I'm currently in California unfortunately until the middle of April and the sales tax on bullion here when you spend less than 2000 dollars is just one of it's ridiculous taxes and laws. One of the most tyrannical places on the planet and the residents are willing to accept it to the point where they also will snitch on people. I had a police officer stop me while I was walking on a street in downtown Glendale because a woman told the cop that she saw me jay walking. I told him I was from Texas and they taught us to look both ways before crossing the street when we were capable of walking and maybe even crawling and I didn't need the state to tell me how to cross a street. He was really angry when I told him I was from Texas, more that because I was a Jay Walker. California is beautiful, but too many residents here don't understand freedom.
That’s insane that cop interaction. I guess just save up till you hit the 2k mark. Buy cheap things or things cheap. and flip them to get there faster if you can.
lets just also mention that without taxes you would live in a country looking like one in Africa or some other s hole like the Bahamas ... so be thankful for some taxation which pays the roads and other public services
My 2c, my reason comes from my grandfather. Buy as low as you can. Buy what you want. Stack generic when cheap, and understand that nothing truly "hedges" inflation, you stack to store your wealth.
No it really doesn't. As another commenter mentioned is just an alternative way of saving your Fiat currency. It's not an investment, it's not a hedge against inflation. They are really speculative assets. Which could become liabilities if when you go to cash them in if you get less than what you paid for them. Don't mess with speculative assets until you've got every other base covered and a nice stash of emergency money.
Being from Commiefornia, I can verify that everything Stacking Surfer says is right on. The difference in us is that I live in the Mother Lode Gold Country and we just dig ours out of the ground instead of buying it.
Happy birthday, Tim! 🥳 CA resident here, so , yes, online metals purchases must be $2k+ to avoid state tax. Oh, and most definitely, the wheel IS RIGGED! 🤣
What I don't understand about shoplifting in California is that the criminals never take the merchandise to the register to see if it's under or over $1000 before they steal it.
Happy Birthday, Tim! And thanks, Yankee. We're still stacking here. I'm taking my grandkids to my LCS next week during spring break to pick out a new round each.
Happy birthday Tim , many thanks for all you do. I appreciate everything you do as well Yankee. I took a bath with selling my silver over the past year . But thank you for all your valuable information and input by putting the word out on what is truly going on this misguided world . God bless you and protect you all always.
@shadowvendor1157 Man, Riff Raf, really. Glad YOUR discipline, is better than theirs. How dare they buy what they can afford to try and benefit like you.
I do understand some customers suck for both the dealer and the other customers. I would consider it being as much if not more the dealers responsibility since they have the ability regulate what and when they buy. Maybe coordinate an appt. time for yourself with them. Good luck.
I am from Chesterfield, struggling to learn Trading. This video is great one in imparting knowledge and I thank you for your sincere and earnest attempt to share what you have over a period of Thank you very much. I am going to watch this again and again till the info will settle in my mind❤
Happy birthday tim! As a California resident, I hate it for a lot of reasons and I've had to not buy it for a while. I wish I could move but I'm stuck with work.
Do come to California! Let us know ahead of time, and I'll stop by! (Orange County here) You'll have to hurry, though; I hope to move out in a few years. Happy Birthday, Tim! Many more in good health!
Another fantastic video. It's always a pleasure to watch your videos with you and Tim and now Stacking Surfer. Also loved the older gentleman who came in and purchased all the dimes. God bless all of you and hope your week is blessed.
The more I learn about Tim, the more I am amazed at his talent and life experiences. Please let me know if Tim will visit Cali. I would be honored to meet him.
I had that exact safe in my jewelry store years back (1991-2015), the orional had a very cool "Indian Scene " painted on the front, I may still have that photo...
Good on you, Yankee. Encouraging people to preserve their purchasing power with knowledge of what money is, and isn’t, is a noble cause. Anything that helps people understand the truth is a worthwhile pursuit. Salute from Australia mate.
Awesome to see my buddy Stacking Surfer on this video. He told me he was making a trip to Tim's. Thanks Yankee for all you do with educating the community on the importance in stacking precious metals. Keep it up dude......YEA!!!
Happy BIrthday Tim. You are beloved by Yankee's viewers. We love Yankee too. Please come to California. We will treat you well, and keep the scruggs away. I live a few miles away from Sutter Mill where Gold was discovered in California.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIM! Remember, when you visit CA PLEASE let us know if you'll be in the Sacramento area.....many of Yankee's viewers are in the Sacramento area. Hope you got my B-day card & small silver order!!!
This was great fun. Loved the New Englander starting the video out and then onto the other end with a California Surfer. I'm next door in Vermont and pray we keep our lifestyle
There's no tax in Utah and a lot closer than New Hampshire. The smile that came on Tim's face reminded me of Jim Carey in Dumb and Dumber. "Ah California"
Good to see surfer visiting Tim again. Let’s get some more magnets on that safe y’all! Oh, and Yankee congrats on reaching 150k subs. It’s wonderful the influence you have had on so many people!
Happy Birthday to Tim. I live in New Mexico and even if you have bullion shipped from out of state they tax it. So, I don't buy any in New Mexico. Colorado is close by, so I've gotten a few coins in Pueblo. And, I've some in stored in Utah. Be very careful if you go to San Francisco

