By the way, doesn't Kusanali's power to move her consciousness to faraway lands pretty much confirms that theory that it was her who was "bullying" Shouta into studying?
To those who don't remember, Shouta is that kid in Inazuma who keeps giving offerings to the Electro Archon asking for stuff. in the daily commission "O Archon, Have I Done Right?" there is a dialogue at the end between us, Shouta, and the lady by the alchemy table. Shouta talks about this girl who keeps pursuing him, telling him to study. And inquired about her, he doesn't remember anything about her, who she is, or even her name, even though he describes her as someone who's always there with him, like a friend from school. And then by the end, he runs in fear, saying she's right there to force him to study again. But we can't see anything, but a single... green leaf on the floor.
I don't remember who, but a while ago I remember watching a video by someone who theorized that while trying to make offerings to Ei, Shouta might have gotten the Dendro Archon's attention instead. And since he was asking the Archon to do well in his exams, the Archon was trying to get him to study, since that's the God of Wisdom after all.
And now we have confirmation that Kusanali can *actually* do that.

    • @angeldude101
      @angeldude101 2 года назад +180

I think he specifically asked for the exam to be skipped, but as an archon who could likely hear his call and as the God of Wisdom, she likely wouldn't take too well to the idea of someone trying to avoid learning and could instead take it upon herself to help him study so that he wouldn't need to miss out on what was being taught, and hopefully, maybe even leave him with a desire to learn more.
Kusanali is around the right physical age to appear as a classmate, and it was mentioned afterwords that the god had an unusually direct way of responding. Her more childlike outlook on things could very easily result in that latter point.

Speaking of "brain buzzing," a half-baked dendro theory: nervous systems are full of things called "dendrites." This name is not a coincidence--it's because they resemble tree branches or roots. It's perhaps also not a coincidence that Sumeru and its archons have a lot of interest in minds and memories; knowledge, dreams, illusions (also seen in Tighnari's skill), and a whole system linking everyone's brains together. This would also explain why dendro reacts with electro (and can cause aggravation)--neurons carry electrical signals.
You could even stretch this further with dendritic cells, which are unrelated to dendrites, and part of the immune system. The "withering" of the Sumeru rainforest acts a lot like a disease, which our first two dendro characters are helping to fight off. So that's also a potential non-coincidence.

I'm wondering if there's something about Kusanali aging being a main concern of the story, seeing how while adults lose the ability to have dreams, children can still freely do so. If Kusanali becomes no longer a child, maybe her powers related to dreams will vanish as well. Which may be the reason why she got locked up, so that the Akademiya can wait out her childhood and get her to become the rational and logical thinker that Rukkhadevata once was.
Something that's fun to think about is that the whole dreaming schtick where children can dream however adults cannot is similar to something we have already seen in Venti's story quest about the imaginary friends. Whether or not they're related iunno.

    • @dallenjohnston129
      @dallenjohnston129 2 года назад +58

That would actually totally explain the line “We don’t have many more festivals to waste.” Because the festivals are her birthday, and she’s going to grow up! I think you’re onto something there, though I don’t know exactly what she would lose. Maybe she would no longer be able to astral project herself, since astral projection is often connected to the idea of dreaming, or maybe she would even lose her ability to maintain the Mirage of Sumeru, because Mirages are made from dreams, and that’s why the city disappears, because she’s losing the ability to dream.

And I still think that Rukkhadevata IS Kusanali (maybe a reencarnation) it makes no sense that she was born as soon as the greater lord died. I completely agree with the idea that the Sages were trying to reincarnate Rukkhadevata, but I honestly was thinking of a less reliable direction for the method. My assumption was that when Rukkhadevata's body was found, a burial was performed and the Sage's unknowingly let the divine body act as fertilizer, gathering the surrounding plantlife into a humanoid body. They believed it was a direct reincarnation at first, but over time, realised Kusanali was her own distinct entity, which is when they started to resent her and desire to try again (side note: the number of festivals might be a vague countdown for how much longer it will take for Kusanali to gather enough divine energy that they can sacrifice her to reroll on the gacha).
In relation to that, I'd think that back when it was assumed that someone assassinated Morax's Exuvia, the Rite of Parting that we were supposed to do involved us sacrificing the remaining Geo Archon energy in the Exuvia back into the ground to recreate a new Geo Archon, which is why the body was so well protected in the Golden House. Of course, once the entire scheme collapsed and the QiXing were informed that the Exuvia was just a pointless empty shell, the ritual sacrifice part was abandoned, and it became just a normal funeral for their Archon.
Love the other theories tho. Thanks

