Suggestion for dyeing- get more than 3 shirts, there most likely be leftover dye and niece will want to do more. Cotton socks, plain bandanas, flour sack towels or thrifted kids clothes are cheap and easy. The socks and towels will make easy gifts.
Emily, I used scraps to make what I called doll blankets for 4 of the littles in my family. They are about placemat size and match their parent’s quilts. Some were strips, some were like potato chip blocks just whatever struck my fancy and the girls loved them! 😊 Can’t wait to see what you come up with because you are so talented! 😊 How bright and beautiful is today’s quilt top! I love it! I was gifted 2 tote bags full of 12” blocks. 16 patches would be a great way to use them. Love your videos and of course Trixie! ❤
Tula Pink is one of my favorite designers. I have the original Tabby print and have already used it in quilts. I am looking forward to seeing the difference in design and making another quilt. I bought a "ROAR" layer cake and made my granddaughter a dinosaur quilt. I have two 1 yard dinosaur prints to make myself something. Welcome to the "I've sewn a complete stitch through my finger club." When I was younger, the take-up levers on the sewing machines were set out more. I would put my head close to the machine and get smashed in the forehead with that thing before I would pull my head away. Happened on a regular basis! Still, sewing and all the crazy things that happen as we do it is forever part of us. Just like breathing. Never stop learning about it. Study about the types of sewing you have no intention of doing. You'll always find processes that you can use.
My prediction for 3 yr old + tie dye = chaos .... complete and utter chaos but a huge laugh! Pretty sure a lot of us crafty mummas have attempted kiddy crafts with young kiddos (mumma over-enthusiasm is a real thing). Welcome to the club!! Can't wait for the end results.
I taught preschool for 7 years pre-covid, so I feel like this is all of that missed chaos coming back. Luckily I'm just taking on one instead of a flock of 12! 😆
I am so sorry about your finger! I hope it’s getting better each day! I think the 16 patch top is great! Stay safe! I like tie dyeing! I hope you film some of the fun!
I love the idea of tye dying your own fabric!? Lol im a hippie at heart and thats my jam! Love bright colors too so now you gave me 2 things to add to my list!! Thanks Emily!
I love dying fabric! I made a Lone Star quilt with fabric I ice dyed. Also, tone on tones dye really well the pattern stays white and the background gets the color.
Not sure if you’re aware, your lighting is unstable? It seems to radiate like a glass top stove? ( best example I could think of) only when you spoke to us The dye looks like fun! Your quilt will be awesome. Great video content Thanks
you are going to want more tie dye fabric than you think ice dyeing is so beautiful quilt backsare loveely in icedyeingtake a brush and sprikle some dots from up hi
Have fun with your niece! That sounds fun! Really pretty 16 patch.❤

I love this. I tie dye every summer with my daughter. I was thinking about doing some fabric next summer.
I have ice dyed in the past. It is time consuming, but very fun to do. You never know what will result. You need warm temps to get your ice to melt.
Good morning from San Antonio Texas. I’m the first to like. Let’s craft.
I’ve been wanting to do this 2 color 16 patch version with my leftover jelly roll strips. I think you’ve inspired me 😺
I can’t wait to see you do the tye die fabric
I missed the boat with the Tula for my area. It was all sold out…. Can’t wait to see what you make!
