You seem to be easily annoyed Gordon, and in the minority, judging by the many other comments praising the black and white photos we get from our viewers. I’m not sure how our free to you videos can be blamed for what you pay for your colour TV, but I’m sure there are many other RUclips channels totally in colour that are more suited to you. Thanks for watching 😊
It is called artistic content. Black and white pictures are often more striking than the colour equivalent. You are not forced to watch. If you do not like, simply do not watch. There are thousands, if not millions, of other RUclips vlogs.
Hi Pete and Caroline , After the first winding hole it came to my mind, my father use to say .... ...❤ " I was looking back to see if you were looking back at me to see if I was looking back at you " ❤ ....lovely videos and music from both of you and your lovely tailwaggers Poppy and Hamish 🐾🐾 Viewing all ...warms my heart.🦘🚐🌦
Yes he was lovely . It was when you said "Expertly done ...see you soon " and Pete looked back to you and waved as you went off to get the car .....🕊 @onedaymoreaboard
A lovely idea to carry the doggy when he's tired - he's one lucky doggy ! Nice that your son could be there while hubby is away. Always a pleasure to see your adventures & your beautiful human & animal family. Thank you for your video !
You are so kind Veronica! The doggie backpack is a wonderful solution for Hamish to continue enjoying our adventures as he slows down. It’s always entertaining when Alex comes to visit 😊
That is a beautiful mooring in Braunston, with All Saints Church looking down on you....and then the fox reminds us of the natural world and its daily tribulations. Simply lovely video Caroline. Well done and thank you for sharing it with us.
You’re so welcome Neil! It is such a beautiful mooring, and lovely to hear the church bell ringing practice on a Thursday evening. I thought exactly the same when I saw the fox. It’s the circle of life isn’t it. 😊
Hamish looks soooo cuite in the backpack, they are very cute doggies! Looking forward to another adventure along the canals! You had a great view of the sheep and duckies, that naughty fox taking one of the baby ducks! Thanks for sharing!
You’re so welcome, lovely to hear that you enjoyed it! Hamish definitely gets lots of cute comments from passers by as he’s riding in the doggie backpack. It’s the perfect solution for him continuing to enjoy our adventures. That mooring was perfect with the beautiful view and the ducklings and lambs, but sad to see the fox get one of the ducklings. But that’s the circle of life isn’t it 😊
Touching to see how Hamish struggels to keep up, showing he has the will to go, but lacks the ability. He shurely loves when he gets a ride in the backpack 🙂 Love from Denmark
He’s doing so well for his 15 years isn’t he! And the backpack has been the perfect solution to keep him adventuring with us. Thank you for joining us from Denmark 😊
Oh Hamish 😍 He’s just so blummin cute in the back pack! Alex and his lunch 😂😂 I will put it down to being filmed that he looked so awkward 😆 Thank you for another beautiful vlog 🥰
You’re so welcome Lesley! Hamish does attract a lot of attention and cute comments when he’s riding in the backpack. I think Alex was most concerned about the egg splattering everywhere 😂😂
I love the name Professor Pat Pending, I used to be a big fan of The Wacky Races, my favorite character being Dick Dastardly's dog called Mutley - what a great laugh he had. Pete makes winding look so easy! At 12:22 it is indeed a sad sight, I wonder what storey unfolded before the boat sunk I do appreciate how much you actually film and the amount of editing you have to do to make such a lovely video to watch. I’m sure narrowboat life can’t be 100% perfect, but thanks for sharing all the good parts with us. As always, an entertaining vlog and a pleasure to watch Thanks for sharing 😊😊
Muttley was a favourite o famine too Gordon, that laugh was something wasn’t it! Pete’s winding the boat sped up 20x did look really easy didn’t it! We went through the stretch with the sunken boat again last week and it’s been removed now, but it had been there for quite a while, honestly to a mamma duck and her ducklings. It’s always a sad sight as you know someone has lost their home 😞
Hiya Poor Hamish trying so desperately to keep up bless his heart ❤️❤️❤️. And young Poppy up and down the steps . Nice to see you all the food looked lovely but am afraid I can not anymore I have to have my gallbladder removed, trouble is there's a 12 month waiting list. Anyways have nearly finished your surprise. Until next time take care 😘 X X X
He’s a determined little chap when he wants something, like a treat! And Poppy will race around forever if we let her! Keeping fingers crossed that you get a date for your operation sooner than 12 months. Looking forward to our surprise! 😊
Lovely video...such a beautiful spot to moor. Loved all the sounds of nature. I have a bottle of that brown sauce in my fridge, right here in Arkansas USA!