Love the "reroll on the gacha". Not sure about the sacrificing the remaining Geo Archon to create a new one hypothesis. Thinking about the differences between Kusanali's wisdom and the Akademiya's/Rukkhadevata's, I considered Dottore's line: "Conventional wisdom holds that divine knowledge cannot be rationally comprehended." The Akademiya is so fixated on their rationality and conventional wisdom. Beyond simply innovation and discovery, Kusanali's less conventional wisdom is more likely to take irrational leaps in logic needed in order to better understand the divine.
STEM is a term used to describe various hard academics: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. These are all see as very rational and logical fields, but some argue that it's missing a piece: _Art._ "STEAM" adds in the less rational and logical art into the mix to emphasise that the other four require no less creativity in order to actually makes strides with. I feel it's necessary to point out that, regarding dreams specifically, we actually have a known scientific discovery that was made within a dream before being shown to work in the physical world, this being the story of the Periodic Table of the Elements.
"I saw in a dream a table where all elements fell into place as required. Awakening, I immediately wrote it down on a piece of paper, only in one place did a correction later seem necessary." - Dmitri Mendeleev, as quoted by Inostrantzev

I feel like there's going to be some problems with the Akasha System and the ley lines. We've seen in various events thus far that the ley lines are really good at storing information from history. For that reason, it seems like all the Akasha System needs to do is allow each individual access to that information. So far, so good. You're not even creating a new system. You're just finding a way to allow access to an existing "service" provided by the land and its magic tree roots.
BUT, there has to be a cost. If it were such a simple matter to be able to just log into the tree roots and know everything that's ever happened, it wouldn't be the only time someone would be trying it. And if Raiden's second story and the unusual disturbance in Diluc's recent event show, it's that these past events pose an actual danger to those exposed to them. In the case of both, stored histories of monsters are just as dangerous to anyone passing by as the real thing. This shows that there's inherently risk involved with access to a perfect history. Is the fact that those on the system can't dream the proof of some safeguard in place? Maybe yes. Maybe no.
On the other hand, the danger may be more related to the people running the show. As basically everyone who knows anything about Sumeru has made clear in the past, knowledge there isn't just something people try to accumulate because they love to learn. Knowledge is a literal currency. It has inherent value, to the point that only certain people can know certain things. High-level information is guarded almost religiously. Why would a culture that views information this way be so generous with just handing it out to everyone who logs in to their system? In fact, since the Traveler is able to use it, it doesn't seem like it's very hard to just walk in from outside the country and pick up an earpiece or what-have-you.
Obviously, the clear answer here is that the Akasha system doesn't allow unfettered access to all information. Very likely, there's a baseline of information for everyone. But greater knowledge has a greater cost, and is only accessible to certain individuals. Or perhaps they use "something" to "pay" for access to said knowledge. And this suggests the second potential form of danger. If the Academia is able to partition knowledge - blocking or diverting the information flowing through ley lines - doesn't this seem...super dangerous? It feels like they're playing with fire and a system very likely to explode if things go bad. Since the Akasha system is almost certainly merely a means of access rather than the actual "memory storage," it suggests some level of direct modification to the ley lines themselves.
Or, looking at it another way, what if the Divine Knowledge seed or whatever is something like an access key? It's not that it contains information itself. Rather, one who used it would be allowed to access aspects of the Akasha system - and by extension - the ley lines to learn secrets clear only to the gods. Within is something all gods have inherently, but the seed would allow non-gods to access it as well. Think of it as something related to the Delusions that are created from the hatred of dead gods. Does Divine Knowledge require some other aspect of gods that has perhaps been harvested and condensed into a usable form. Combining this with Il Dottore's seeming throw-away line about Divine Knowledge being impossible to comprehend by mortals, does this suggest a potential workaround in the form of this seed?
If it allowed some special access reserved for the gods, couldn't this include something like manipulating reality itself. It wasn't all that hard to do so on the Golden Apple Archipelago. The Fatui were able to do it with a machine. The previous iteration of the event suggests that Alice used the ley lines there to modify reality itself, as well. (Her previous modifications of the islands as a playground for her daughter were kind of hand-waved by the fact that she is likely insanely powerful, but ley line reality modification seems like a good candidate for how she did it now that we have additional information.) If someone was granted god-level administrator access to Sumeru and its ley lines, what would stop them from literally rewriting reality itself? And if everyone there was attached to the Akasha system, what would the difference between between such an illusion and reality? Would they be stuck in it forever? To what degree might they ALREADY be in some form of perfectly real illusion?
To say nothing of the very real danger of Celestia having secrets it has shown a willingness to "intervene" upon throughout history. If someone were able to learn secrets only the gods were allowed to know and there became a risk of those secrets getting out, what would happen? Would we see yet another disaster? The Heavenly Principles? Perhaps another Nail would descend to wipe out yet another civilization? Or, perhaps most interesting of all, what if Celestia is actively working with the Academia in limiting the accumulation of knowledge on topics it views as problematic, as kind of a deal with the Devil to keep their civilization from being destroyed?
Lots of very fun possibilities (for people playing the game) and lots of very scary ones (for the fictional characters dealing with it).

