@surfsd7, La Jolla is not a city, but a rather rich coastal community in the extreme northern part of the city of San Diego. Not only is UCSD there, but so is, among other things, the famous Torrey Pines golf course, which is home to an annual PGA Tour event, as well as the 2008 U.S. Open (and possibly another U.S. Open in the future), the University Town Center, and other significant places, but La Jolla is not a city onto itself.
