I loved this video and the fact that you don’t try to conceal anything! This is sooo relatable, I live in Costa Rica, houses are not always new or fantastic and you have to make it work. In my apartment I also have a cucaracha problem😂 sending you a big hug from the tropics and good luck on your new adventure!!!
sending you a big hug back from Shenyang - a different part of china where there are fewer cucaracha😂we don't get to decided what life gives us, but we can definitely make it work:)
Can tell you made this video super intentionally!! Not a moment was wasted and everything was super engaging Impressed with all the adjustments (added curtain, wood vinyl) you made to make it look nice on a budget!
thank you!! I did outline the video, just didn't have time to write a script. It feels so liberating making a video this way. So happy you liked it, and yes, it's not about getting a nice fancy apartment, but all about making the small adjustments that make it feel like home🏡
Evelyn!! Haha, this is by far the best apartment tour I've seen! I love that you bring me from outside to inside to give me the immersive tour, as you mentioned. Also, I love your DIY table! I'm going to have to do that to mine too as well! Hahaha, yes to using dishwashers as storage! You're not alone there. Who else?!
I found your channel like a week ago and would you believe me if I tell you that I’ve watched all the videos you have published in the last 12 months? Insane! I really enjoy what you do. Wish you all the best in life (even when I’m a unknown person from the other side of the world 😅)
I have also spent a long time in Guangzhou and now visit occasionally. Your videos are very authentic, and I like the natural emotions you express in them. Also as an INFP, this is very attractive to me. hope you have a happy trip.
guangzhou is full of wonders! it was a crazy experience to get to live in a place like that. I loved all the little plants growing on random buildings, on the side of the street, and the mix of colonial architecture and traditional cantonese buildings with so much character...
I'm in Guangzhou right now! This city is gorgeous. I hope you had a good time here and that you may enjoy your adventures elsewhere! Thank you for providing relaxing and down-to-earth content for so long as well. I really have enjoyed watching your channel grow from your vlogs in Beijing to this. Good luck!
Evelyn, I can't tell you how many times I catch myself smiling when I watch your videos. Your content gives me so much joy and I look forward to every upload!☺
Oh felt very surprised when you told about bad luck opening umbrellas inside the house/apartment bc here in Brazil we also hear this superstition a lot 😅
best apartment tour i've ever seen! thank you for being so open and realistic and props for your DIY skills and problem solving with the roaches :) is your cat going in the plane with you? (like not in the undercarriage?) curious about how it works!
Ive been thinking of living in china, im 18 living in Algeria right now and it’s very intimidating to go outside of my comfort zone and do what I truly want. Ngl im worried about money and all but, I feel that living in china will give me a lot of opportunities for my art animation career! Haha just saying that makes me very relaxed, currently learning mandarin, wish me luck :)))
I love your videos so much but I think you showed so much your building and your street. so many creps there so be careful about that. Love u ❤ sending so much love from turkey 🇹🇷
lmao I loved this tour, so real. Was gonna say I was jealous with that crazy low rent compared to Tokyo, but after seeing the cockroaches I don't mind paying 5x as much for a smaller space 🤣
it'll take me another few months to get to Germany (more updates in the next vlog!) but yes, excited to show you my next home and taking on along the journey!
The one book had the title "Berlin", so i guess thats answered then :) Couldnt imagine you guys in any other german city to be honest. Hope you guys have a safe trip / move Greetings from Hamburg ;)
Some of your best work so far! Truly. Love you keeping it real and infusing so much joy, gratitude, and humor into a realistic apartment tour. (Also I feel slightly called out by the NY comment in the title as someone who currently overpays for rent here 🥲😂)

To get rid of the roaches use food grade diatomaceous earth, it's a powder. Place it everywhere, on the cabinets, corners, where the roaches may roam. It won't poison your cat. I've used it on my home for years and I own cats too. Btw, love your channel! ❤
MY GOSH I AM NOT ALONE :0 !!! I recently stumbled upon your channel and I couldn't believe how relatable your content is to my personal experience. Like you, I found myself trapped in the corporate world (for 14 months), despite it not aligning with my true passion. Your videos about thriving for an enjoyable life and shedding light on the realities of corporate life really resonated with me, especially when you talked about feeling completely drained after work with just enough energy to watch TV. I wanted to reach out and let you know that you are not alone in this struggle. I have actually created a short movie-like video that delves into my own personal journey of those 14 months in corporate, highlighting the highs and lows of the experience. Given how much I felt I was not alone watching your content, I thought you might find it interesting to watch. I genuinely believe that you will be able to empathize with my story and perhaps even find some inspiration in it :) I'm truly excited to be a part of your community and I look forward to supporting your channel going forward. Keep up the amazing work!
such a cozy environment you created in your apartment. loved the vibes and especially the way to your apartment. btw best of luck for your new journey. waiting for new vlogs in new place.
thank you so much🥰who would have thought that'd be a way to enter an apartment haha...so blessed to have experienced a place with so much character in my life
I just found your channel through your "how youtube changed my life" video and now I'm binging your videos - you're such a sweet soul and I relate to so many things you're saying. Glad the algo blessed me with a perfect recommendation 🧡 And it sounds like you'll be moving to Germany from what I've learned in the past few hours (that actually makes me sound like a creep lol) - looking forward to seeing you explore Berlin in the future🌻 Best wishes from Hamburg/Germany!
imo it does - even just as a placebo. I used to buy them but my one is actually just lavender oil + water in a spray bottle😂I just shake it before spraying it on my pillow and it feels the same with the fancy ones🤫
Well if Dave thinks books are clutter, I don't know if I am rooting for him to move to Berlin as well. Also, you're going to love English second hand bookshop situation in Berlin. There's a shop where everything is like 1€
Very interesting Apartment tour, Evelyn! For me as a German Chinese Apartments are always a little bit strange. Bars outside the Windows (what are they good for?) or living so close with smoking neighbors that you can smell their cigarettes ... I like very much the way you present your VLogs! Watching is always a pleasure 👍👍
you know I've always wondered about the bars too...and I really feel like smocking in the hall ways is a public health hazard, but, we deal with that life offers us the best we can, I'm grateful to have been able to experience a city/neighborhood very different from where I grew up✨

