It's called being a judge, many judges do the same job. Just because you see her on camera you think she's the best and only judge in Merica lol.
The brown nosing on RUclips is 🤮 no real depth in comments at all just typical American praise.

If you know you aren't going to have the self control to not drive drunk, and you drink, pay the money for the interlock yourself when you are sober to protect yourself from yourself. Simple. That's what'd they'd do if they ACTUALLY wanted to stop drinking and driving.

It's interesting how many people have no idea the proper decorum for a court of law. I'm not sure the judge should have to tell someone to remove his hat and to have a seat. Don't they have baillifs or other court employees who could monitor people as they enter the courtroom and tell them those things? I remember once when a young woman showed up on Judge Judy with half of her chest hanging out and Judge Judy halted the proceedings and told Bird to go see if he could find a "smock" for her to put on. That stuck with me because she didn't tell him to find a jacket or a sweater but to find a smock. She waited until the lady was decently covered up before she continued with the case. I've also heard Judge Judy admonish people who show up in shorts and flip-flops and she won't make them leave but she will ask them if they thought they were going to the beach. It seems like many people think because its being televised that it isn't a real courtroom but Judge Judy is a real judge and her rulings are binding so I would take that as meaning the courtroom is pretty "real".

There is a decorum for court as a direct result of elitism. Attendance is required. Nothing else. The courts decision is supposed be derived from fact based evidence and should not be biased by preconceived notions based on appearance. Expecting people who are showing up to court, that can’t afford to pay a speeding ticket, to buy a suit is nonsensical. Your perceived disrespect may actually be a lack of financial means or an actual lack of knowledge. I remember my first court appearance for a parking ticket. I had no idea how I was supposed to dress. Fortunately I had parents to guide me through that process. Scale back your judgement and introduce yourself to the reality that exists outside of your perspective.

@@reesaallen5474Appropriate attire is mandatory for any appearances in Texas Court, whether as a participant in a case, a witness or an observer. This not only helps maintain decorum but shows respect for our nation's laws and Courts. As a general rule, you should think of the Courtroom as a formal environment. No clothing displaying offensive words or pictures (the Court retains the exclusive right to define offensive on an individual basis) No exposed midriffs. No hats. No shorts.
So she's not thinking in her perspective, she's correct-you're just incorrect.

@@JP_IN_TX that’s any easy feat for someone in the position to afford clothing specifically for court. Showing up of court is a mandatory requirement. Expecting people who are barely surviving to use money they don’t have to buy clothes because you prefer for them to meet your standards is ridiculous. Not everyone is privileged enough to afford the luxury of new clothing and judging them based on their appearance is unconstitutional.

@@TinaO-pn7jx You miss my point. He already pleaded guilty anyway before the evidence was shown. Yes, there may be evidence, and the criminal, innocent or guilty, may think he cannot win a jury trial, thus taking a deal. But, once pleading guilty, why does the charade of giving evidence need to go further by the state. He admitted it. But, the other replies seem to answer my question. Thanks anyway.

@@jtg3765Everything has to be documented in every court, and in every hearing. Often appeals rely upon these files. Documents may be lost to time, accident (fire), or misplaced. Every judge must make note of them in his/her case file and have them stored accordingly. There have been innocent people released from prison after decades of incarceration based on one item filed away in some courthouse somewhere. The justice system is (ideally) set up to protect the rights of the accused, the convicted and the People.

Its interesting as someone who doesnt live in America, but I have been watching alot of these cases and all of the lawyers. All of them have trouble speaking articulating or even understanding and conveying law. It seems that the bar is set very very low and I wonder if some of these lawyers are in training. This would be frowned upon in any other country. Its really laughable watching them struggle with the basics of the English language and some of them in some of the ones I have watched are so old and clearly senile they have no right to be working. Love the channel love the cases. They really dress down for court as well.
