In high school, before I went away to play on scholarship, I had a way to get into the Palestra late at night and practiced from 10-11pm past midnight many nights. Just one basket spotlight on. Pitch dark except for a cone of light from the hoop to pretty much right at the 3 point line. It was almost like basketball church. In those conditions the sound, sight, and feeling of a perfect deep jumper (shot from the dark into the light) is something that can't be described... only experienced.
Greatest matchup in Big 5 History - Both Teams in the top 10 in the country and two players whom would go on to be 1st Team All Americans Howard Porter and Ken Durrett. At this time these were the 2 best recruits ever in the big 5 history. Their legacy will live on for the older generation forever. thanks for posting this wonderful game
Great stuff. Thanks for posting this
Great times! Great basketball! A wonderful way to finish out a wonderful decade! A decade in which will never be repeated...

Wish there were Penn games from that era out there.
Notice that after the struggle on the floor at 1:20:09, that the players from both teams, all attempted to diffuse the situation.
I've never liked the three-pointer, and watching this game just drives home (pun intended) that feeling even more.
