I read "One Up on Wall Street" by Peter Lynch a number of years ago, and it really changed my life. I started to invest, learned more and more about this exciting world, and finally, I created this channel. If I had picked up a different book about investing, one that was too complicated or dry, my story might have been totally different.

Lynch's insight on small cap investing was the best part of the book to me.

I also read this book just out of college around 1989 . This book was a inspiration to me and shortly after reading it I began investing in stocks. Also in mutual funds at Fidelity investments. The Magellan fund, then the Contra fund , then converted all to the low price stock fund . Recently sold the Low price stock fund 30 years later. I sold recently because the founding manager left. Although slightly dated book now. Much to learn from my hero Peter Lynch. 😊

I found the quantitative side of valuing a business to be pretty simple and straight forward. The hardest part of it is just learning the language of accounting and knowing what to look for. Time consuming, but once you learn it, very straight forward. What is not straight forward is the qualitative side of valuing a business, that is how the business works outside of crunching the numbers. I read a ton of books before I came across this one. One up on wallstreet really is the most influential book I've read on investing, the way to think, and what you're looking for. I've read it once, listened to the audiobook once, and I'll probably read it again in the future. It is an underrated gem, I'm shocked that more people don't recommend it.
