Thanks for the link, but it is still in Japanese without English subs. Could you provide detailed context what that change in Sora's policy was? Thank you in advance!
She didn't explain anything explicitly. She talked about how when she started in 2017 she never expected so many people would come and support her. It opened so many doors in her career. But likewise, it also brought its own burden. She worked really hard yet she felt like she was struggling to fulfill everyone's expectations. To become "the Sora everyone wants her to be". That's why after discussing with the management and A-chan, she decided to be 'selfish' and only do what she felt suited her the best, to be able to be 'Tokino Sora' herself. My take is she changed her direction from regular streamer to idol. At the end the big announcement was her first sololive.
@@JinyasClips That reminds me of Fubuki talking about the immense pressure of being the top talent in Hololive and the relief she felt as it blew up and she didnt feel like she had to carry all of Hololive anymore. I guess we should be happy there are so many of them now and so great that even losing a talent like Coco or Aqua doesnt bring Hololive to an end and none of them feel like tis ALL on them alone
Damn.. She's like that immortal being that already experienced a lot of people close to her dying due to natural aging.. Sora is the Frieren of Vtuber World..
Sora was preparing us for the future and that i will forever be greatful, add that to the very long list of things i will be forever greatful for Sora.
I agree with Sora. Considering all of the sudden graduations and terminations within Hololive, from Magni and Vesper graduating without any final messages, to Mel and Gamma's sudden terminations and A-chan's quick goodbye, I'm just glad that Aqua will be with us for a bit longer and we'll be able to see her off properly during her graduation stream
Whenever i think of holostars, i really miss magni and vesper so much. I never have a holostar that made me laugh so hard like they do and had i know better i wish kronii would just put me on repeat during those times
You know when I watched Sora’s stream, this one. It felt very sad. She looks calm and was giggling time to time but… that 8bit bgm somehow made me imagine her alone in a room. No one but her and the game repeating that ‘bee beep’ carelessly wether how she felt. It was like watching some old footage that I can’t ever go back to nor change. Just like how Cooper would have felt in Interstellar. I can’t explain enough that the game playing in the background, Sora’s experience and her calm voice, this whole situation with Aqua blending makes such a moment like this. Aqua please stay⚓️😭
It's hard to remember that aka-soda-chan is a daisenpai, and is really mature with these matters, but she speaks the truth. It's extremely rare that we get to have a good send-off to our oshi's, and we shouldn't be sad about Aku-tan graduating... she's found a point that she needs to change roads to reach her goals, and that's all this is. We should be proud and happy that she is still working hard to achieve her dreams, and support her. It's been a crazy good 6 years with her here in Hololive... I remember first finding Aqua in the Azur Lane collab, and got all of them and their exclusive skins... Aqua has been a bright, joyful and cute Idol ever since. I cannot wait to see what she does next, and will continue to follow her if possible. 👍
Such intellect and calming of a statement to provide a stepping back perspective. Then again I will slide into a deep depression if Sora ever mentions she is leaving. She is like those last hard igneous rocks of old volcanoes. "The", cute monument valley member.
One of the many times Sora has shown herself to be wise beyond her years. Given how long she's been around in this community, sometimes it's easy to forget that she's just barely reaching her mid-20s, but she almost always has some of the most mature takes on things and she really helps others process their emotions.
I'll just quote myself. "Priorities do change. Support the girls while they're still active. Let them know once they look at the sunset in their latter years they've been a part of something special once. As last line of the "End of life" song of Cali, "Waking up now To my real life Lemme daydream ‘Til the next flight Drowning so long I got older Now the crowd’s gone Is it over?" This hit hard when you realize it. After the limelight, they're now back to becoming a normal person just like the rest of us. There's no media coverage, no headlines, no scout deals. They're just an ordinary person behind that Avatar. So make all the girls (Kohai and Senpai) time in Hololive worthwhile, it's just another working career like the rest of us, atleast made it fun for them staying as long as possible."
Sora is right, sometimes you hit a wall, and you try to find solutions to bypass that wall, while in other times, you've been there too many times to count, at that point , no matter which solution you find alone or with someone, you feel like, you reached the end, this was it for Aqua, i hope wherever she goes, she finds fulfillment and joy on what she does, just keep supporting her.
