlands included 😭😭😭
I've mostly played cozy games, but wanted to exprience something new. I've found it hard to play games in 3d. The most recent game I've picked up is Genshin Impact. I got the regular switch had it for a year, thinking about getting switch oled, but my switch doc will not work and it hasn’t worked since the first day I got it.
Sorry that I just comment on this. But I think on getting a nitendo switch oled because I am done with a ps4 games. I miss comfy or slow phased games. Like build games. Is it worth it? Because the games are so expensive...
I have 2 regular switches (the let's go Pikachu / Eevee Edition and the Animal Crossing Edition, because I'm extra and wanted a second Animal Crossing Island lol) and I also have a switch lite- it literally is so much easier to travel with on the go, it fits in my bag better, it's easier to hold on the go, etc. I love and regularly play all 3 of my switches... I'm at the point where I'm tempted to get an OLED.... Are they really worth it? Do they actually run better and are the graphics that much better? Thinking of getting one in time for Breath of the Wild 2.
I was going to buy a switch lite for my birthday in August, but now I hear there’s a switch 2 that’s gonna come out and a Mario kart 9! Should I wait for that? Might be more expensive though right? I don’t have that much money and these things cost more in Canada. :/
It’ll definitely be pricier! I think a switch lite is the way to go and you can always add a switch 2 to your collection in the next few years if you have a little more financial flexibility! Unless you plan on playing a lot of multiplayer games (like Mario kart) then I’d think about grabbing a regular switch second hand once the Switch 2 comes out since a lot of people will be selling them!
I personally play games mobile and PC I am visually impaired and there's only like two games I would play on switch and for that it is not worth the money...
i started cozy gaming for mental health reasons and your videos have helped guide me a lot. now pokemon on the switch is a comfort game for me and i’m so happy to have this new hobby 🥹
this was so helpfullllllll im so excited to get a switch as my next console!! i was thinking ab the oled & this vid just confirmed it for me :))) GIRL not you doing your magic as alwayssss 🤎

This came at the PERFECT time. After stumbling across Wylde Flowers on my phone, I was completely enamored with the idea that video games could be so sweet, soothing, calming, beautiful. After a few months of waiting to see if it was a phase or a real interest for me, I went out this afternoon and got a switch. I watched your video twice! Thanks for the excellent content. You’ve got a new subscriber!
@@narkmoop It’s so so beautiful and so sweet. I haven’t played a video game since I had a Sega as a kid and it was Sonic the Hedgehog which was incredibly stressful 😅 What an awesome world to discover now!
I love what I've played of Wylde Flowers so far, but I'm having trouble finding the last townsperson for the Mayor's quest. The premise seems super awesome and the townspeople have interesting personalities so far.
There are SO many beautiful games. It’s a shame that public perception believes games are just to shoot things or build blocks or be extremely tedious and jump a thousand times. Games can be positive things if used responsibly and correctly. It can be hard to find good games if you don’t have gaming experience (it is a highly competitive and saturated market). However, here are some hints: the best games are usually indie games. A good game to me is one where you feel invigorated and inspired after a few minutes experiencing it. Usually they are made by medium sized studios or small teams, or even just one or two people. Basically, they are passion project indie games. I don’t like consoles. They gate-keep and limit options of what you can play. Console gaming also costs more money per game. You can find way more games on PC, like on Steam or humble bundle (humble bundle donates a part of the cost of games to charities, try to buy all of your games from them!) Also, online marketplaces (steam, humble bundle, GOG, green man gaming, etc.) for games have %50-%90 sales often. I’m serious! I never buy a video game unless it is on sale. $60 is too much for a single game imo. The switch console is ok though. Another game you could try is Journey. To finish the game, you will need about the time of 1.5 movies (5 hours or something?). The game connects you with another real life player live somewhere in the world and it symbolically represents our life journey with those we love. Until the bitter end. The music was nominated for something at the Grammys or something a while back. Anyways, I was crying like a baby at the end of it and called my whole family to talk to them after lol.
Girl that helped a lot❤ You have no idea how important it is to have other girl gamer to guide you.❤ thank you for everything you do and everything you make❤
The steam deck sounds super interesting to me 👀 i have chronic pain that makes sitting at desks all but impossible and i had given up on the idea of being a PC gamer of any sort bc gaming laptops are so expensive! Knowing there’s an option I can play from bed sounds so nice!
As someone who has a Steam Deck, I absolutely love mines. It’s very customizable so you can pretty much play it like a console or a handheld system. So if you’re desktop is too uncomfortable it’s a great alternative. Especially if you don’t want to deal with a lot of PC issues. 😊

