Definitely Monuments, especially since Browne has been using a lot of higher tunings for a while, the bouncy string skippy stuff, the deadnote pickscrapes etc
Dude honestly, having seen YOU struggle with the takes absolutely inspired me to get back into my DAW and lay down that riff I've been procrastinating with. Perseverance!
i've been watching for a while and this might by my favorite thing you've done. also I like how no one is pointing out that this riff would be perfect in a Bleed From within track
Soooo insane dude, i really think that some noodling during the chug, would be IN-SANEEEE, need to do a second part next week man, awesome riff, as always ❤️
Dude, I have 10:43 - 10:58 looped and can listen to this for an hour straight. Exquisite riffage man. Keep it up. Also, I'm a tad old school and really enjoy the E flat tuning riffs. Please post more in this tuning. You are so good at it! 🤘😁🤘
Love these TRT’s! Love hearing the idea’s and seeing the song take form. So good! Especially love that this riff is in Eb standard - shows that it’s about the style and feel. 👌🏻
My one and only complaint that i have ever had about thicc riff thursdays is that we only get them on thursdays lmao... keep up the great work man i love your music and channel and i cant wait for more
Ah, this track reminded me of something I heard done only by Poh Hock in his songs. I think it could sound really sick if in a later section you had the riff guitar on the left and the chug guitar on the right. I know it sounds like a wonky weird idea, but idk, it could sound interesting, Poh Hock makes that stuff sound sick ahahah
E-flat standard can 100% Djent. I remember a really awesome E-standard Djent tune from another youtuber a couple years back that I still check out every so often
Tons of Protest the Hero songs are in E or E flat, it can definitely be heavy. I like how much easier it is to get techy rhythm parts to come through clearly, but do also kinda yearn for at least a low A 😂
Cattle Decapitation plays in Eb standard, at least on the couple latest albums. Check out e.g. the track Scourge of the Offspring for some high-ish tuning heaviness 🤌
Huge fan of your work, and it’s truly inspiring. I’m an aspiring engineer and I absolutely love the tone you’ve been able to get with the PV kit. I remember previous videos saying you have templates available. Where can I find those again?
I really appreciate you showing that there's nothing wrong with comping/muting some strings with a fret wrap or tape. speeding up a take for tightness here and there, especially on a time crunch. I appreciate you man!
I think if you cut the third kick on the second and fourth set of three it would sound bouncier and connect with the second half more. So, instead of: d d d _ d d d _ x _ d d d _ d d d _ d d _ d d d x d d _ d _ d _ it would be: d d d _ d d _ _ x _ d d d _ d d _ _ d d _ d _ d x d d _ d _ d _ Extra rest added on 2& of the second bar for even more bounce.
Love this one man. congrats on the studio move. If you need any artwork for some of the walls you got in there, drop a comment here and I would love to reach out with you!
My toxic trait is thinking I could write riffs like this
My toxic trait is thinking you CAN write riffs like this
To be fair he makes it look so damn easy
@@monsterfukk7737 consistent practice will have that effect
believe in the me that believes in you BlakeWalker6883, you can write riffs like this
It's actually believing you can't. WE'RE ALL GONNA MAKE IT BRAHS 💪💪💪💪💪🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣
It's giving Monuments, a little. This is fun, definitely agree it has potential to really bloom
Definitely Monuments, especially since Browne has been using a lot of higher tunings for a while, the bouncy string skippy stuff, the deadnote pickscrapes etc
I feel like writing metal in standard or flat standard is almost a lost art. Loved hearing this. Keep rocking!!!
that riff sounds a lot like ERRA! i absolutely love it
exactly my thought especially right at the beginning
"Chairs with arms " - *shivvers in guitarist*
I love your channel man - its like being in a writing session even when my band cant meet up for months.
Dude honestly, having seen YOU struggle with the takes absolutely inspired me to get back into my DAW and lay down that riff I've been procrastinating with.
Perseverance!
God this is so Protest the Hero-y
In the best way
It's like a modern version of Lamb of God, and I dig it
i've been watching for a while and this might by my favorite thing you've done. also I like how no one is pointing out that this riff would be perfect in a Bleed From within track
Soooo insane dude, i really think that some noodling during the chug, would be IN-SANEEEE, need to do a second part next week man, awesome riff, as always ❤️
It's been over 6 months. It's time to comment a Hedwig's theme reminder
🦉
ITS BEEN SIX MONTHS??!!
@@Oniysiel last time he worked on it was beginning of January I believe
Hoo?
the riff is sooooo good 🔥🔥 but i honestly appreciate actually showing the struggle of recording stuff even more, utmost respect