    Some notes:
    - Dottore says that ‘common knowledge’ is that divine knowledge cannot be rationally comprehended. Which means that it can be comprehended but people believe otherwise.
    - I think that this may be a very important point in the future story of the game since if the common hypothesis is overturned, and that divine knowledge is not as esoteric as it is made out to be then it is possible for humans to ascend and become gods themselves.
    - There is a section in the trailer where it says there there is a device that is extracting energy from the Ley Lines. Maybe that’s where the Divine Knowledge capsule came from. And maybe it is more common than it seems.
    - In your special program stream you noticed and mentioned that when the Ruin Sentinel or the person with the Divine Knowledge capsule is looking at the traveler and Al Haitham there is something like binary code running through them. That discovery baffled me and I formed an insane theory.
    - What if ascending meant that you become a existence separate from Teyvat? What if you become part of or gain access to the Ley Lines which is in fact some sort of Cloud storage (which btw you too mentioned). And what if vision holders who have ascended are only being projected into Teyvat after ascending through a ‘vision’ so that they are kept in the dark about the truth of the world.
    - Zhongli mentioned once that vision is not something that gives you elemental power but has another use, and many interpreted it as something that Celestial uses to keep an eye on you. What if it’s the other way round? What if it is used to keep you in the dark and have you gain ‘vision’ into Teyvat so that you don’t know how to utilize the power you have gained. There is always something suspicious about what Dain says at the end of every character miscellany, like the world is about to be overturned, and vision holders will have to make hard choices about how they want to live going forward.
    - Nahida says something in the Promotional Trailer: “maybe all they [truth] point to is a small and simple secret”. How do you write a grand narrative with complex faction, themes and characters, and great world building? Often at the end of these big narratives, I find that stories inherently tend to climax at simple and small conflicts. A simple reason for why everything is the way it is, is what props up grand narratives with multilayered themes. I think that Teyvat is actually a simulation. This is my hypothesis.
    - At the end of the version trailer we hear the Abyss Lector say, “Are you so ignorant, or are you just living in complete denial?” What does it mean for Teyvat to be a simulation? What does it mean for people’s fate to be defined by their constellations? Who can deserve to control such power over other peoples fates? What is then the meaning of the life of non-vision holders? Are they not real? Are they not a human or an individual? Such a truth, why wouldn’t the traveler not feign ignorance towards? Something that removes meaning from life itself.
Sorry for the long comment. Although I present my case here, I think that there is a lot we don’t know about the structure of Teyvat itself, how it operates and what laws govern it. There is a lot we don’t know, like what were the civilizations that came before the seven, and why are they so technologically proficient? What is the Abyss? Where is Celestia? What are the three moon sisters? What happened to the Seele race? What are the three realms and are they part of Teyvat too? Are there other continents or planets outside of Teyvat? It is obvious that the Celestials that know the truth tend to want to gain control over Teyvat and we still don’t know why. What do they want? This may become the crux of the conflict in the future.
PS: My analysis for Genshin story telling is derived from how narratives usually play out and how fantastical stories are written. I like to focus on grander narrative rather than smaller pieces of lore, because by knowing the full picture can the jigsaw puzzle be solved. Thanks for reading my take!

