Kailasagiri Umamaheshwara Temple for trekking and great view route towards this temple is wonderful (going there is preferable in the morning) after that you can go to parunthumpara & valanjanganam waterfalls,
Varattumedu & Urumbikkara for off-road. There’s Madamakkulam waterfalls near urumbikkara & palozhukum chola waterfalls near varattumedu
Uluppuni top station, tunnel & waterfalls
Infinity Pool Vagamon
These are some offbeat locations other than the regular tourist spots

Definitely bro you can go till uluppuni tunne by car but for uluppuni top station you’ll need 4x4. You can also try vagamon meadows. kailasagiri is also a great spot 32km from vagamon, it’s great for spending some good time with no crowd around. Also try elaveezhapunchira which is near vagamon

Bro the usual route is through pala -erattupetta route. You can try the route which I mentioned in this video ie through kuttikanam. You have to deviate from pala to mundakkayam for this route. On the way you can visit panchali medu, valanjanganam and parunthumpara
The next option is through ilaveezhapoonchira, illikal kallu & maramala waterfalls. Just add this points as stops in google map. Both the routes are worth travelling. You can opt one while going and the other while returning from vagamon
