Yep parley team I too I'm here every Sunday, living in a landlocked country, rarely getting the opportunity to travel 😀 and travelling vicariously through your channel. Thanks for sharing 👍
Having just returned from spending 5 weeks sailing through the Louisiades Archipelago, PNG, I highly recommend to any other yachtie to visit this beautiful location. No issues with theft or violence. Beautiful people living a simple life
Wow Colin, I think Jamie had the right idea with the Betelnut experiment. It doesn't look fun at all. 😁 The Hermit Islands are truly beautiful, I wish I was in Ryan's spot. Tell Brit and Jamie hello and have a great weekend mate.
I am with Jamie on the betel nut. 🤢 Thanks for letting me take a ride along with you to some very remote places I have never heard of. It's an amazing geography lesson. I go look up the places and read a bit about them. I was surprised that people speak English in this area. Brit...needs Katie back.😊 Hope you had a nice trip home.
I appreciate your commitment to put out amazing content every week.. I'm living life vicariously thru you and your adventures.. Be safe and God bless you all.
Knew Ryan was a fellow Canadian after his first sentence. Most people who are not North American cannot discern the very distinct Canadian vs American accents. Great great vid, guys!! Many thanks!
Hilarious watching Jamie spittin out that lovely concoction your host conjured up for you guys, Lol!! Saw som beautiful scenery in this one, Gorgeous places to visit and The pups really enjoyed their time on white sand!!! Thanks so much guys for another great video, Looking forwards to next Sunday,s adventure, Till then Stay safe !!!!!!
When I tried betelnut in Palau it was taken very differently. The nut was cut in half, sprinkled with the lye power then wrapped in a tobacco leaf. It didn't taste bad at all. It felt like having a 3 martini lunch for about 45 minutes then you were sober again. It was awesome.
Hi Ryan👋 “Trip advisor “ 😆 A helpful acronym.. C.O.B.R.A. Cunningham, Outhaul, Boom, Reefing lines, Adjustable backstay👍 good luck in your sailing adventures.
"Right Stuff" gasket maker is used successfully on engine parts that need to retain oil. It comes in tubes similar to toothpaste tubes. I use Brake Clean to remove all oil residue before applying Right Stuff. Engine degreaser leaves behind an oil of its own, so I only clean gasket surfaces with Brake Clean.
I don't know if anyone has said it, but Ryan at 50 years old looks like that?! Kudos to your ability to keep your muscular physique so well. I'm working on that build at 33 years old and am STRUGGLING. So I'm sure that took a lot of hard work and continuous conditioning to keep up.
You should have knots in that line if you want to use it to pull yourself back on the boat, it makes it so much easier or even better to have foot loops to rest in or climb in on a regular distance.
They have a local process for fuel transfer. Now you know. Good thing for boat engine filters. Safe passage. Averting a problem. Spare parts list growing.
Top stuff, I went to PNG back in the early 90s. Crazy place, had a good travel about there. Never fancied the beetle nut though. The nationals called in something like ‘boo eye’, I’m sure it’s not spelt like that. Stayed in Port Moresby, did some four wheel driving up to Goroka in the highlands, also out to Rabaul on New Britain Island. Very different to anywhere else I have been.
cool episode, dunno about the nuts guys but still enjoyed what you showed. always good to see some equipment resolution, makes you wonder how you could make access to equipment's that are in hard to access spots easier? maybe either the top half or bottom half of the cupboard hinges up or down, secured by bolts either side providing better access ...
Colin love your channel! This past weekend I kept checking for a new episode and I was getting frustrated. Then it hit me?? It was Saturday not Sunday Ha!
Jamie, I'm with you on being repulsed by the teeth, or lack thereof, of those who indulge in the betelnut. Mind over matter, matters.🤮 Thanks for sharing.
Hmmmm, (me thinking out loud) Parlay in Papa New Guinea, Delos on the hard in Australia and Va in New Zealand. Do I see something in the tea leaves???🤔👀🤔 As usual, thank you for sharing your adventures with us. Really do appreciate this!!!😎👍 THANK YOU!!!
Hey Colin Had the same issue with the gearbox, what happens is the O’ring at the top leaks then water finds its way in and it’s done… First thing we did is put a cap on the winch when not in use then ordered a gearbox fromBonfiglioli, from a distributor in the states, from Harken it’s 1000$, from the distributor around 300$….
The Yapese of Micronesia use betel leaf not the stick seen here. Should have been advised drinking and betelnut are not a good combo unless you are used to it, I've had many a spin out when having a chew after a heavy booze session. We use the whole fruit, put on the leaf, a bit of tobacco if so desired, put on the lime, wrap and go for it..
Thank you Colin another most enjoyable episode buddy, mate there is a fellow kiwi mariner Awanui NZ who has just brought a new Nordhavn N51 Motor Trawler who is On a seaward adventure from Turkey to Wellington, he has not the full knowledge and may need some advise or have a contact to the seamanship of the Seven Seas, hope you can keep your eye out for him on his channel “Awanui NZ” cheers buddy, safe sailing and God Bless 🙏😇⛵️👍
Hi Parlay Team , i’m with you Jamie, I tried it once before and it made me throw up even watching you guys. I was dry reaching LOL anyway keep up the good work always enjoy the videos Papua New Guinea Is a very interesting place. Keep up the good work Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia. I’m on the big island
I thought you would have a battery operated fuel transfer pump. It sounds like something one should have. Seen lots of people have issues with fuel, filters, and pumps while sailing.
Resourceful, not a new idea. I've used old bicycle or lawn tractor tube to make gaskets -seal. Don't have to be pretty. Is there manual option for winches in pinch, just cap hydro line till fix? I expect Ryan's going to up the workout routines. Love the show, the local perspective and challenges
I hope they dont stir up the drums. Cut to drums being kicked off the back of a truck! Not funny really.... but pretty damn funny, lol. Great episode guys.
Old women chewed Bettlenut. In 1967 when I was in Vietnam….they used it to numb the pain from lack of any dental care their whole lives….red mouthed forever
New season of below deck sucks without you dude. Great channel!🇨🇦✊🏻
This is SO much better than Below Deck IMHO 😊
@MissyMuzo agreed. Could use some more talent on board though 😁
@juicyj3819 nah.
Agree 100%, like watching a bunch of teenage school kids.

