While everyone is still settling down for a good meal in the evening, the chief technician is alerted by their systems of two Category-IV Kaijus gushing out of the breach. Which is threatening to search Newton Geizler, destroying lives in the process. This time it would be unusual as Kaijus are only scheduled to come out one at a time. With the bars raising, the entire Shatterdome is alerted and ordered to prepare the three Jaegers to be sent out prevent the Kaijus from consuming countless lives of the people in Hong Kong. Gypsy is of course, grounded and being maintained while all this is going on. The technician room is crowded with workers, engineers, mechanics and so on. Including the pilots for this mission. They are to have a huge brief about the affair happening currently. The Australians are ordered to remain near the coastline to prevent the Kaijus from entering the city unless it becomes a last option where they'll have to resort on using force to bring them down. Crimson Typhoon is seen being airlifted out of his lot in the Jaeger's hangar through a giant circular door. Workers are seen standing on a platform to give a shear size of how great the magnitude is towards the literal scale of these Jaegers.
The Australians however are to walk their way out with Striker Eureka to the harbor while Crimson and Cherno are airlifted as they needed to stay ahead of Striker. Sasha, one of the russian pilots, releases the cables attached to the Jaeger and lands on the ocean. Along with Crimson behind. And Striker still walking far behind near the coastline. Then, back at the black market, Newton is convening with Hannibal on the balcony witnessing a Kaiju's skull mounted on a building's entrance. Newton reminds Hannibal about how much he needs the brain of a Kaiju and making sure that it provides good condition. Hannibal however, seizes to acknowledge Newton's importance towards needing this Kaiju's brain as he informs Newton that the Kaiju has many organs to use for Newton's work. Newton then revealed a classified information that he managed to meld his mind with a living Kaiju brain. He then evaluates on how fascinating the Kaiju's hive mind is.
Hannibal begins to get a clear glimpse of a bloodshot eye. He then catches Newton's left eye and it became clear to him that Newton had indeed communicate neurally with a Kaiju. He then leaves the balcony and exiting with a remark on what a stupid move Newton has done. To be continued...
Aw heck yeah!! Finally, even though I love the characters in Pacific Rim, I've been waiting to upload the intense battle scenes in Hong Kong, and now just to wait for the last battle at the end of the movie. Love that one too! This entire Hong Kong scene is indeed needed to be a series cause it's just way too long now. So it has to be seperated into six parts. I'm thinking part two will be the longest. Since the clip is five minutes long. My goodness! But eh, it's worth it. After all, the longer the clip, the more awesomeness you will feel to the fullest extend that these battles have to offer.

I'm sure you can imagine my, then, growing sense of anticipation for the film's release.
For at that point I just knew that were peaking at a scene where the movie's "Jaegers" were being mobilized for battle.😍

The light moving up, the belly flaps thing opening and closing, the turbines turning on, and the arms coming out
also, the pilots are wearing a google instead of a helmet with full face windshield that has a built in heads up display because it's uses an older technology
Also, the way all the small lights are placed in front of cherno bucket head, it resembles like a face 🤖

2:24 is my favorite. I love seeing Striker physically look up as Cherno and Crimson fly past.
Makes sense that Cherno Alpha and Crimson Typhoon were defeated.
I mean Striker Eureka was too precious to send into combat right away. And as far as Newton knew Gipsy Danger was still out of combat because Pentacost wouldn't send Mako into combat easily so he'd likely find an excuse. And Newton shared all of his knowledge about Cherno and Typhoon fighting style with kaiju masters via the drift.
It's unparalelled however that Pentacost knowing about the drift working both ways wouldn't change his plans drastically in the last second. He could hypothesise after all that kaiju masters could've learned something from Newton so he should mix things up as a precaution. And even before that - always sending the same jeagers on the front line was far too obvious.
He should send Striker Eureka and Gipsy Danger on the front line - both jeagers fairly new in the Shatterdome so the enemy wouldn't be prepared. Both Cherno and Typhoon should wait on the coastal line in case they were needed but only engage if both Striker Eureka and Gypsy Danger were in danger.
Stacker Pentacost made a fatal miscalculation. he assumed that only Striker Eureka could blow up the breach. He forgot that Gipsy Danger carries the bomb with her - because unlike other jeagers it's nuclear powered. There was never any need to protect Striker Eureka at all cost.
But I assume Pentacost got too arrogant and he never really stopped to think about what Newton told him. He still treated kaiju as mere animals who have no ability to plan an attack despite Newton clearly telling him that this is not the case.

Something that is overlooked is that not only did Newton's drift share Cherno and Crimson's design weaknesses (the Kaiju were steadily adapting to those anyway), it also gave away their biggest weakness...that they had pilots. Up to that point the Kaiju masters assumed the Jaegers were beings similar to the Kaiju with brains, their learning through Newton that the Jaegers had a pair of squishy pilots inside saw them change their tactics, hence the acid and their attacks focusing on where they figured out the pilots were knowing now that if they took the pilots out the Jaeger was dead.
Maybe because they don't really speak the same language
Yeh but blowing up gypsey was a last resort. They never would have wanted to risk losing a yaeger and possibly the pilots if the escape pods failed which it nearly did on gypsey
The idea of using Kaiju corpses as resources is interesting and should’ve been expanded upon
I honestly would have liked a whole book series on the scavengers, how they operate, their relationship with the Jaegers, and what they do with it.

Gotta love movies that put in smart characters. Hannibal isn't one of those guys who asks dumb questions and lets the smart guy explain. He understands Kaiju biology and Jeager drifting well enough, to put the whole picture together before the scientist does.
Yes because he was a capitalist with interest in their biology. The researcher and capitalist team dynamic was super interesting, sort of like how a company operates

Nexus Club no Russia, Soviet Union still even in this time line has ceased to exist. Still Cherno Alpha is kick ass no doubt. One thing I do like is for once it's a world effort not just a us or Russian or any one nation. Even though Cherno gets destroyed other than Gipsy Danger it was really the only mech to seriously take on two simultaneously posed threats. And Unlike Gipsy did both at once not separate from one to another. Even striker eureka didn't go two on one. I don't think any mech would survive getting dog piled.

There is just something about 3:14. Cherno's pilots there, with all those holograms in front of them, the way they are walking big and slow, and the suits. This clip that last 2 seconds deafeats the purpose of the entire 2nd movie.

Because Newt drifted with the Kaiju, while it gives valuable information to the PPDC, the Precursors were able to make Kaiju that were perfect counters for Cherno, Crimson, and Striker.
I would've rather had a sequel and see more action of the older Jaeguers

+Epicnerd73 There are about 8 of the stronger, largest helicopters, like Chinook's, which sometimes carry tanks. carrying a Jaeger. There are 2 carrying on part of the Jaegers transport thing.

You know, I recently took a class called statics in college. Summarizing it, Essentially is the calculation of forces on non-moving objects. I could be wrong, but I think the helicopters that were lifting each of the Yeagers use a pulley system, which allows for the weight on each helicopter to not be as massive. It is a nice detail that the producers had that I do like because it does have some science behind it.
