I just purchased the Cosco Sifter XL Folding Hand Truck from Costco for $68. The base plate is larger and the handle extends. Worth the extra few dollars!! Thanks for the warning about the pinch points!
Thank you so much. Mine arrived today and it's all black, which makes it even more confusing to know where to press. I used a magnifying glass to look at the instructions on the sides of the handle and that was useless. After I finally realized how to release the handle and open it, then I could not figure out how to close it. So I searched on RUclips and your video came up right away. Very helpful. 🙂
What a huge help. We were stuck until we saw you guys explain it in clear detail. Oh, and the warning regarding the closing saved a trip to the ER. Thank you
First of all, thanks for making this video with all the warnings and a review. That helps a whole lot more than reading the small instructions. The new model, Cosco Sifter XL Folding Hand Truck, has some improvements. As Teri Takemoto already mentioned, the new model has the handle extension and a larger plate. I just want to point out that in the video, at 2:30, where you got your fingers pinched while unfolding, it is now covered by the larger plate. So, it is now a bit safer right there as long as you don't wrap your fingers around and under the plate. The back wheels are still the same size. Looks like I'll be replacing them like some others have done.
I just bought one and searched for a video to show me how to use it. So glad this is the one I chose! I followed you and was really trying to pay close attention to the pinch points but low and behold, when I hit that "FOLD" button, my one finger was still in the way and it got snapped on! I wish I'd seen this video before purchasing, but I do love the entire concept of it and it's lightweight for women to use. Just have to keep your hands out of the way! Thank you for this video!
Thank you for this video! So glad I saw this video because I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to pull the handle up and I'm definitely one of the people who would have lost a finger. You are a life saver. Otherwise I love this cart now that I understand how to operate it properly. 👏🏽
I bought this to deliver parcels. I love it. It's a learning curve to figure out how to get all the positions but that's to be expected with more functions than regular folding hand trucks and it gets easier after a few uses. Much sturdier than my coworker's Milwaukee hand truck.
Tank you guys . I just received my one . Luckily I watched your video how to open and fold it. Great instructions guys. Your instructions save my fingers.
Just pull up on the handle . I got pinched once. I also swapped the wheels to heavy duty swivel ones ... Very handy for a trade person . Just make sure you have it wedged in a safe place so it can't slide forward on sudden stop in your truck or car .. Thumbs up
I found and folding it up after you push the fold button it’s a one hand operation after that keep your hand on the green handle and the other hand in your pocket. And gently fold it and when it doesn’t collapse. Keep your hand on the green handle and wiggle it, it snaps into place.
I love my cart. I use it in the cart option. I put a bin on it fit perfect, used zip ties in front and back to secure in place and also bought bungee cords to hold extra stuff on top of the empty bin to take trash to the dumpster at my apartment. Pressure wash it and leave it on the back porch. Bought mine at Sam's Club about a year ago.
I tell you what if i dont loose a finger ill give the designer a high 5 if not a high 4 but lets hope not. Those folding cart/dolly are fire specially if you replace the smaller tonka wheels that came with it with industrial grade 3" casters.
Amazon just delivered this to my house. I’m so glad I found your video! I went straight to RUclips and didn’t even try to look at the directions because I knew they’d be useless. Thank you so much for pointing out all those pinch points! I can injure myself just walking around, so this has definitely saved me from pulling out the first aid kit!😂🤣😂
Thank you guys so much for sharing very informative and definitely saved me some fingers and a trip to the ER! Amazon needs to post this video if not already and pay you all this video is a real life saver!
I just got one and I’m checking vids online to make sure mine isn’t defective. I noticed it didn’t stand up straight at 90 degrees in dolly mode like a typical dolly would. Looks like yours is the same. Not sure if I like that because it seems less secure when boxes are stacked.
Work smarter, not harder!!! Use a broom handle to press the "fold" button--it's like wrestling with an alligator, lol!!! My major problem was how to fold the large front wheels, but after I discovered the "fold" button *that* was solved. Good luck, all!!! 😉 And YES, the instructions suck.... Thanks Brad and Alex! 🥰
The instructions are horrible so this Bob and Brad video helped a lot. 👍🏻😀 In all fairness though, it’s hard to have a folding hand truck…especially one so compact…without any pinch points. 🤷🏼♀️
I want to know how to fix the small wheel, I can't remove it, it's ain't spinning, trying to remove it to remove hair and gunk but the bolt/screw just spins, can you give me an idea? Thanks
Hi Guys, Very nice video. Love your sense of humor and banter. I do believe you may have overkilled the pinch point problem... like every tool, a new user should take their time and completely familiarize themself with their new "tool." If you don't learn all the ins and outs of any new tool, and you hurt yourself, is it the tool's fault, or the user's fault??? Thanks for sharing the video!
I was so close to buy this crap , until i saw your video no thank you I will go with alternative product. I don't need chapping machine in my house. Thank you for honest video.
I just looked at one of these at Target about an hour ago. I couldn't figure out how to begin to open it and I managed to cut the side of my hand and bleed (I've had worse). Said to my self, "Self, don't even be doing this (add a few expletives for effect)." Decided to look for a video on RUclips. Hello?!, here you guys are. The small wheels are very poorly constructed, poorly machined, loose and floppy. Sorry, you couldn't give this thing to me, it's definitely a safety nightmare! I wouldn't trust myself with one of these because I play stringed instruments and I can't afford a roadie. 😜
I can't get the first step completed. In other words, the large wheels will not lock into position. They keep popping closed. We've used it before, closed it up but like I said, now the large wheels won't lock to an open position. Any suggestions?
@@TheBobBradCrew any better than this? stronger than just 15lbs , target shows one pic with 3 water packets on it. i will use for that but 15lbs dont sound promising .