@RobbyO-p5p not many Canadians say "eh" anymore. I rarely hear people in Vancouver say it.

Yeahhh Boyyyyy… PARLAY!!! The greatest crewed vessel on the seas and reason Sundays are ALWAYS a great day. 🤙🏻😎🤙🏻
Another great episode guys, thanks as always for creating such wonderful positive content.
Ryan seems like a good dude! Should be fun to watch him learn how to sail!

That’s so great Ryan. Fellow Canadian 🇨🇦here and chasing the same dreams
Feels like family , watching parlay grow
Happy Dogs!
I have seen some boats have a circulation pump system to filter it or a transfer between tanks filter starboard port etc
You can always make a gasket out of a manila folder. Lots of videos how to do it. :)
One of the best channels and my weekly staple!!
Another great trip. Thanks for sharing see you on the next one.
Hi Ryan👋 “Trip advisor “ 😆 A helpful acronym.. C.O.B.R.A. Cunningham, Outhaul, Boom, Reefing lines, Adjustable backstay👍 good luck in your sailing adventures.
Thank you for sharing your adventures. Many people have no idea how difficult the process is. But no matter what, we appreciate it. ✌️❤️
Ryan is in amazing shape for being 50
Great video guys! Thank you
Best way to start a Sunday.

You are all looking soooo well!
Thank you all. Safe sailing 🤗🤗
We're always enjoying your Sunday editions .... could you do a little blurb to tell us how well your water-maker is working out?
Great video again! If you taught the dogs to sail, they could lighten the load! Lol😂
I love your channel!!!!! I used to watch a travel vlog at lunch and now this is my go to. You go to the most beautiful places!
When with the locals, do local things! Love the videos mate! 👍
Oh dog bite aw no. Did yo7 eat the lobsters? Another great week Thank you

Your filming and editing continue to evolve to the point where the episodes are now seamless. What cameras do you use?
Cool video. Nice music. Paradise.
Colin love your channel! This past weekend I kept checking for a new episode and I was getting frustrated. Then it hit me?? It was Saturday not Sunday Ha!

Someone once told me, Theres no shame in making a profit, But thats just crazy wrong!!! Lol.
you should try sail to Micronesia, beautiful islands and beaches. I'm sure you'll love it

🇳🇦 Been following you for years Colin absolutely love each and every episode , pls hit me up when you get back to Namibia 🇳🇦
I thought you would have a battery operated fuel transfer pump. It sounds like something one should have. Seen lots of people have issues with fuel, filters, and pumps while sailing.
My expirence with indigenous people is you get better results by not up staging things out of their control.
GOOD JOB

Haha. Good on you's for trying that betelnut .
What would a cruise be without boat work Colin. Like Santa without his elves or reindeer.
Thank You!!!!
I hope they dont stir up the drums. Cut to drums being kicked off the back of a truck! Not funny really.... but pretty damn funny, lol. Great episode guys.
If they are using them flat out for the resort shouldn't be any issue with buildup. Plus being filtered 3 times
i was about 10 when i tried beetle nut ,never tried it again lol ,we were there in the 60s ,wherever we went we always had 2 armed guards with us
3:52 that was a toucan😂
You are brave 💪🏻💪🏻
