New York hosted the 1st ever international cricket test in 1844, when The USA played Canada, at a cricket club ground just off what is now Broadway.

@@cricketexplained8526 Could you imagine how much that much land would be worth today. They were priced out in the 1850's and moved to Harlem. After the civil war they were supposed to get a ground in central park, but it never materialised and they relocated to new jersey.

ICC needs to focus on countries like mongolia/uzbekistan/east timor/turkey/tajikistan/rwanda etc where people showed some interest in playing cricket. Not in countries like usa or canada or germany where the teams are basically south asian reunion 11!
in Turkey 95 % domestic players are South Asians. Just the actual national team is Turkish but in domestic cricket the South Asians destroy them. In Tajikistan most players were Afghans and Pakistanis a few years ago, not sure about now though

Same way here in UK the Pashtun Afghans like cricket and the Tajik Afghans a lot of them haven't even heard of Rashid Khan. In Tajikistan there are many Pashtun refugees too.

They would have to fill in the lower bowl of the stadium with dirt and rocks to make it large enough and to prevent flooding which would reduce the capacity by a few thousands of seats but would make it the correct shape.