I just need to prepare myself first now, mel+a chan+Aqutan 😭,this hurts me but if it is watame, kaela, sora, suisei, mikochi, for example I will hurt a lot and need long time to recover and maybe I will not know I will maybe rage that time or angry 😢
Even Sora's time will have to come one day. Though that won't mean Hololive will gone too. I really don't like the word "pillar" to describe members, because that makes it sound like Hololive is falling apart, when we all know it is really not going anywhere. Besides, every member in Hololive is important to everyone, they all hold Hololive strong. Sure some may hold or have held it more than others, but their legacy is still enough to inspire others. You already know how many people were motivated to become VTubers because of those like Aqua. More talents are sure to come, and more are sure to keep Hololive going for many more years.
Pillar doesn’t mean when they’re gone hololive collapses. That’s not the way that term is used. What they mean is that while they were there they were a major part of the structure of the company and its identity. If you really want to be literal about it even pillars can be replaced when you’re talking tearing down 1 or 2 at a time if there are multiple.
In that case, a different word other than "pillar" would suffice. For example, some could call Sora and Gura "poster girls" for Hololive (and all of VTubers). Anyone else in Hololive could fit that role, new and old. Though then again, "poster person" might sound less genuine to others. So I suppose it's a matter of perspective of which sounds more respectful and/or fitting.
Most if not all these vtubers started streaming as a hobby. Some of them also did that because they had a hard time blending in the society. Now they are a part of big company it means there would be conflict of interest, huge demands, and also bureucracy hell and not all of them are prepared for those things. Marine and Suisei have been very vocal about it. It's up to the management to choose their priority, the investors or the talents. Talents are absolute, says Suichan. Aqua will not be the last case. What I hate to see is when my oshi loses that spark in her eyes and becomes corporate slave. Vtubers existence is more ephemeral than your favourite rock bands. Enjoy and treasure your oshi while they're still here.
Actually Suisei didnt say Talents are absolute. On the contrary, she doesnt think Talent is absolute is a good thing. Company should have leash over them to a certain degree. But finding a correct balance between them is the thing that every sides are still struggling with.
Suisei defended the rules. My oshi is a company girl now(something I have some mixed feelings on). A lot has changed in the past four years. Which is why aqua is graduating. But I do agree with you that cover/yagoo is going a bit too far with this and need to be more flexible and accommodating for their different types of talents. As it keeps costing you some of your brightest who are different that drowned under the heavy handed bureaucracy, like coco, mags, vesper, mel, and now aqua.
@@ericp631 and you shouldnt be expecting that to happen (probably ever) since cover is now playing the big game of business and corporations and the initial idea of just having fun streaming and doing 3D activities is secondary at best. Can see the changes in company direction in 2022-2023 very clearly, just look at how different is "holosummer" 2023 from the OG one. For people that only closely follow one or few members all these changes are generally a negative too since girls just keep getting more and more work that for the most part results in things that require you to buy something (merch, game/brand collabs, sponsored activities). I'm convinced its the main reason why Aqua decided to move on, something tells me she wont be the last with this reasoning.
@@ayanamikai I'm unsure what will happen. Yagoo is going to be questioned over this at the next investors meeting, and if there are more that follow for the same reason as people think, that will be a revolt. It depends on how he responds to that. I'm just giving my thoughts on what I think is the better way to handle things. They are a talent agency, and all talents require different ways of being handled. If you don't do that you end up losing them, like here. This is at the end of the day a failure on the part of the company. Now that doesn't mean I hate hololive, I am still a fan and still think it's the best as it is the one that best fulfills my taste in idol/streamer ratio. I don't hate the new hololive, I love the idol stuff(it's what attracts me here and keeps me from being a fan of other groups that just stream). 2023 was my favorite year as a hololive fan(and I have been here since the end of '19, having lived through the "golden year"). So I'm mostly onboard with this. I'm just saying that you lose something, and will continue to lose more if they don't become more flexible. Losing your stars hurts business/the bottom line more than what's gained. And isn't that the point of this? Cover's business is profiting off of aqua, you can't do that if she's not around. Thus the best course of action from a business perspective is do what you need to to keep her there
