I think the main reason this is happening is that more and more people (creators and consumers alike) are getting fed up with the content on Instagram & TikTok. People are longing for things that actually have meaning, that will still be relevant 48hours after posting and that are slower paced. And, after all those years, RUclips is still the best (and kind of the only) place, where content like this is actually appreciated.

    • @HoneeVibez

this is so true, I recently deleted instagram, in fact because the short term reward of watching reels and seeing stories was, not only not fulfilling, but at the same time addictive. It was a self feeding loop of time wasting and just badness for me. I've been turning to youtube more as a source of entertainment, and the content I've been finding actually makes me reflect on life and it makes me think for myself. This new wave being somewhat in the center of it all!

While the YT algorithm definitely has issues, it has also definitely done its job correctly in this case by promoting this EXCELLENT video, and making it your most watched video so far. The message is excellent as well, and I hope RUclips takes it to heart and gets back to being a platform that prioritizes creators telling real stories, not corporations selling products.

Enough people call for it then it will. It just depends on how passionate you are about change. Change is always uncomfortable but if we stop ourselves from changing we stop growing. 10 years ago, they said the internet wouldn’t change anything. Now, everything we do is connected to the internet in some way whether you participate or don’t. The internet changed our world and now we get to change the internet.

@@Sayor.o think of it as a blank canvas, no one really knew at first what they were doing they just knew they wanted to do something. There was a lot of experimenting with content. Quality nor quantity of production mattered. It was raw and unfiltered. People didnt view the consequences they just shared parts of themselves. Most were comedy skits even if it was low quality and story lines or how to do x or y things. Exploring new oportunities interests or creating stuff. It had a level of authenticity because it was something that wasnt done before or at least put on camera. It was for the fun and enjoyment. Kinda like tiktok in 2020 new things and a sense of community came. Yet canceling people didnt exist but people would express if they didnt like something. Influencers now influencing or promotions existed content existed for the sake of it unless u promoted ur own brand. Its taken on a heavy and serious note what u put on socials now in days. People think it twice and are more private and professional about things dont share their lives as much and try to avoid conflict being more filtered. Some directing their content to serious notes. Yt seems more like a job now when in the past it was a hobby

My 2024 mantra is, "How do you want to spend your time." It's a simple way of looking at things I know, but it's my focus, especially this year. I'm no longer concerned about algorithms. I want my life back and no billion dollar corporations are going to define that for me. Come what may, I'm going down this path to have fun. I want to enjoy it and especially the people that are truly in my life on line and off I know as friends. Great post! Our success (in the big picture) isn't measured with clicks, views, comments, or algorithms like really. It's genuine connection, conversation, and sharing what's real and creative that makes the real human connection possible.

in this video you spoke about creators who have tasteful content, i feel you yourself made such an amazing video with a soul and with the heart at the right place, the way you spoke about youtube being exciting again made me feel good. I was so drawn to this video. Way to go brother :)

I also feel the same. But creating cinematic videos aren’t easy and very time consuming, so these kind of shift on RUclips means lots of hard work behind fun to watch videos…😅Merry Christmas and Happy new year to you 🥂🎄

Yes!!!! Always keep in mind that the algorithm is only a reflection of what the people want. The algorithm follows what behaviors people show it. So, as people change this platform will always change. It’s a cool time to be a creator and just today I’m going to say I’ve noticed the platform pushing smaller creators and I’m so grateful because I follow all the people you mentioned but now I found you!!!!!! ❤ whoohooo

I agree with you so much. I started to post on RUclips last year and I’d say, as a new content creator, that I was bombarded with videos and shorts about “ how to grow you channel” or “how to beat the algorithm”. I think it definitely had an impact on me, in the sense that seeing that others seemed to care so much about the algorithm, I also started to care and obsess over it. It shouldn’t be that way and I appreciate so much that you talked about this. As a vlogger, I try my best to show my life as simple as it is, and letting go of how many people will watch my videos or not. I simply create and so do other amazing creators out there. I hope that this new wave of creators will bring more freedom, less caring about niche-posting and more about being authentic and creative. Love the video❤

Absolutely feel the same! I’m excited for my journey in creating stuff that just feels nice to me. I don’t think the stuff I’m making now would have even been seen by more than 24 ppl a few years ago.
I even notice it on my recommended. I’m being exposed to more smaller creators and I think it’s so nice to see!

As for this video, this was beautifully shot, you are so well spoken and I find it very inspiring.

I agree! I feel like RUclips wasn't hitting like it used to. But after stumbling upon Life of Riza's channel, it gave me the same feeling I had when first coming across Casey Neistat years ago. So much so that it inspired me to start creating! RUclips is fun again.
