Hey Doc, I agree with you but 3Shape is 100% confident about their wireless direction. To be honest, I have been using the scanner for over 5 months now and have had no problems at all. Just make sure you have batteries spare, which is easy with the charging dock. Its a wireless great scanner.
Hey there! Huge differences. In my humble opinion, if TRIOS 5 is available in your region, there is little reason to buy TRIOS 4. T5 is a huge improvement. The battery life is better, it is smaller, and scanning feels better. Overall, it is a great product. How far away from the computer can you be while scanning? If I want to run a remote desktop like splashtop to the laptop, could I use this anywhere in my office (within a 20 ft radius)?
Both scan well. Medit is popular because it is more economical, has the best scanner software and apps. TRIOS 5 is popular because it is the 3Shape ecosystem, scans edentulous well and the new scanner has a great ergonomic design and is very lightweight. You cannot go wrong with either - I suggest you try both and see which one you like
