    Not wanting to start a forest fire in all this heat I used my kma135 with brush knife on bracken/fern you only need the low power setting lasted most of the morning another reason to switch to battery power no worry about starting a forest fire

    With the AP 500 this is quite good🙂 been using it this year, with the 300 it was a little boring compared to a 460 last year👍

    Quick question. Does your brushcutter run slow for 30 secs or so when started? I sent mine back and they said that was normal. Just wanted to check with any other users. Thanks

    LOVE my FSA 135 R. - !! I haven’t used it as a brush cutter….. but now will give it a go. How would it fair against Burdocks in the northeast??

    • @sirvozelo1
      @sirvozelo1 2 года назад

      I have the 135 Trimmer, I never see a Burdock plant but from what I see on the pictures I am convinced with proper blade it with slice trough the Burdock like butter. I have cut small oaks probably 2" diameter no problem. Just use the proper blade.

    AP300 I think you are underpower I have a 135 but I use AP500 and as a back up I have a AP300S. Is not the power but how long the battery last with AP300.

    • @Carlsmower
      @Carlsmower  2 года назад +1

      Yeah ideally you would definitely stick with an AP 300 S or 500 (when we get them)

    I bought one of these stihl FSA 135 yesterday at a cost of nearly £1000 for the Strimmer. Battery and charger.. is this a joke , takes 70 minutes to charge the AP300s battery (once it has cooled down as it won't charge whilst the battery is hot, so that could take another 20 or 30 minutes) then gets maybe 25 minutes of use .. at this rate , its gonna take me a year to do 3000 sq m.. should have got a goat..

    • @Carlsmower
      @Carlsmower  2 года назад +2

      Your run time is longer than 25 minutes and what charger did you get? The best way to go about it is to have two batteries and that will allow you to pretty much keep operating the machine

      @@Carlsmower Stihl AL 300 charger and ap 300 s battery.. I very much doubt that having 2 batteries would keep me running because it takes so long just for the battery to cool down before charging, then 70 min charge time....

      I have the 135 for about 1 year so far I am happy, I have 3 AP500S batteries and 1 AP500 charger. Also most the time if is just grass I not need full power so it got me more battery time. I have not really clocked bat it takes about 40 minutes to charge the AP500S with 500 charger, I have also the 100 this one yes one eternity over 3.5 hours to charge the battery. I make the change from gas to battery and so far I am happy, I have in chainsaws the MAS300, 220C, 161T, GTA26 and batteries I have 1 AP200, 1 AP300, 3 AP300S and 3 AP500S.

      I must’ve missed that in the manual I’m gonna have to reread it. Chaps are designed to shred when contacted by a chainsaw chain and beings that I wasn’t running a chainsaw chain are you thinking it’s more of just protection from impact?

    If you want to use this weed eater with that knife to cut blackberries then you either do not have a clue or you are just making a commercial (and a bad one). It is obvious this thing cant deal with this shrub. Any time it hits a thicker branch it stops. You can not work like this.