And baizhu's duty to protect the weakened Rukkhadevata aka Changsheng or maybe they are in liyue to study Qiqi and the adepti power to fully revive Rukkhadevata. And zhongli is protecting them by playing dumb and pretend not to know them. Because there is NO WAY he doesn't know baizhu.

Funny as I just watched a Chill with Aster video on the same topic. She though the story about the tree being replanted in Before Sun and Moon is explaining the plot a Sumeru. It claims that a great tree gets cut down, and the people are told to replant it and it will grow into a new tree. It does but only after 500 years will it fully develop. This parallels Sumeru pretty well. We know that the current God was basically born from the ashes of the last, their date of birth is the old god's date of parting, and it's been somewhere around 500 years since. She even comments about there not being much time left for this kind of celebration likely as she's supposed to develop soon.

To add onto what I said, during this year’s Golden Apple Archipelago event the fatui made that mechanism where it used a God’s powers to create mirages for others. I want to know how the fatui came about this power and were able to create this whole machine. My first thought was that they’re somehow able to perform tests on Kusanali in order to understand her powers or to somehow extract some of it and that could possibly be why Sumeru was disappearing in the trailer. I don’t think Hoyoverse would tie this to the event though since it’s limited but it’s an interesting concept to think about.

Also I thought it was interesting that Kusinali not only was associated with the mirages in the GAA but she was interested in knowing what the traveler learned from experiencing them. So maybe she’s also associated with self reflection and knowledge of the self, since dreams can be used to gain insight into one’s self depending on how we interpret them.

I kind of just assumed that when an Archon died Celestia would supply a replacement. If all the other six Archons were the same from the original Seven that emerged victorious in the Archon war I would probably think the case of Kusanali being created by the sages highly likely. But since there are three more cases of there being a replacement Archon with no evidence that they were created by the people it just makes sense to me that Celestia would be the one supplying Teyvat with replacement Archons.
In the case of Zhongli and Ei:
-Zhongli didn’t actually die so he wouldn’t have been dead in the eyes of Celestia. Therefore, not prompting a replacement.
-Ei was technically already a god of Inazuma, just not an Archon in name. It’d make complete sense for the Gnosis and title of Archon to go to her rather than sending in a replacement. Also if Celestia didn’t approve of Ei’s ascension to the Archon position it would explain Ei cutting ties with Celestia to begin with
That’s just my thoughts on it anyways. I apologize if any of this was hard to read at points since admittedly I was just trying to get my point across with minimal refinement. Thanks for reading

I don’t think Celestia even knows Ei is alive, because before Makoto ascended to her position as archon, Ei gave up her body (aka passed away) and once Makoto became archon, she “built” a new body for Ei and made her the kagemusha, her shadow warrior, Ei even says that she would pretend to be Makoto during battles and social events, so I’m led to believe that Celestia thinks that Ei is Makoto

I’m still interested to see how celestia promoting specific archons for the visions could’ve effected ‘the’ (whoever made kusanali) decisions to create kusanali. We know other archons aren’t the same as the ones during the original vision civilisations in some shape or form and so the fact that there’s a convenient replacement for kusanali can infer divine intervention? Are the sages connected to a scribe of celestia or something that encouraged them to (if they did) create kusanali? I know lore wise it probably is better to think that kusanali was made by those we see in the plot but in especially interested to see how the other archons came into being and if celestia was involved.
I know this was mentioned breifly with the seed of the sky tree being kusanali usb drive but gosh darn it I can’t stop wondering what the hell is up with the convenient archon for each elemental system.
Is there a reason that every other god needed to cooperate with the elemental archons (like wolf boi) in order to survive the wars? Was the god of salt killed by something other than her own people. Was doctore involved in cutting a clone of kusanali because of his cloning abilities?

