Oof 😂. I'm happy to share any details I remember from the episode. Thanks for reminding me how skinny and awkward I was 15 years or so ago.
Did they tell you how to react? Was anything portrayed vastly different than reality? How long did the van last you?

@@summerloveleigh They didn't exactly tell me how to act, but they did do a couple retakes where they asked me to be more excited. As far as vastly different from reality...there was no loaner vehicle, only one Xbox, the carpet in part of the floor was just stapled to some cardboard so you had to be careful not to step on it. Trailer was brand new and free so it was very cool. Kept the van for about 8-12 months before we traded it in for something we could actually sleep in. The engine was also going bad, the show doesn't do any mechanic work so we didn't have much choice but to trade it.

You know for these kinds of shows that all revolve around the idea of "Take one thing and make it the entire thing", a band van has to be one of the easiest to do this with because you have to ask literally one question: What kind of music do you guys play? Like imagine if this guy's band makes like Death Metal or something and he pulls up to the gig in the Hawaiian Luau van.
It's looks like a van for a Jimmy Buffet tribute band.
Even if it was the most non aggressive, politically correct band in the whole world. No band would ever want to be seen in that piece of shit hawaiian themed van xD

As a musician who has toured several times, i am SOOO happy they gave him that trailer. the episode of pimp my ride where they just completely disregarded the persons need for storage space had me FUMIN' ! I'm a drummer too so I know damn well the importance of storage space in touring van. that thing is going to be SUCH a blessing for that kid. But also, when the fuck did he EVER say he surfed? did they just assume that bc he was wearing a drug rug? lmaoo.

I’m so glad they added the trailer after basically removing all utility from the inside of the van and making it almost useless for its primary function.

Watching these "repair" shows do all these unnecessary "repairs" to these poor individuals that just want their trucks and cars fixed makes me always remember that scene from Futurama where Hebert insisted on adding fire stickers on the planet Express ship make it go faster. Watching the team switch themes mid episode was confusing but seeing Josh discover his passion for ALL things TIKI .....priceless. Let's hope the plexiglass is removable otherwise you'd have to play standing up as it obstructs the view. Bad idea to not make the whole thing moveable and install right in the center too. But then again so everything else they've done. Just silly.

That series is a PURE content farm to pick from.
As far as I know TRICK MY TRUCK never actually required the shop to remove any of the equipment that they installed in the vehicles unlike PIMP MY RIDE which would send you home with all of your speakers removed, and all of your flat screen TVs removed.
This dude looks exactly like Shaggy, and he drives around in a van. Are we just gonna ignore the fact they could have simply turned it into the goddamn Mystery Machine and chose not to!?
Hey just a suggestion for a video, on a reality show called "The Swan" in 2004. Following the transformation of Ugly ducklings into beautiful swans. The show doesn't shy away from pointing out the person's unattractive features & flaws, making sure they know just how ugly they are. There's no way this show would be greenlit or even allowed to air on network channels nowadays. I've been subscribed since your first Chris Angel video, I'm a supporter from New Zealand.
Chris, you should definitely cover some of the more memorable To Catch A Predator episodes. I'd love to see how you react to the rat faced predator, or the TWO different people who stripped completely nude, one of which with intentions of having a cat involved. The only episode of Pimp my Ride I remember is the one where somebody is driving a rundown old ice cream truck. (I looked it up and it's Season 5, Episode 4). They found things living in the back of it.
Was actually season 4. I know exactly were that truck is today will cover it in an update vid on my channel eventually. It had 8 live mice in it and they swapped the van from a 76 to a 89 because the health departement didn't let them give the van back to the kid

Somebody needs to do a series of "Pimped/Tricked Vehicles : Where are they now?" I'd be really interested to know what happened to all the vehicles from Pimp my Ride and Trick my Truck. Even if they've been scrapped by now I'd like to hear what it was like owning it." I think people would be pretty interested in a show like that. As far as I know the only one that has been found is the pink Dodge Caravan with a bead making station in the back.
It's not that Xzibit is unavailable, but Pimp My Ride is in California, while Trick My Truck is in Missouri. Some good distance apart. Another good vehicle overhaul series was Overhaulin'.

I totally realize that the producers wanted a "surf build" episode, but for a band van, wouldn't have made sense to give them a van that promotes the band? Maybe theme it around the band that is going to be using it? Like most band vans? Maybe give them a cool, related band mascot? Something in anyway related to the band?
I just want to know why the xbox was under a perspex cover. The guy even went out of his way to make it a feature. So you cant change the disc and its gonna overheat. Excellent!
I don't know if it's necessarily out of nowhere that they're making it surfer related because the sweater that dude was wearing is called a Baja hoodie was popularized in the 1960s-1970s by surfers and its closely related to that culture.

I’m guessing them not using actual wood paneling and bamboo is so that they don’t add a ton of weight to the vehicle. But then the surfboards out the back windows is ridiculously impractical, so who the hell knows, man.
