Here we show the upgrade done to our Jaunti Camper Van while Cindy was out in Sandton Doggy Sitting. Cindy spent about 2 weeks there and the hounds loved her. When we left, the owners returned and said they came home to be greeted by happy hounds. All went well dog sitting.
Meanwhile... at home, Graham was up to his engineering stuff again... After rummaging through all his junk steel pile he found material to cut and weld to make a clever step for Jaunti's sliding door. It's actually amazing what can be done with scrap!
Some square tube frames were welded together and links made to fit between them, then a dedicated locking tag was attached to links to lock the contraption either extended out or locked under Jaunti to travel.
It went well with clean grinding and then red oxide primed before the final black paint coating. Then came the fitting to the van undercarriage, where nothing was flat and square. A few lengths of different square tubing did the trick and eventually, the step system was attached ... for good..
The step out as we call it, works extremely well, both locked away under the van or extended to step in and out of the sliding door. It has yellow reflective tape attached to be noticed by other drivers pedestrians etc. to not hurt themselves.

Great stuff there Alfred, yes get your solar sorted.. We have a setup on our van, an old-school one though, which cost a packet in 2013, that was our 12volt system in the house for lights, since upgraded the house to a 5K 220volt system... Nowadays it's Lithium batteries and smart inverters etc... eish.. I know a bit about solar, and can always try to give you some tips.😏
