    I love how Joe geeks out about his gear , not only is he an incredible guitarist but he knows and appreciates the gear! Saw him live about 5 years ago , 10th row on the floor and it was amazing watching him play live!

    I happened to be at Gruhn the day after Joe bought that guitar and got to hear the story from an employee. That was a blast.

      His passion shines through. He’s not a guitar snob, he’s in a fortunate place obviously but he’s a guitar geek too. I try to dislike him (out of jealousy) but I can’t.

    I remember seeing him locally way back in the day when we called him “Smokin’ Joe” because of the fire coming off his fretboard. He was a local favorite and wasn’t even from here.
    He’s earned every inch of his success !

    There's something about black strats and red strats with white pick guards, they always look very basic / cheap to me.

    Some heavy strats sounds awesome. I have one 4kg ash strat witch sounds fantastic with such a depth.

    JB seems to get a lot of grief from the cheap seats.
    i ALWAYS enjoy watching his vids or JB interviews or gear stuff with JB - stellar player, unarguably!
    a wealth of info and history!
    and i agree with Andrew below, such a nice guy.
    and now i don't feel so bad with my 9-1/2 pound Fender Jazz bass.

    Yngwie black's strat is older. March of 54. Check his interviews with that guitar.

    I know I'm going to get a lit of flack for what I'm about to say, I believe he is over rated... how guys like Scott Henderson don't get the recognition he deserves..

      @@deepzepp4176 his playing is uninspired. He doesn't bring anything unique to the table. If he did, we all would know what it is by now. But what he instead is known for is owning tons and tons of vintage expensive gear.

      @@BreadandFaxes He’s known by his fans (and detractors, it seems) to own lots of vintage gear, but most people know him as a blues rock guitarist. His music may not inspire you, but it obviously does some people. What’s he meant to bring to the table that’s unique? What do expect him to be doing?

      @@deepzepp4176 he's a musician. I care about music, not individual guitar players. He gives me personally no reason to pay attention to him. And I see that same sentiment all over this comment section and any of Norms Rare Guitars videos.
      It's fine to like someone, but you also have to realize that other people can have opinions that don't line up with yours.
