I only discovered it two days ago haha What a trip! Losing our home in the bushfires late last year has set us back immensely, and now we’re in a small granny flat because the real estate market post fires was just non existent, so we’ve had to move into a much smaller place with a really small yard and two dogs, so this would be absolutely perfect for us. Your comment was nine months ago, did you end up getting one or was just intrigued by the concept? Cheers mate, my buying one will be from other people’s opinions and how it’s worked for them
If you spray silicone onto the bottom of a CLEAN, DRY mower, you’ll find little or no debris will stick. A single application in the spring keeps my Ego mower clean all season long.
great to hear the background noise (at the start )to gauge how loud it really is. Everyone else covers robomowers vids it with music to try and enhance the thier work !
As someone that has a busy job and family life it has made a real difference to me and taken a 2 - 3 hour job down to a 20 min tidy up of the edges once every couple of weeks
Gerren Mayne thanks for your opinion, I actually never heard of them until I went to get some chainsaw chains and was ‘wtf is that’ hahaha I’ve just moved from a house to a granny flat after losing my house in the fires here in Aus late last year, it’s only got a small yard to it and this seems like a perfect device to help around the place 👌 Thanks Gerren 👍🏻
I live across from a park with lots of foot traffic. I think this would last a week tops before it's stolen... Gone in 3 days most likely. I would need a "Find my Automower" option with GPS.
Probably have to expand your services, you could probably make a good living doing sales, installation, and service of these. Plus it dosent do things like string trim, edge, or aerate.
Jonas Hey Jonas you are an arrogant prick!!! In my part of the world these guys (and gals) make more than most college grads,,, easily into six figures. And at least they aren’t asking everyone else to pay for their worthless liberal arts/gender studies/theater arts (and every other piece of crap) degree cuz they cant afford to pay it themselves on their pittance of a salary!!!
What type of grass do you have, fescue, bluegrass or? I live in Missouri USA and I mow my grass about three inches high. I would love to see how this would perform on my sloping yard. Thank you for your videos
Hi Kelli, My lawn is made up of fescue, ryegrass and meadow grass. I would day it would be able to handle your lawn but you may find you would have to change the blades more often. In terms of slopes the automower will handle a slope up to 45%. Thanks for the feedback and I hope that answers your question.
You won't a get a nice striped cutting pattern if that's what you like. I know I do. And if for some reason your grass gets tall, you'd probably have to use a regular mower. I'm also curious if it will cut southern turf grasses such as Centipede and St. Augustine.
True and if you want a stripped lawn then you need to purchase a mower with a roller. In terms of height of the lawn, I had mine tucked away in the garage over winter and then set the Automower out in the spring with long grass with no issues at all - I started at a higher cutting length and then gradually reduced it. In terms of southern specific grasses I can't really comment being from the UK, however my automaker will easily cut through fallen leaves and small twigs so I believe it would work. Give your nearest Husqvarna dealer a call as I am sure they could either demo a unit or show you one locally in action
Hi Tina, no the automaker has a bump sensor so slows down when it approaches an object like a tree and then when it touches it will stop, turn and then go off in a different direction
It varies according to the time of year. I started this spring at 5 as the grass was long having not been mowed since November. I have now moved it gradually down to 3 but last summer was running at 2.
It is a great concept but I have 4 acres to mow weekly and this thing is not going to keep up. I hope within the next ten years or so they come up with something a little more industrial...
@@garyphilpott8755 yeah I getting 4 separate machines would be a bit expensive, especially when these are already out pricing most riding lawn mowers. What they really need is a mower that doesn't work like a Roomba but rather Maps the area and then mows efficiently, that would allow the robot to cover a lot more ground on a much smaller battery and would allow it to cover a much bigger area because you can program it to go by sections rather than random exploration.
This is one of the stupidest ideas I've seen in a long time. Random mowing, stupid, how long does it take before all the lawn is cut? Maybe a 24/7 for a month.
Damn this thing is 3yrs old. I'm just seeing this for the first time 2019

what a gorgeous lawn!

Thank you for your review, I really would like to buy one. seems like a very benificial product for your lawn.
Thanks for your feedback Martin. Having had an Automower for two very wet but humid months, there is no way I would go back to an old mower now.
I work for bunnings and a customer ordered one of these and I was shocked because I never knew it existed
I will differently think about this one when a get my home. I love the peace of mind aspect of it.

it has that...
@Noel V they dont do that, but they do start screaming bloody murder.
What's the grass?
Thanks for the review,i am looking for one, just don't know what brand I would buy
Hi it's 3200 m2. If your lawn is bigger Husqvarna do the larger 450X model that will cut up to 5000m2
That was the answer to my question on another of your videos - thank you!
can it work on a steep hill
Oh Great, I guess that I am going to be replaced by a robot
Probably not.
Hey, Darryl, sorry, but you did not go to college, so you have to take the jobs you can get.

Have you considered taking up weeding? lol

I'm seriously thinking about purchasing this.
@M. Mangredi Can dogs flip it by accident?

Does it eliminate "weed eating" around trees and privacy fence??
Nope

how do they operate?
are they sensored or programed?
is it battery power?
You can also buy the ones powered by rocket fuel
You have to cast the grasscutting spell on it, but you need level 7 in Alteration.
Do you let it just bump the trees? It looks like trying to outline them all would be too crazy and leave too many tufted spots.
Hi Tina, no the automaker has a bump sensor so slows down when it approaches an object like a tree and then when it touches it will stop, turn and then go off in a different direction
What is your mowing hight? I just bought the Same 430X.

Thanks ! I Will keep you informed.
@@Gerren Its my understanding that a 5 setting is 1.6 " long, but a 2, thats near 1" or less correct? Seems really short?
how big is your garden,i am loking to husqvarna 430x ,my garden 2500sqm,would it handle it
Yes the 430x will handle 3200m2
Is it waterproof
Myhhyn Ally For rain, yes, but you cant spray water on the underside
Hi, yes and I have mine running in all weathers. Here in the Uk it usually is raining so this is a real advantage over a normal mower
It is a great concept but I have 4 acres to mow weekly and this thing is not going to keep up. I hope within the next ten years or so they come up with something a little more industrial...
Aaron Carter you need to purchase a proportional amount of mowers. the 450 is good for 1acre, therefore you need 4 machines.

Does this thing just cut in random patterns? Curious. Thanks!
David Fox Ye, it doesn't cut straight lane to lane, just random lanes zig zagging
Hi David, Yes random as running in straight lines would create, over time, lane marks in the lawn made by the wheels
Nice..
It will not cut st Augustine
I live in Florida. I don't think it would work on St Augustine or Bahiagrass here. 👍
no grass clippings. they are all stuck to the mower