Thank you. Have one of these for 3 years. Now I can finally fold it.

I would recommend this to anyone
Ha, yes I struggled opening this one back up this morning and yes there are definite pinch points! Thanks for the video!
Its a close call everytime! I'm going to start wearing gloves when I have to operate this and have anyone that uses it sign a waiver!
@@lillianthierry1944 I'm thinking of putting some sort of red markers in those areas to remind me.
You guys are delightful you grow on me! Thanks for the warning and the clear demonstration of the danger
Thank you for leaving this video up. It came in handy for this, that I recently received as a gift.
Thanks for the video. I was able to fold my cart carefully!
ANy documented fingers lost? Please update thanks
Saved my life!
Thanks for the review; it probably saved me from future finger injuries!

Thanks you!! You saved my fingers!! And my frustration level! 😁
Thanks for the video. The directions on the side, as you said were useless. Opening the dolly is a snap now. Bob D.
I just opened up mine to close it I can understand how
Glad iit was helpful!
I love the cart. I’ve had no issue whatsoever with.
Awesome guys appreciate the demo
Have you reviewed the NEW model? The comparative value would be appreciated. The SHIFTER XL.

its a great tool. Should've watched before I tried that FOLD button!!! Augh!

Watched your video and then proceeded to still get my fingers snapped on 😅😅😅
Oh shoot!
I just got it and the big wheels at the bottom will not go out or stay out I'm going to Hope that does video helps me
Lol i hit my fingers just barely but I hit them, I have the newer style where the handle extends

When it is turned to a cart, the handle is too short from ground for a general adult.
I can't get the first step completed. In other words, the large wheels will not lock into position. They keep popping closed. We've used it before, closed it up but like I said, now the large wheels won't lock to an open position. Any suggestions?

Clever design. I hate mine.
Awe, sorry to hear that!
Thanks. The instructions that came with the dolly sucked
Glad you found this helpful!
Wife just bought this for me, pulled out of box & I said to myself be careful directions stink boy this could really screw up one of your fingers.
Hope you love it!
The pictures gave me a headache trying to figure it out lol
Are you 2 yrs old great cart
👍
It's $59.99 on Amazon now :-(
That same dolly is now $100
Hi, what's the real weight of this cart? Thanks.
Approximately 15 lbs.
