Absolutely beautiful. It's just so amazing how you have taken just a few scraps of this and that and end up with something so beautiful. I think these would be darling at a bridal shower luncheon and place one at each sitting.
+Shirley Johnson thank you, that may be why this is my most viewed video.
These came out so pretty!!! They would be perfect for ornaments! I was wanting to do a large umbrella/parasol to hang on our front door, but can't bring myself to spend the cost of a large umbrella. Never thought to just use a larger circle of fabric.
Thanks for sharing!!

+Tonia P your welcome
so beautiful..i love it
+Emy Mohammed thank you
Use pinking shears to cut the fabric around the circle making a scalloped edge. Hand sew/gather the scalloped edge higher up from the edge so the scallop more extends downward and the fluted edge is seen as an extended decorative hem. Glitter fabric paint can be applied to coat the bottom edge
Awesome , making it your own is great. I have some other twists in my head and the pinking shears could be h elpful
i love this I am going to make these with toothpicks because i have a min christmas tree and i want to make tiny ornaments for it you really explained everything very well

Hi Liz, I love everything you make:)
I guess by now you know those little parasols toppers that you used are called 'bead caps'. They are used in jewellery for beads to sit in xx
Thank you, I am glad you are enjoying my designs. After 5 years I am a little more experienced but still learning.

These are lovely. I think the pointy stick at the top needs to be removed.
The caps on the tops of the parasols are actually end caps for beads...but certainly not limited to beads :)

I found some party tray toothpicks that have a metal bead at the end that would probably work really well for these. Just check down the paper plate aisle in the grocery store.
Sounds like a good idea.
very nice
Pretty. Have you ever tried to use doilies to make them?
+T Torres no. But I might. Happy crafting
Beautiful

This was a few years ago. I seem to remember 8 or 8.5" I do show on the ruler.

+jeretta1000. Maybe. Might be thick.

Yes, that is what I was thinking. I hope you are successful. I try to answer any questions I can..
these are gorgeous! how do you make them so perfect? gorgeous
I experimented with each fabric. Happy Crafting. 🙂
I watch alot of spanish ladies.there is one lady been giong years and shes very similar to you.the advantage spain has over us is.they have chinese shops that sell everything.lace.craft there is no limit.i paid 1.39 for a metre of satin ribbon in uk.when i went over i bought reels of satin ribbon at same price.
I need to search for them again. This video is from about 2017. They are no longer showing up in my feed. I now sell lace and trims in my Etsy shop. I stopped selling to UK because of the changes in tariff rules. I have to put a special code on each item and get forced returns. Since I struggle with a chronic illness, I can't handle learning about it.
@CraftyDevotion ahh.i always thought you were based in uk.i first started watching you when you done the hairpin thing for your kiddies.now I try to make mini mini roses to go on butterfly's with a hairgrip.BREXIT HAS MADE EVERYTHING COMPLICATED. I saw your new packs of dresses in your shop other day on utube.beautifully done love pastels.hope your feeling well there is a few Spanish ladies doing flowers now but I think lady who does dolls name is dhilhdra or something like that.i have alot saved I will look have good day great parasol

Your parasols are Gorgeous..!! May I PLEASE ask..Where you buy the little "metal tops" for the parasols..and where do you get the dowels..??
The dowls are the big woid skewers. I use jewelry findings and beads.