Sick riff, man! Love E flat standard. I took a whole year writing singles in that tuning and it definitely brought more inspiration to writing. 🤙🏽
SICK RIFFAGE AS USUAL! GIVES ME TRIVIUM VIBES
Sounds like something Olly Steele would do!
Excellent way to break out of monotony or to spur creativity! Can’t wait to see what Thick Riffs come out of the new studio!
Make a bad riff: level impossible. FAVOURITE DAY OF THE WEEK
hell yeah, you went on full monuments vibe! and I've just kept smiling with the chug face. awesome riff work
Huge Polaris "the mortal coil" vibes on this one. Love it
5:05 the curse of the record button is so real 😂
Reminds me of Monuments, love it.
This better become a full song! Great episode :)
the method of recording Nick uses is just so straightforward, I could learn a thing or two from this lol
Love these TRT’s! Love hearing the idea’s and seeing the song take form. So good! Especially love that this riff is in Eb standard - shows that it’s about the style and feel. 👌🏻
Thx for the tip about taping the top strings! I'm always palm muting shit that I shouldn't have to just to get a good take
Something open chugs in standard tuning, they just hit so hard and feel so right
Nicely done Nick. I've learned a lot watching how you approach making riffs.
Aaaaabsolute banger! Thank you for your service
My one and only complaint that i have ever had about thicc riff thursdays is that we only get them on thursdays lmao... keep up the great work man i love your music and channel and i cant wait for more

Hey that sounds interesting, raw and unplugged like that, with a bit of the signal i nthe background do a song with that type of bass!
That bass tone is magnificent
Omg that riff SLAPS so HARD
Sounds like a riff you would hear on a trivium - the crusade album. Sick.
I play in F# standard (wonderwall tuning) and I love how it sounds.
so sick!! its giving me dem Monuments vibes
ahhh man those muted chugs are so flippin crispy
I love the smile on your face when you know you wrote a SICK RIFF!!
One of the heaviest Thursdays yet. This is soo sick 🤘🤙
Big polaris vibes🔥🔥🔥
almost has an old lamb of god feel to it
Some great 12am riffage to unwind to
Love the videos man! They're super inspiring keep up the thick riffs and amazing content!
It sounds like MONUMENTS ❤
I need a full version of this song!!!
Ooh, I see you're using the Tortex Flow 0.73mm picks. Good choice!
Been sneaking peaks at the studio process on your Instagram page, looking forward to seeing the end result! ❤
Ah, this track reminded me of something I heard done only by Poh Hock in his songs. new studio looks sick dude!!
This tuning is so refreshing
thats riff hits absolutely insane
That riff grooves so hard!
Going back into the first riff after the breakdown but with double time drums (snares on 2 and 4) would sound epic!
👍for difficulty factor 10 and lmao at 5:22 - awesome results btw.
5:06 "please be able to do that while you record" i feel this in my soul
What is it about that little red button 😭
Revocation esq, love it
Sounds like a mix of August Burns Red and Lamb of God. Super sick! 🔥🤘🏻
Erra vibes abound. Jesse would be proud!!
Honestly, if you fade the riff in with an open power chord to lead into a groovy little drum fill to pop it off, you've got an opening/verse there
That ‘cheeka’ moment hits different.
Love how you write. Dope shit!
Thanks dude! Appreciate ya 🤘
John Browne would be proud
Str8 John Browne vibes 🔥
E-flat standard can 100% Djent. I remember a really awesome E-standard Djent tune from another youtuber a couple years back that I still check out every so often
That was clean as hell
Tons of Protest the Hero songs are in E or E flat, it can definitely be heavy. I like how much easier it is to get techy rhythm parts to come through clearly, but do also kinda yearn for at least a low A 😂

Honey, wake up new Make Them Suffer dropped. The Nicks have collab'd lol
This is freaking sick
No one:
Nick while shifting: Execute Episode 66
You make it look so easy. 🔥Riff
Djent with a 6 string in close to standard tuning is basically just Monuments :D very cool!
TRT today was a little out of the box and i loved it, how about a TRT episode on the backyard, or inside Camila's closet?!
"Let's try it. If I die, I die." 😂
Bro, I feel this. Hard. Nice though.
YES ORGANIC BASS
A BASS GUITAR??! WHAT A RARITY!!!! 😂
Brutal!
This is badass
SO FIRE
love standard tunings solely because of the possibility to play those inverted/stacked 5th power chords, literally the heaviest sound known to man
Huge fan of your work, and it’s truly inspiring. I’m an aspiring engineer and I absolutely love the tone you’ve been able to get with the PV kit. I remember previous videos saying you have templates available. Where can I find those again?
This is so fkn sick
Damn, this made me sub. Impressive.
That breakdown riff has got me imagining a massive saw drone opening up over two or four bars
STANNNNKk!!! 🤘🖤
It's Thursday babyyyyyy!
I really appreciate you showing that there's nothing wrong with comping/muting some strings with a fret wrap or tape. speeding up a take for tightness here and there, especially on a time crunch. I appreciate you man!
instantly sylosis 😍
that's a day for left leg dude
Bangers
About time you did Eb standard.
I think if you cut the third kick on the second and fourth set of three it would sound bouncier and connect with the second half more. So, instead of:
d d d _ d d d _ x _ d d d _ d d
d _ d d _ d d d x d d _ d _ d _
it would be:
d d d _ d d _ _ x _ d d d _ d d
_ _ d d _ d _ d x d d _ d _ d _
Extra rest added on 2& of the second bar for even more bounce.
Got me headbangin on the toilet I will not lie
huge erra vibes
That was solid man great work. Also I was like #500 😎✌️💯
I wouldn't have doubled the bass with the riff, but the riff is sick as hell.
Super sick sounds like Monuments
sounds like polaris especially the breakdown
Love this one man. congrats on the studio move. If you need any artwork for some of the walls you got in there, drop a comment here and I would love to reach out with you!
dude so cool
Keep in mind…
Meshuggah used 6-strings in Eb standard on their very first record