So lovely to hear that you enjoyed the video Carol! Alex would be very pleased to hear you have his favourite sauce! We took many, many road trips up through Arkansas, from Houston to St Louis where he was at college! 😊
Lovely location - church bells , ducks, sheep in the background. Hope everyone is doing well. Weather here been cooler and wet again. Looks like a warm up for the coming month. Then into September and the cool down for fall and soon 'winter'. God bless - hope this message finds you all doing well. Spinner
I know you’ll be pleased to hear that summer has finally arrived here Spinner! It’s been a tad warm on the boat though! Up in the high 80s in a steel tube with no AC. We have a small cooling unit though which is quite effective! We shouldn’t be complaining as we’ve been waiting for the warmer weather for a while now! Hope you and the boss are keeping well 😊❤️
Think I recognised all those stretches of canal….cant think why 😜. Fab to see Alex enjoying his time on the boat again and how Hamish loves being carried in the back pack. Gongoozlers breakfast sandwiches are the best but certainly not the easiest to eat as the pic you took of me showed 😂. Oh yeah, nearly forgot, that sofa looks soooo comfortable, it would make a perfect bed for someone 😜. Xx
That sofa really is the most comfortable bed! Poppy misses her Uncle Phil to curl up with! Alex always adds another level of entertainment to the vlogs for sure 😂😊
Lovely vlog, best of both worlds with the car at hand but the amazing views just around the corner. You feel the pace ease as soon as you get on the toepath. Always great to see Alex on the boat, wonder if he would like one of his own later. Old boy Hamish is doing well for his age and am sure he loves a backpack adventure now he has the best views! ❤❤❤
Thanks so much Eric, glad you enjoyed it! For the convenience of having the car we can put up with the hassle of moving it. It’s just part of the adventure really. Alex always adds another level of entertainment to the vlogs! He likes visiting but he much prefers life on his big cruise ship. Hes signed another contract for the winter so he’ll be heading off to start rehearsals in a couple of months. It’s good to have him around between contracts though, and to carry the doggie backpack. Hamish would be smiling in that if he could, he’s so content in there 😊
Love your videos. Liked that Hamish saved his little legs in Alex’s backpack. Would you mind sharing with me the name of the song at the end of your videos please. ? Happy cruising. Looking forward to the next instalment. xx
Haha so good to hear Angela! Hamish definitely loves to ride in that doggie backpack. We often say if he could smile he would! The music at the end is Time On Our Side by Ten Towers. You can hear the full version on RUclips here ruclips.net/video/0MqqeXvnk78/видео.htmlsi=IGP1J1-OJUx0F0KT 😊
The actual boating part wouldn't change that much but the logistics would be very difficult without the tech. I'm pretty sure that is the same view that Wes and Amy had recently. The view of the field and the church steeple looked the same. Fun to watch Alex deal with his giant sandwich. Cutting it in half was a good move. 😊 I didn't know that Hamish was that old. He seems to be doing really doing well. Tired is a factor in my old life too. ❤
We would love not to have to rely on the technology, but it certainly helps! You’re right, and vey eagle eyed, that’s the same spot that Wes and Amy were moored recently. We caught up with them last week heading in to Warwick and now we are both heading on the same direction so I’m sure we will leap frog each other a few more times. It’s always good to catch up with friends unexpectedly! Alex always adds another level of entertainment to the vlogs! And it was good having him here to carry the doggie back pack. Hamish is doing so well for his age and fingers crossed we have a couple more years with him. He’s had a very healthy life so far 😊❤️
@@onedaymoreaboard I had a little "Benji" terrier that I adopted at age 14 and she lived to 18. She never got obviously sick. I think she just 'ran out'. I hope Hamish has many more years. ❤
We hope we have a couple more years with him too, and hope he just ‘runs out’ like you say. It’s so hard to make that final awful decision when they get sick like we had to with Jasper 😞
Love the backpack for Hamish! I’d love to see a video on your favorite canal routes. We’re hoping to hire a narrow boat next May for about ten days to try it out. Would love to know what town to start in and what canals to explore. Your videos are very relaxing. Cheers!
That’s a very good idea for a future video! As for our favourite, I think it has to be the Llangollen for the variety. The tunnels, the lift bridges, the aqueducts, and the lovely little towns and villages along the way. You can hire from Whitchurch or the Trevor Basin or Chirk I think. But the stretch from Braunston down to Oxford is also lovely and one of our favourites too. So hard to choose. You can rent from Braunston, Napton or Oxford for that area. Hope this helps with your research! Happy travels 😊
Poppy is certainly a character, and very vocal! I think the Gongoozler’s breakfast baguettes are enough to last for a week! But it has to be done when you’re passing through Braunston! Some of the solo guitar music is Alex’s. I usually note it on the screen when it’s his 😊
I forgot, we’re going on our friends narrow boat in the West Midlands at the weekend. Only a day out from the marina, will be our first time on it since they renovated it. Wonder if we will meet any vloggers on our journey ? Wish us luck !
We just did autherley junction going away from Wolverhampton have you seen the house with all the weird tv and film stuff in the garden ? Owners very friendly but eccentric xx
Yes we have seen that house which some very varied and different garden ‘ornaments’! One of our favourite things is the different view you get from the canal and you be a little bit nosey 😊😂
There are many, many bridges across the canal network with these lay-bys close by, and we always make sure we are not obstructing the road or a farmer’s access gates, so it’s all done legally. Lots of boaters and towpath walkers use this sort of parking. Thanks for watching 😊
What's with black and white stills ? Besides being annoying, I pay for colour TV.
You seem to be easily annoyed Gordon, and in the minority, judging by the many other comments praising the black and white photos we get from our viewers. I think they’re ace, especially the BW still transition to colour Video.
This comment brings to mind a song by Jilted John…I can’t quite remember the title but I’m sure Google will know!
Your Westies always make me smile - Hamish was a real trouper in this vlog - even gamboling at pace at one point. Love them both!
He really was wasn’t he Jeff! Every now and again he does get that little trot on like he’s still a puppy! Thanks for watching 😊

He really does. He’s a lucky boy ❤️
Enjoy the videos! Especially the special effect photos they are amazing
Hamish is my favorite!!!
Thanks!
