Stayed up until 1 last night...not that that had anything to do with watching band of brothers videos, mainly about Joe Liebgott...I love him. He was a great soldier.
My wife is a Liebgott. My father-in-law was Joe Liebgott’s first cousin. The real guy wasn’t as portrayed in BoB, but Hollywood never let truth get in the way of a good story.
@Donegal Danny you are totally right he was a Roman Catholic of Austrian descent- but I think Webster and a lot of the others thought he was Jewish (because of the Austrian/German he spoke and his die hard hatred of Nazi's-), supposedly Liebgott didn't correct people who thought he was Jewish so although I agree its wrong not to clarify this is in the show its not like they totally got it wrong
+Gemma Luc I read that he claimed he was Jewish, his dog tags said he was Jewish, and everyone in Easy said he was Jewish but his kids were Catholic. The mystery of Joseph Liebgott. he had a mental breakdown after the war and never contacted Easy again. Oh my God, I'm going to cry.
umm well u know he sounds like he a diehard american soldier who drives a cab in san francisco, but when you watch behind the scenes, hes british along with winters
joseph liebgott was a real soldier, and so was winters. band of brothers was based off an actual company of soldiers. easy company existed, it's just the actor that played winters was british, and the actor that played liebgott was scottish.
I love this guy :) he is my favorite by far in BoB