  • @dallenjohnston129

You know, a possible way the Akadamya found Kusanali was the fact that wherever she stepped, a bunch of flowers grew. I mean, that kind of a dead giveaway that probably drew somebody notice. As to why she controls the Dendro element, Xhongli did say that a new Geo Archon would rise to replace him eventually, so it seems like the world demands a god for every element to exist, which may have been why she was born with Dendro. As for why her ideal is Wisdom, that might also be the Sages projecting their previous God’s ideal onto her whether she liked it or not.
I still agree that she is almost definitely some form of clone of Rukkadevata, but just a solid counter argument for why she so suspiciously aligned with the Past Archon if she wasn’t.

I think its possible that kusanali mirrors Theresa Apocalypse, a failed clone of kalen kaslana who's stopped aging at around 12 or 14. I think a similar thing happened with the possibility of kusanali being a clone of the first dendro archon. it adds a certain amount of believability to the theory that wasn't talked about that I just think is pretty cool.

I have a theory that Rukkhadevata and Kusanali are one and the same. Paimon's questions when inspecting the statue 'who do you think it is?' and then 'yeah, it does seem kind of old' (when answering Rukkhadevata), made me wonder. As the other option mentioned the size of the Archon, and I have to say on closer inspection it is rather small. And people have mentioned time and again that it is really coincidental that Sumeru 'happened upon an Archon at the death of their prior Archon'. What if instead - Rukkadevata never died during the fight at Khaenri'ah, but was just wounded, allowing the scholars to whisk her away. Then - fitting with the idea that Kusanali is locked in the tower - they are siphoning the powers for their mirage or Akasha system? It ties together all the theories mentioned in a neat little bun (apart from the Divine knowledge capsule). Just a theory - but thought it was worth adding!

      (MINOR SPOILERS)
In the archon quest, it is confirmed that the lines “The world… forget me” is actually a voiceline from Greater Lord Rukkhadevata. This would mean that Nahida and the Greater Lord have the same voice actress. Which is super suspicious. Perhaps Kusanali is really a weakened form of Rukkhadevata whose memories have been wiped after the cataclysm at Khaenri’ah

@@mavisseafoam Interesting... I haven't quite reached that part of the archon quest yet. Does this potentially mean the Scarlet King could also be the same god of Wisdom, just reincarnate? I have just played through the part where you meet the fanatics of his people, where they mention Rukkhadevata supposedly took his title from him as the previous lord of wisdom. If we assume that this is the same thing I've said about Kusanli taking Rukkhadevata title, maybe she didn't 'kill' the scarlet king as his fanatics say - she's the same god! Potentially a reincarnated version or weaker version each time, at least initially.

My immediate assumption when I heard that they brought Kusanali back was that they brought her back from Khaenri'ah, where Rukkhadevata died. I think i commented about how suspicious Kusanali's birth in one of your video before, thank you for covering about it.
Anyway, I agree with the idea that Kusanali is sorta caged. I feel like Kusanali is used as temporary measure to use the power of dendro gnosis, since tha land and people are very dependant on it. Maybe the sages finally find a way to resurrect Rukkhadevata, and plan to either abandon her after used up all her power or she will be another ingredient to revive her. I dont think they will succeed, since the abyss lector voice said something about them (?) being in denial.
I wonder what is the Eremite fighting for. I dont think they're Rukkhadevata worshipper. Maybe they're worshipping another god that Rukkhadevata defeated, and plan to take revenge. Or maybe they also want to resurrect their god.
Speaking about another god, still curious why in every nation so far, there can never be more than one living god, even if that god already surrendered to the victor. It seems in the Archon War, the gods really are to eliminate each other until only one remain, not just subdue each other, and even the one hiding like Orobaxi is punished for not participating. In Mondstadt, Andrius just remain as spirit/memory without physical body. I remember reading a text where Ei firstly also gave up her existence (? Idk maybe just physically too?) but revived by her sister. Might be wrong tho. Maybe that's why she can only be a shadow, because Celestia cant have two gods govern one nation. But again, there still possibility the future nation will have two gods lived and exist together, even without being an archon.

