I contact each person who send me their videos to talk with them and learn more about their story and to follow up what happened after what we see on their video. The infinity definitely did this purposely for the insurance money, you can clearly see at 7:38 that its left bumper is already out before the impact

7:25 obviously the infiniti is trying to get insurance money taking advantage of that florida law. Definitely not the first time i can see the bumper is already damaged before the hit. Without the cam he has a real high chance to get away with it. At this rate all cars may need their inexpensive version of the tesla cams and the addition of florida making changes to that law especially if you got the video evidence.
Won't make a difference as long as insurance companies and cops are both sloppy, look at two parked cars and apply a rule that only applies to one parked car and moving traffic.
Not everybody can afford to lawyer up and fight it all the way, so you create an opportunity gap within which bashcash-scams are basically legal, since getting justice is unaffordable.
The Infiniti's front looks worse than it should, my guess is he was looking for an insurance payout knowing Florida's strict road laws

Always wait for the person to pass (even if they are waiting for parking spot)? Should just require every car to have video recording for accident purpose and if you are already stopped, a car starts to back out if you accelerate to hit it then it's your fault. Without video it's more he said she said so easier to just to always fault the car backing out.
This will easy go against the Infinity driver in court. "Failure to avoid an accident" will trump the "back up law" whambam mentioned. The Tesla was straight-up stopped for a whole second before contact. The Infinity never even braked....which is proof of either insurance fraud, or plain stupidity.
The Infiniti’s bumper was already separated at the top right corner. And on the left side paint was missing around the grill. Also the Tesla had already stopped when the Infiniti kept rolling. That was an insurance scam and he should fight that. I’m very familiar with how that bumper should look and the sides were already popped out. The emblem was also gone.

Agreed! She was conducting the music! As for going around the UPS truck, when you are behind a box truck, you can't see the traffic lights. She must have thought there was something wrong with the truck, pulled out to go around and then was able to see the lights. She then hand-signaled and completed her left-hand turn.

lights. DOT has strict regulations on the design and operations of all vehicle lightning systems.
in majority of states, it is still the fault of the person that rear ends you - but I do see your point in this completely; having a 'slightly' better looking car at most isnt worth causing yourself unwanted rear ends/pain or even the poor soul that rear ends you for that matter.

While teaching my niece how to drive I would direct her to the top of a seldom used parking garage and then tell her to reverse all the way to the bottom - without mirrors (head out window, over shoulder), side view only, mirrors only, camera only, and all devices.
She can now navigate in reverse with no issues better than many drivers her age can drive FORWARD.

It defeats their primary purpose, safety! DOT has strict regulations and design parameters on all vehicle lighting systems for every type of vehicle.

Why would you tint the lights on your car? They’re supposed to make you able to see and visible to other drivers
Some people feel the need to do dumb things just to look different than the rest of us on the road. I remember when headlight and taillight covers became popular in the 90s (where I am, at least.) I thought they looked cool, but only while you're parked! To defeat a safety feature that we all rely on is just plain stupid.
External tinting of headlights is the epitome of abject stupidity just to 'look cool' - while reducing the throw of the lights by half or more, often MUCH more.
There are ways to tint the internal **reflector,** however, which does not reduce the forward throw of the lights and achieves similar effects.
@@grabasandwich Exactly so! And those cool accessories are just exactly how I learned how **horribly stupid** tinting headlights was. They lasted two days before getting sold on to a friend who actually did car shows and took them off otherwise.

100% it was already fucked up and that dude was looking to scam him. The whole lower middle part of that bumper is also missing and so is a chrome piece from the drivers side of the grill. I hope his insurance helps hims fight this and I hope the dude gets sent to jail for fraud
7:38 Juan is not at fault, the Infinity is already damaged and did not brake at all while he was pulling out. Considering the fact the infinity was stopped at the beginning is very suspicious to an insurance scam.

The infiniti is definitely an insurance scam. The front bumper is already loose, is missing a badge and has a lot of damage on the opposite side than the side that was impacted.
hope they can post the court results on this - i'm curious to see if the insurance company can check the claim history on the infiniti and see multiple claims in the past for this scenario which if so most likely are also part of the insurance scam.

same, I think when you get into accidents tow trucks will somehow know about it and come to you and try to scare by telling something will happen if you decide to drive it
all services and experiences cost money. its like HOA that takes thousands per year, or when you own a boat, a grand a year for some membership to park it or use boat services at the city. teslas are like boat, uploader probably already pays for some triple A service, and needed a mood boost by getting the royal treatment. they wouldn't use it really anyway and it's probably like 3 tows in a year package. sounds ridiculous but to them they are paying customers and expect to be treated like so

After completing the service unlocking his vehicle (a PITA job doing it by touch because I couldn't see into the car) I said told him to his face his car was a joke and he was an idiot wasting all that money just to be blind as fuck at night.

In Europe you are automatically found at fault for any sort of accident you might be involved in with tint installed on your lights. Even if it is a Honda-bump in broad daylight, as your car is illegally modified and therefore your insurance is cancelled.

I'd have given the roadwork guys a mouthfull. Should have had temporary road measures in to keep traffic to one side of the road or a diversion for that flow of traffic in place. I don't care about their road if they don't care about appropriate measures. But that old lady needs to retake her drivng test. In the San Francisco Bay area, Priuses are hands down the worst drivers around. Almost every near accident I'm in or every time I'm cut off or someone's driving dangerously slow in the fast lane, it's a prius.

I think the infiniti driver is well aware of how the florida law works and is using it to take advantage of the insurance fraud scam. I could tell this is not the first time - prob done it multiple times before just looking at all the damage on the bumper (it doesn't even look like an OEM bumper anyway - missing infiniti badge logo, looks like some cheap aftermarket) on the left and right side before the tesla impact. Biggest mistake is that he targeted a tesla that had the recording feature, he would've most likely gotten away with it if it was any other car that doesn't have that feature. Now when it goes to court they will see that and the insurance company can take a look at the driver's past claim histories and see if there are multiple claims with similar scenario and will get caught.

It's insane for the police to give Juan a ticket even after showing the video footage of the accident. The driver who crashed into Juan's Tesla seemed to be on "Purpose!
Of the accidents by drivers who keep driving or take off on foot after smashing the vehicle, 99% are car thieves driving a stolen vehicle, to begin with! Even when the police have these thieves in custody, they're not going to pay a dime for the damage they caused to the cars or injured people. These thieves get a slap on the wrist, back on the streets, stealing cars again. I blame the courts for not giving harsher punishments to these career criminals!

So.... You have one broken window on an otherwise perfectly good car. Why would you pay to have it towed for service when you could just drive it in? Even if they keep the car overnight, getting a ride home from a friend or taking a bus, cab, or Uber is probably still way cheaper than a tow truck.... I guess if you can afford a Tesla, you don't really care about unnecessary expenses.... That's just crazy to me though.

In my country if they catch you with tinted lights or windows, there's a huge fine and the police will literally rip it off in front of you.
I don't know what break lights are, but tinting your brake lights is illegal in most jurisdictions.
