Tchaikovsky: Piano Concerto No. 1 - Diablo Symphony Orchestra

The First Piano Concerto by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) is one of the most popular of Tchaikovsky's compositions, and best known piano concertos in the repertoire. Performed by the Diablo Symphony Orchestra (Matilda Hofman, Music Director) and Christopher Richardson on February 24, 2019 at the Lesher Center of the Arts. Christopher Richardson, winner of the 2019 Yen Liang Young Artists Competition, is a resident of Danville. A National Chopin Foundation scholarship recipient and YoungArts Winner, he studies piano with Mack McCray.
This recording includes an introductory interview with Christopher Richardson, as well as a recent performance of Astor Piazzola's Ave Maria (Tanti Anni Prima) by members of the DSO Strings.