Thinking about it, it feels like a clash of Quantitative Studies vs Qualititive Studies (The whole "Sages and Kusanali" thing).
Quantitative Studies are the studies envolving all things quantifiable, and usally relies an "on mass" form of results. It's highly strict and very direct.
Qualitative Studies on the other hand focuses more on the Quality of the tests and results than the mass in which it is performed. Case and point, Quantitative relies on standardize testing for a target group, Qualitative is more maleable and subject to change per individual. The Sages' push for all things Quantifiable could be aiming for a stagnation of knowledge, the inability to change scientific paradigms. Kusanali may be the new step forward they need but refuse as it's something you can't concretely analyse. (Example, Psychology in the past was heavily criticised as it relied on things you can't really touch, merely observe)
Meaning the Sages are no longer wise, they are merely parroting what came before them.

These sages are starting to sound a lot like the rulers of Byakuyakoku that manipulated the sun children. As someone that despises indoctrination, that quest really hit deep. Especially when we learnt of the personalities of each of the 7 sun children. Hearing this makes me really want to get to Sumeru and help Nahida out.
I think the only problem with the theory of Nahida being locked up in a cage is that there was that brief scene in the promotional video where the traveler was wandering through the streets of Sumeru city and saw Kusanali standing behind Katheryne. Maybe that was just promotional footage that didn't carry real weight, but I don't think so. Not that I don't think that Kusanali is being imprisoned, I just think that we may be taking the term prison a bit too literally. Not all prisons are made of metal. During the 3.0 livestream (I believe it was Aquaria - The story writer, not sure) Aquaria said that it's not only the sages but the general populis in Sumeru also seem to have a disdain and lack of acceptance towards Kusanali. Whether this is because she dreams or is simply because she isn't Rukkadevata idk, but even the general people don't seem to like her very much. I think that Kusanali is free to wander the streets as she pleases, she just generally chooses not to because she is shunned by her own people, which is likely encouraged or perhaps even started by the sages.
I think we also saw Kusanali's house in the 3.0 trailer. It's that little hut looking place that has a scene change from day to night. I think that's where Kusanali spends most of her time.
The only problem with my theory is that it doesn't explain why she couldn't travel to the GAA.
Either way, I'm so hyped to find out. Really wanna help out Nahida as well

Will I ever stop expressing how much I hate the sages? No. But the first theory honestly really reminded me of HI3.(Of how Theresa was born from Kallen's genes) and just like how Kusanali might be born from Rukkhadevata's genes (if that is possible of course) Also- if you think about it, Dottore also might have the Akasha terminal seeing as he was an Academia Student.
When you mentioned someone in the divine knowledge capsule, I think it might be a constellation (just like the one in 1.1 Event) or the memories of the said person or- they might be Rukkhadevata's memories.
Also-also- Ashikai, if the Fatui manage to get the dendro gnosis (which I think might not be possible- seeing as the Abyss and the Hexenzirkel man are in the trailer. The hexenzirkel (i think it will be a third party- maybe helping the Fatui or Sages or even the Abyss)) If they do manage to steal the gnosis (and we don't blow up the Akasha system) then would the Aksha system possibly be shut down- but then again we don't quite know how gnosis work yet...also also (sorry this is long T-T) Sumeru Academiya is pretty fucked up if you think about it-no genuinely people who went there are all unhinged- (Dottore, Signora, Lisa(maybe?) more of the future ones- hopefully)

