- Jack Jacobs is in the wrong place at the wrong time, and witnesses a mob murder. Before you can say Al Capone, the FBI uproots him and his wife from their comfortable lives, and gets him a job where the gangsters would never look for him: a half-dead church in Fresno.
The couple tries to play their parts, but on Jack's first Sunday, the minister keels over dead in the pulpit and now Jack becomes Senior Pastor! Will their marriage survive this topsy-turvy life change? Could a fake minister possibly be the answer to this church's prayers?

I was laughing so much that it hurt...really hurt . I tried thinking sad stuff to stop me laughing...seriously. This was the best acted, produced Christian movie that I can remember ever seeing. Sadly most are just not up to scratch.. Brilliant flick!!

The film has very good intentions and is actually fun, but I felt that they crossed the line in terms of the respect that one should always have for the Holy Scriptures and not be morbid with them. The second commandment of: "Do not swear His Holy Name in vain" I believe would apply here. The end does not justify the means and we must be cautious in how and why we use Sacred things. I don't deny it, I laughed, but there were parts where the manipulation of the Scriptures made me uncomfortable. I don't really consider it a Christian movie. I hope I haven't offended God by having seen it.😔🙁

Wonderful funny movie bringing the truth of how religious people don't actively follow the FULL Gospel of Jesus. A true believer actively serves their community, has compassion for others just like Jesus did.
People who take this movie sooo personally, really need to get a life! Just sayin' Come on guys, its just an inocent "spoof" on hypocrits vs new-born babt Christians. The character of Jack and his wife were well plyed, and really quite refreshingly believeable for the wildly impossible situation they were thrown into. I found this movie to be most entertaining. Bravo to the writers! Thanks for a good show, it was great fun.

Something “funny” doesn’t equate to being “good.”
Feeling convicted, I had to repent for watching this even as long as I did. This movie is shameful to the true Ghospel of Christ.

Two fold.
1. In the plot the guy witnessed a murder. The only safe place is church. While in custody he was given the identity of an assistant pastor. The senior pastor died so the only person who could lead is our good pastor “jack”
Secondly it’s a play on words. The phrase can i get a witness, is a phrase that mean can someone agree with my message.
