Hi I know this video is old but I'm trying to figure out what fabric might work best for the garment I'm making. I'm making a bodycon fitted skirt and I would love to pick a nice thick, smoothing knit for it. Do you think any of the Spoonflower fabrics would work for that kind of garment, or would you think of maybe doing a thicker lining in that case? I've never ordered from them. Thanks!
Hi Marsha! For Spoonflower fabrics, there are a few options depending on the weight/look you are going for. I love the Belgian Linen fabric, but it is costly. The performance linen is a great alternative and one I have used for curtains in my own home. You can also used the sweet pea gauze if you are looking for something more airy and soft, for a children's room etc.
This is really helpful! I recently ordered from Spoonflower, but I found that the prints I wanted were not available on the fabric I wanted. I ended up with the new Petal Cotton, and it’s really stiff, even after washing. Do you think I wasn’t looking hard enough for the correct fabric, or are some prints really only available on certain fabrics? I was kind of disappointed, and I’m really hoping that the Petal will loosen up after a few more washes. 😕 Anyway, I’ll save this video and refer back to it before my next Spoonflower purchase! ❤️
Oh good I'm glad it's helpful! That's strange... all of the prints should be available in all of the fabric bases, but I guess some shop owners/ designers might have the ability to control what fabrics their prints are available on. If there is ever something that you want from a specific designer, even to change the scale of the print or the background, many will create or update for you! It's worth a shot! xo- Stefanie

What type fabric would you recommend for curtains?

@@StefanieSchoen Thanks Stefanie! I'll try that next time. Love the channel!
Which fabric would you recommend for a pair of men’s classic pajamas: cotton poplin or cotton sateen?
Cotton poplin!! The sateen has more of a shine that I don’t think men would like as much. Good luck!
