      Hi, Hy! I’m cool, man.
      What you think about the video topic?

    This was DEEP! This comment will be long...
    As a multi-cultural American... it was tough growing up. I could not seem to be accepted by any of the 3 cultures no matter how (insert culture) I tried to be. It was Highschool that changed me. Then, after so many disgusting people made their mark, i decided to just be AJ. Not the category people needed to feel safe with me. I used to tell people that asked the, "what are you?" question that my family immigrated to the US from Antarctica during the big ice famine of the '80's. 🤣😂 The latest lesson on this topic was the realisation that here in Germany, I am an American. In America, I am black. In my heart, I am simply me. 🫡🇩🇪

    I don't know the doll experiment you're referring to in your video. but the questions asked there feel a lot like suggestive questions. Children are very sensitive to mood and tone and can almost instinctively feel what answer is expected from them. If the experiment had been designed more openly, the results would certainly have been more varied.

    Hey Chris thank you for this video! I appreciate your transparency and you allowing us to see into your journey.
    One question: Do you think there is any intersectionality conversation present in Germany or to phrase differently: do you think intersectionality gets taken into consideration with the German beauty standards (like what is in media-from the German perspective) if the American beauty standards to you perpetuate the idea of negativity towards darker skin individuals?

      Funny thing is, I personally don’t think Germany HAS beauty standards in the way the US does. The people here don’t really emotionally invest in those things. From the clothes they were, to the physical features. A lot of ANYTHING that looks like it’s adhering to something similar to the standards of what “beauty” is supposed to be, is simply the mocking of American culture. They’ve not been socially manipulated into believing that it’s the way, they’re just running away with being influenced.
      I have to say that this is only my opinion though, before someone gets mad at me.😅

    Didn´t Michael Jackson start much of this shit with his "bleaching"?

    • @ChristopherLRussell
      @ChristopherLRussell  3 месяца назад +1

      Not sure if he "started" it or not. But he def did it. He always said it was in leu of his skin disease. And thats still my man, so I'm not tryna play him out in the video, just mentioning that he was one that bleached.👍🏾