Jay walking in legal in Cali as of last January
That’s insane that cop interaction. I guess just save up till you hit the 2k mark. Buy cheap things or things cheap. and flip them to get there faster if you can.
Nevermid I just checked, Jay walking is illegal again as of this January.
Maybe that wasn't anger? But it could have been envy! lol
I would have told him …. If you have nothing to do maybe protect your border
Call it what it is, taxation is theft.
It sure is!
And to tax money is to add insult to injury.
… and inflation are taxes imposed by a private corporation
Get off the highways and never take govt checks ever and I’ll start to take u seriously
lets just also mention that without taxes you would live in a country looking like one in Africa or some other s hole like the Bahamas ... so be thankful for some taxation which pays the roads and other public services
Gold spot presently at $2149.50. Speaks volumes.
The elites know its about to HIT THE FAN, Prepare accordingly!
In preparation for the Fed to pause rate hikes. High Interest rates prop up the dollar. The dollar will be falling as a result
Gold is $2363.07 now.

Watching the action in Tim's coin shop makes me feel like I'm visiting old friends... Semper Fi!
I finally made my wife understand why gold & silver work against inflation of paper currency.
Keep up the good work Yankee.
My 100 ounce stack did not hedge against inflation which was the worst in my lifetime
@@johnengland8619physical gold and silver are not meant as a hedge against inflation

How well does that pan out. Pun intended but as a serious question. 🎉 people still find considerable nugs or just gold dust?
When you find the mother lode, let me know and I’ll come out and help you mine it!! 😃
I know spots to pick it up on the American. Still have a 4g nug I picked up in the early 90s. Lotus/Coloma
I find a little gold in Az.. a friend just found an 11 gram in Q, Az, and another found a 9 gram by Yuma. I have yet to find a big nuggy

Happy birthday, Tim! 🥳 CA resident here, so , yes, online metals purchases must be $2k+ to avoid state tax. Oh, and most definitely, the wheel IS RIGGED! 🤣
No tax if you buy from Canada. Also buy in no tax states and have them ship - they often won't collect tax for Cali.
I recently bought 20 1/10th platinum kooks. Being in CA I was sure to spend over $2k to avoid tyranny sales taxes.
I thought you avoid tax for gold/silver only. good to know the 2k rule applies for platinum as well.
I live in kommiefornia and just bought over 2k of silver online. Didnt even know there was a tax.
What I don't understand about shoplifting in California is that the criminals never take the merchandise to the register to see if it's under or over $1000 before they steal it.

They are really good at math in they heads. LOL
Always love these discussions. I haven't lived in the US since 2012, and it's refreshing to see conservatives in conversation. I'm Southerner.

California raised the bullion tax threshold from $1500 to $2000?! That is messed up!
Maybe they need a tax on illegal immigration?
They already tax residents to pay their housing, auto/health insurance and food.
California is messed up. But that's what they voted for. Bonappetit California and your 2 neighbors to the north ..

The reason for California's scheme is REGISTRATION. They know how much you have in your stack, and one day will come for it!
First thing the commies did when they took over in Russia was confiscate peoples gold and silver. I read about it in the Gulag archipelago.
