As a native German, I can confirm that the translation is quite successful. A few special words such as "Herrhaufen" and "Schnitter" evoke particularly dark feelings in the German language, as they are associated with a kind of medieval cruelty.
Hi, I very love this song and I understand that a story about a guy who play drum in battlefront, die and play in hell. A girl wirh german origin say to me this song can be understand with the drums is the symbol of a gun. Is it a possibility ?
@@benamsg1365 Quite an interesting idea. However, in my opinion the song alludes to a time when firearms were the exception or not yet very well developed. The song talks about “Landsknechte” and they fall into a certain era. Landsknecht "Mostly German mercenary of the late 15th and 16th centuries, whose primary weapon was the pike, based on the Swiss model of the rice runner.
@@benamsg1365 There are images and stories of death as a physical figure playing a drum. This represents the heartbeat of life and its extinguishment ultimately marks its end. Absurd also use this topic in other texts. Therefore, this interpretation seems more likely to me. In the end, of course, everything can be freely interpreted.
thank you. I was looking for a good fan video of this epic song, it is very nice. Really like the drawing "Der tod geht voran"! The song is not the best vocal quality but i like it.
If I ever start playing music I just know I need to make it sound as evil as Absurd, fucking love this sound. Similar thing lyric wise but not the exact same way. Death, war, hatred, misanthropia, anti religion etc.
So I just found this on telegram, but from looking online, and I'll preempt saying this is not absolutely certain but I believe I'm correct, it’s a piece called "Der Tod geht voran" created by Wilhelm Petersen in 1943. I think der tod geht voran means something like "death marched forward". very perfect piece for this song. thanks for asking :)
one of the most beautiful modern songs
It's beautiful because it's against everything modern
