Best soundtrack of all games
I remember being ranked 11th in the world at one point in BFV. All I mostly did was fly helicopters and jets. Man I loved that game and BF2.

Just sayin', by the time of the vietnam war both Mi-8 and MiG-21 were state of art top of the line modern weapon systems :P

The Mi-8 helicopter was actually brand new at the time of the Vietnam war. The Mi-8 and its variants are probably some the best transport/utility helicopters in the world because they serve in many countries' air forces to this day.
The huey design does too in the Canadian Griffon and the USMC Uh-1Y

Actually, the name Huey does not refer to the city Hue. Rather, it refers to it's original desgination, HU-1. This was later changed to UH-1, but the nickname stuck.

I dont think medic class was unpopular in BF 1942. It is one of the top most played classes in the game.
just because ppl enjoyed the rapid fire smg. nobody used the healing ability, because it gave you no score. that was the reason they changed it in bf2.
I never played the original, but Bad Company 2 Vietnam was fucking great, I'm so sad it is now dead when regular BFBC2 is still alive and kicking like crazy.
I don't know if anyone said this, but there was one map with a helicopter in the BF42 Secret Weapons expansion pack.

Huey was not named after Hue city, it was named after it's designation as when it was initially introduced it was designated HU-1 instead of UH-1 as it was later redesignated.
I remember being like 12-13 years old and refreshing the website multiple times a day for weeks to see the Countdown to launch of this game decreasing on their main page.

I remember the NVA were actually overpowered because they had a class with the SA-7, a heat seeking rocket launcher that allowed them to easy fend off air attacks. I was always playing as the American underdogs.
I played this game very much in this time. Would be great to play it now at my phone with a controller.
with a controller?? The engine was so laggy and the feeling was as if you are stuck in glue. playing it with a controller must be a pain in the ass.

Huey is derived from the original aircraft designation of HU-1(later changed UH-1)and when said designation was was said at speed it came out as Huey😁 Also the city Hue is pronounced like WAY 😁 The USN also brought a battleship to the conflict, the USS New Jersey BB 62😁

Is there a way to get this game legally? I'm not sure if EA sells this on Origin (and I highly doubt that they do), and I'm not exactly keen on using torrents and the such.
I guess until I find out, I'll just be using the Project Vietnam config for Ravenfield (and work on making a config for The Troubles, as well)

i loved bfv. but what really bothered me was the damage model. you had to empty a whole mag to score a kill. the hitbox detection seemed to be buggy as hell. or the napalm. did you really played the game? It barely did damage to persons or material. what was it good for? (absolutely nothing)
Yes, the self aming missles seemed to be unfair, but it wasn´t that easy to score a kill. First, they tracked other planes reliably only from behind. 2nd, they sometimes got distracted by ground vehicles and at last you often needed 3 hits to destroy the target. so you had to wait for the 3rd rocket to reload and had to turn at least one time, that gave the opponent time to evade.
And finally, why is everybody from western countries thinking that russian gear is automaticly outdated? The mi8 and the mig21 were brandnew and gave the us hell.

If they were smart they would return BF to Vietnam before they take the COD route into Star Wars futuristic bullshit. Vietnam has all the modern weapons people like without all the Star Wars crap. I don’t wanna fight robots!!! Vietnam has the whole spectrum of battles....urban warfare, jungle, naval battles, seiges, and so on.