Indie games are games made by small teams of developers rather than big companies with tons of employees
What steam deck do you recommend? I love my switch.
does cozy gaming have to be neutral tones with accessories?
Nope not at all! It’s whatever makes you feel cozy!
Sorry that I just comment on this. But I think on getting a nitendo switch oled because I am done with a ps4 games. I miss comfy or slow phased games. Like build games. Is it worth it? Because the games are so expensive...
Totally worth it!! There are some really affordable indie games!
@@CozyK thank you for your reply/advice!! Much appreciated! 💕😺
I personally play games mobile and PC I am visually impaired and there's only like two games I would play on switch and for that it is not worth the money...
Do you have an alternative brand to Scandisk 1tb sd card? Paying another 100 hurts
Nooo sadly, all the 1TB ones tend to be expensiveee but the lower storage ones have worked for me for awhile!
I only have a tablet to play games, do you know any free beginner free cozy games for Apple?
💜💜
Cozy Grove
Are Switch skins removable?
i started cozy gaming for mental health reasons and your videos have helped guide me a lot. now pokemon on the switch is a comfort game for me and i’m so happy to have this new hobby 🥹
No hate on Sims, they are so mentally healthy for me. I love Sims and Virtual Villagers :)
Your hair is A Maz Ing!
You should give Zelda a chance
this was so helpfullllllll im so excited to get a switch as my next console!! i was thinking ab the oled & this vid just confirmed it for me :))) GIRL not you doing your magic as alwayssss 🤎
"You most likely have access to a PC" *sobs bc all I have is an ancient laptop that can barely run google docs*
Also on the sims: I used to have a decent $900 laptop and it took 18 hours to just download sims on it. Sims is hefty.
Mobile games sometimes grab your attention for a minute
Hey
i never been a nintendo kid, and only bought switch for acnh which is worth for me, honestly the games there are so expensive comparing to their versions on other platforms, if you are not obsessed with Nintendo games it is not worth buying
Should have mentioned discord, lol.
you're beautiful
Play gta 5
lol i have, great game. where did this surge of dudes finding this video come from?
@@CozyK RUclips occasionally finds a niche(like street food or morning routines) and features it in a playlist next to their homepage button with this little illustration. Yours is the first video on their Cozy Gaming feature, probably cause it's a great into to the rest of the creators featured!
ahhh thank you for the explanation!! i was so confused lolol
roblox has more games then children being born, so games are getting created on it in a speed of 10 000 games a second

aww yayyy!!!
SAME!!! I had no idea and now I follow a bunch and its amazeballs!!
Same!!! So hyped
I got Wylde Flowers because of Ken's video about it too! I have never finished a game all the way through but am determined to do so with this game!
@@narkmoop It’s so so beautiful and so sweet. I haven’t played a video game since I had a Sega as a kid and it was Sonic the Hedgehog which was incredibly stressful 😅 What an awesome world to discover now!
I know right! I love this channel. :)

I started as a Switch girlie and got a Steam Deck in October. Game changer! I especially love that so many games are cheaper on PC than on Switch.
Yup! That is why so many people use computers instead of consoles to play games!
yessss steam deck changed my life i can’t believe how good it is
The steam deck sounds super interesting to me 👀 i have chronic pain that makes sitting at desks all but impossible and i had given up on the idea of being a PC gamer of any sort bc gaming laptops are so expensive!
That's why I love my steam deck. And it's actually more ergonomic and hurts my hands less than my switch. Definitely recommend
