I am an Independent Moderate and heres my take on the debate.... VANCE-He was very smooth, didnt answer many questions but instead deflected and continually used his first minute with fluff and last minute attempting to answer the questions and sometimes lied but did it looking straight in our faces. But if you dont follow politics he sounded convincing. Definitely can tell he got an Ivy League education. He was definitely schooled on how to not be himself but portray what he wanted the American people to think of him instead and he acted that out flawlessly something Trump couldnt do. He continually agreed on many points with Walz but he didnt hurt trump and I give him points for being more calm when telling lies and deceiving you. Thats the republican party though lie, deflect, blame others, and smooth talking, etc. Vance broke away from his party and admitted they had challenges, I give him credit for that too. If you like a slickster lying to you with a straight face Vance is for you. WALZ-He was obviously nervous which we knew that going in. It took awhile for him to warm up. It was clear agriculture, a womans right, and family is important to him. I think he had been drilled on this debate a tad bit too much and thats where his focus was instead of letting his true personality shine through. We have come too accustomed to seeing drama in our politics and he was folksy, kind, and a little more friendly with Vance than I am sure people wanted to see him. He also agreed with things Vance said and failed to call out Vance on his many lies. He fumbled on explaining the lie he himself told but at least he did accept responsibility and coined himself as a "knucklehead". That wasn't a good look in my opinion, we are already combating a knucklehead who is trying to get in power. But I dont feel like he would harm me or the American people and I KNOW trump would. Oh, I don’t know about all that. Walz sure blew a lot of fire at the rallies. On his first night at the podium, he declared “I can’t wait to debate the guy!” Looks like that fire cooled down very quickly once a debate date was set. Reality hit when Walz realized that his debate skills paled in comparison to Vance’s. His campaign advisors probably coached him to keep it reined in, stay on message and just “survive” the debate in decent shape. He was never going to win it, and didn’t need to.

I am an Independent Moderate and heres my take on the debate....
VANCE-He was very smooth, didnt answer many questions but instead deflected and continually used his first minute with fluff and last minute attempting to answer the questions and sometimes lied but did it looking straight in our faces. But if you dont follow politics he sounded convincing. Definitely can tell he got an Ivy League education. He was definitely schooled on how to not be himself but portray what he wanted the American people to think of him instead and he acted that out flawlessly something Trump couldnt do. He continually agreed on many points with Walz but he didnt hurt trump and I give him points for being more calm when telling lies and deceiving you. Thats the republican party though lie, deflect, blame others, and smooth talking, etc. Vance broke away from his party and admitted they had challenges, I give him credit for that too.

WALZ-He was obviously nervous which we knew that going in. It took awhile for him to warm up. It was clear agriculture, a womans right, and family is important to him. I think he had been drilled on this debate a tad bit too much and thats where his focus was instead of letting his true personality shine through. We have come too accustomed to seeing drama in our politics and he was folksy, kind, and a little more friendly with Vance than I am sure people wanted to see him. He also agreed with things Vance said and failed to call out Vance on his many lies. He fumbled on explaining the lie he himself told but at least he did accept responsibility and coined himself as a "knucklehead". That wasn't a good look in my opinion, we are already combating a knucklehead who is trying to get in power. But I dont feel like he would harm me or the American people and I KNOW trump would.
If you like a small town man that exaggerates sometimes and has a horrible poker face than Walz is for you.
They both explained well their changes on positions and policies i think. They actually talked about policy more than the presidential candidates did at their debate.
I think the deciding factor for me wasn't either one of them really. Its Vance inability to say trump lost and explain his and trump position on an abortion ban. Its the concept of a plan after 9 years and wanting to repeal ObamaCare that sealed it for me.
I am a woman with a medically fragile child that believes in our democracy. So its not trump, harris, walz, or vance, its simply freedom and democracy for me. They are interchangeable but those two things and Project 2025 for me are not!
So I will be voting blue to protect freedom for women across this nation no matter where you live, accepting the results of the people that voted, and protecting pre-existing conditions!

Oh, I don’t know about all that. Walz sure blew a lot of fire at the rallies. On his first night at the podium, he declared “I can’t wait to debate the guy!” Looks like that fire cooled down very quickly once a debate date was set. Reality hit when Walz realized that his debate skills paled in comparison to Vance’s. His campaign advisors probably coached him to keep it reined in, stay on message and just “survive” the debate in decent shape. He was never going to win it, and didn’t need to.

Not everybody goes to a rallies. Rallies don’t go to every state and county. Many people are not trying to stream those rallies on RUclips. Most Americans will only get short clips from the rallies and press conferences.
The only campaign-related events that make it into our living rooms live and uncut are the Republican National Convention, the Democratic National Convention, the Presidential debates and the Vice-Presidential debates.

I was quite shocked with some Vance’s denials and lies, like his statement about January 6 or Vance lying that democrats denied that Trump won the election against Hillary , when the whole world still remember that famous phone call Hillary made the very same evening to concede and congratulate Trump on his victory ... yet Trump had no decency to do the same he sent maga to attack Capitol instead! with words "Fight like hell or you will not have country anymore!"
Remember Tim Walz was debate prepped by Pete Buddiggeg……Pete B. Is a very serious stick-to-the-issues guy…..and I could see that influence coming through in Tim Walz debate style.
Honesty is still the best policy. It always will be, even if the GOP voter 42%, or whatever it is, is either fascist or dumber than a bag of nails.
Took a drink every time Vance mentioned Kamala & LIED. Was too drunk at the end of the debate to even turn my tv off.

After watching this debate I have no confidence in Tim Walz leadership as VP. The same goes to Kamala Harris as President of this Nation. Important Issues are Immigration & Economy which affect EVERYONE in this country.

When comes to insurance, my husband had lung cancer and sadly he couldn’t get insurance due to Trump’s policy. It was horrible. We lost everything.

I disagree that Walz needed to call JD Vance weird. That trend is done just like brat summer. Walz still remains way more likable and actually came off much more earnest. This debate doesn’t sway anyone. Let’s vote!