5:58 About Kusanali going against Rukkhadevata's type of wisdom that the sages favour: I used to be an architecture student so throughout the times I spent exploring Sumeru I always made sure to take a look at the buildings.. If Kusanali favours innovation and Rukkhadevata (and in extension to that, the sages) favours the opposite of innovation, then it makes sense why most of Sumeru's buildings where people aggregate, at least on the released area, tend to have similar "building languages" (sorry, not sure of what the English equivalent is). Same green tops with similar roof style and materials, same materials, colour, and style on the main building mass...
I think what I'm trying to say is that, if their architects were taught and encouraged to innovate, there would be more buildings that still has the same breath as the traditional Sumeru style but with added tweaks here and there... Right? But I think the sages in Sumeru right now truly focuses on compiling as much knowledge as they can. As Eliphas Levi (one of the most influential Western occultist) once said, "the key to happiness is the knowledge of great secrets and the consciousness of power"ーperhaps, for these sages, too, whether one uses that knowledge for innovation or not comes second.

It makes sense that a part of Rukkadevata is in Kusanali because of her access to the leylines. Hutao's story quest did mention that those who died returned to the leylines. It also makes sense if Rukkadevata created Kusanali, or at least transferred(?) a part of the former to the latter, and if it turned out to be like Scaramouche who developed his own wisdom, it makes sense if that's why the Sages couldn't accept this change and tries to suppress it.

I wasnt looking forward to Kusanali being archon, but hearing your theory changed my mind big time. Love the contrast in ideals within wisdom between the old/new archon. Honestly really sad that adults have given up dreaming in Sumeru…hope the world quest changes that! Am rooting for her.

I wonder if Rukkhadavata is supposed to represent the left half of the brain. Analytical and mathematical. The same values of the sages and the Akademiya.
And Kusanali is represents the right half of the brain. Creativity and imagination (she has mirage/dream powers).
And the Akademiya is anti creativity and the arts, like how they disdain Nilou’s choice to pursue dance. So maybe they are starting to reject her now

I don't think Kusanali was born in Sumeru. If you look at her eyes in the art, her pupils are both four-point star/diamond shaped. Same as Kaeya's and Dainsleif's. With that in mind, I'm 85% sure that in one way or another, Kusanali is from Khaenri'ah. How? Well, I'm thinking one of two things. One, her parents might've fled from Khaenri'ah before or after the incident 500 years ago and when her mother gave birth, it was made clear that she was the next archon by something happening. Maybe it's like finding the avatar in ATLA but instead of one child controlling all the elements, it's a child controlling one of the elements but without a vision. My other theory sounds a little weird but could still make sense as this is Genshin. It was mentioned in one of the lore books we have about a story in which a man fell in love with a tree spirit, the tree spirit had to be cut down, and then Istoroth told him to replant it and thus grow a new tree and the old tree spirit reincarnated. How would this work with Kusanali though and what does it have to do with her being from Khaenri'ah? Well, the dendro archon being connected with nature, it's weird but possible that the old archon lost her life and when she died, from her blood to the plants or even the ley lines, that then let the earth essentially give birth to Kusanali. She'd be born on Khaenri'ah soil, making her one from Khaenri'ah but because she was born from the death of the dendro archon, it's Sumeru where she belongs. Those are just my theories though.

for 1, the reincarnation sytem of god/god representation can be found irl Tibet where Buddhism is major religion. The practise is the older lama, before he passed away, will speak of certain weather or landscape traits (like land below certain shape of cloud). His close followers will then use it as clues to find new borns and welcome him as successor. Well of cos this system can be easily manipulated thru politics. I guess how Kusanali was identified by sages can be an important lore

BTW Kusanali's jailbird situation kinda reminds me of the Kumali system of Nepal. Young girl was selected as Kumali and enjoys almighty status, but no freedom at all cos all her expression would be seen as god's decree/prophecy and has huge impact.

To be honest, the Liyue Qixing doesn't need a new God, as Zhongli's intention was for Liyue to defend itself without a god. Liyue decided that they didn't need a new God, so the Qixing just decided to lead the nation themselves as mortals (as planned). Makoto and Ei were twin gods, so they both shared the title of the Electro Archon. Ei just took over as Electro Archon since Makoto passed in the great Cataclysm. When Greater Lord Rukkhadevata passed, the sages still felt that they and Sumeru still needed a god, so they decided to rebirth Rukkhadevata. Unfortunately, they ended up with Kusanali/Nahida. So they just stuck with her, despite wanting the original Rukkhadevata. The reason why they probably let Kusanali be the Dendro Archon is because she's a half-baked carbon copy of Rukkhadevata.

Similarity between the Capsule and both the seed and specters is purely coincidental in my opinion. They differ in way too many details. The capsule doesn't even look organic, it looks crafted to look like a seed or fruit but there's no reason why it should have common origin with them.
Regarding Gnosis powering the Akasha, Fatui are after gnoses since the very start so I'd be surprised if they didn't want to get hold of this one too. So it may very well be them who brings their "internet" down and Traveler will more likely be there to reluctantly save the day as usual.
The Irminsul tree we get to see at the beginning and end of the trailer looks whole lot like the tree Dottore is burning in the Harbingers video. There's way too many details matching to think otherwise. I think that when we get to Sumeru the tree is already burned down and what we get to see is just an illusion, one of many we'll meet there.

Ashikai, I have a question: "Why is it that the previous Dendro Archon has "Devata" in his name and Kusanali has a surname "Devi" ??" I am Hindu and noticed this pretty quick as according to ur last video, most of the connections u made were Prussian/Greek, not Indian.
Also, "Why the forests in Sumeru are named as "Avidya" (Lack of knowledge/Education) and "Dharma" forests?

My guess is that Kusanali is a super genius little elf girl that ascended into godhood at a very young age (in elven terms so to speak). So without any other gods to challenge the archon position only she could be the next archon. So she might be rejected by the sages due to her young appearance (or as youve said, different understanding of "wisdom").

In chasm was a root cave where we got the seed of valley of life so i believe she was born there and zhongli ei and venti were either witness or they helped to make Kusanali being born since they were part of the og 7.Also their elements monuments are in that said cave in the chasm

Kusanali possibly being some sort of clone to the og dendro archon ironically kind of makes sense if you consider the fact that she's a theresa expy from honkai, and theresa was one of otto's many attempts to clone kallen, but she ended up quite not being the same, the only similarity she shares to kallen is her appearance, just younger (which also sort of matches the idea that kusanali looks young bc she was born after the og dendro archon died)

    My personal cracktheory regarding the Sages is this;
It ties in really well with what you're saying about Kusanali possibly embodying a different type of "wisdom," too. I feel like the Akadeymia either refuses to believe Rukkhadevata is gone, OR they refuse to acknowledge Kusanali as her successor. It's very apparent they want Rukkhadevata back, and, well...there was a certain someone in the Akadeymia that they labeled mad who just so happened to propose something quite outlandish in his youth. The ability to create enhanced humans, and even "that which you would call a God."
It is my belief that they turned to Dottore, the man they called a heretic, when they realized he may be one of the few people capable of bringing back Rukkhadevata in one way or another. We already know there have been plans to create an "artificial God" by the Abyss, with the Defiled Statue, Limbs of Osial and the core of the first Field Tiller as its energy source. I wouldn't be surprised if those giant Ruin Guardians in the Desert and in the Forest housed cores strong enough to power an artificial God, too.

Oh good so they fixed it I hadn't checked yet. The original P&g model was proven to be partly transparent in order to get that kind of faded far away look which was why it appeared behind the moon in the first place. I did always wonder if when they updated the model if it would still do the same thing but it turns out it doesn't. Still cool.

While people keep trying to tie the shriveled seed to the story in ways that assume it'll be relevant in the *current* moment, I'm more convinced that the seed is actually where Kusanali was "born" from, considering the connection to Sumeru in the Chasm, the odd feeling of importance and tranquility of that part of the cave, the unique music that plays, and our new knowledge that Kusanali was hastily whisked back to Sumeru after the sages presumably found her somewhere.
If this was the case, it could still serve as a REALLY important object in the grand scheme of things, but not be some impossibly relevant item to the Sumeru quest since that area of the chasm is entirely optional.
Just on an extra note though about that area, it's gotta be one of my favorite places in the game tbh, such a tranquil vibe ☺️