The vibes and humor were immaculate in this video!
ummmm is that me getting marginally funnier under stress😂
This 👆🏽❤ omg. Love thissssss
from the litter box to the brownies was a genius segue 😂 your humor is top tier. wish we were pengyous
Evelyn!! Haha, this is by far the best apartment tour I've seen! I love that you bring me from outside to inside to give me the immersive tour, as you mentioned. Also, I love your DIY table! I'm going to have to do that to mine too as well!

wow...thank you!! That means a lot
Love it. Just being the real you, no shame or anything. Can't wait for the Germany VLOGS !
Most real apartment tour I’ve seen

I love this vid so much and I'm glad you're still making videos! It's making me miss
China even tho I just left, so relaxing and chill omg.
I have also spent a long time in Guangzhou and now visit occasionally. Your videos are very authentic, and I like the natural emotions you express in them. Also as an INFP, this is very attractive to me. hope you have a happy trip.
the neighborhood has so much personality and it’s so cute how your apartment is like.. cutely tucked away in this interesting place haha

@@tapiocapress its awesome, I love those small features that end up giving it so much personality !!
Loved your honesty ! Thank you so much for sharing this part of your life

omg have the best time in guangzhou!! thanks so much for being apart of this little community🥰
Very honest tour! I hope your next place is bug free. I don't know how you dealt with it. Looking forward to seeing your next place!
When I got my first apartment in China, i also thought that the sterilizer was a dishwasher…I love your sense of humor!
the biggest bummer in the world😭
the vibes here are 10/10, best of luck with your new adventures!
thank you
What an authentic apartment tour. 😄 You look happy. 😊 Wish you a fun time wherever you go. ✈
Best of luck in your next chapter of your life - Germany !
Evelyn, I can't tell you how many times I catch myself smiling when I watch your videos. Your content gives me so much joy and I look forward to every upload!☺
so happy to have put a smile on your face:) this comment put a smile on mine too😊
Oh felt very surprised when you told about bad luck opening umbrellas inside the house/apartment bc here in Brazil we also hear this superstition a lot 😅
oops haha I honest can't remember where i've heard that...but it gives me a warm feeling to learn we have more similarities than we know!
Really excited to see your new life in Germany, as much as I have been when seeing your adventures back in China :)
I'll be in China for a few more months. Really excited for the move to Germany too (Also a bit scared!)
Most interesting, honest house tour I've seen! Hopefully your next place is roach free 😂
fingers crossed haha
best apartment tour i've ever seen! thank you for being so open and realistic and props for your DIY skills and problem solving with the roaches :)
is your cat going in the plane with you? (like not in the undercarriage?) curious about how it works!
yes! He's going in the cabin with me thankfully...more on that in the next vlog:)

The video was amazing and lovely !!!!
Very realistic video I love it❤ and hopefully you will have a next apartment without extra pets
Have fun in Germany!! Im travelling there in May, i am so excited :)
I'm so sad for Dave's bar, I hope he is in a good place
Dave here, thank you for the concern, I'm doing ok!
I love your videos so much but I think you showed so much your building and your street. so many creps there so be careful about that. Love u ❤ sending so much love from turkey 🇹🇷
hi sis, apartments in Guangzhou are so cheap, even cheaper than Indian cities. Welcome to Guangzhou
You have to walk 8 flights of stairs every day to get to your beautiful apartment? Worth it
amazing diy countertop hack!
good luck with the move! just wondering if you could share the procedure of how to get your cat to fly with you?
lmao I loved this tour, so real. Was gonna say I was jealous with that crazy low rent compared to Tokyo, but after seeing the cockroaches I don't mind paying 5x as much for a smaller space 🤣
Brazilian here we have the same superstition about open umbrellas inside the house 😂
haha thanks for keeping it real about the pests 😅
🙈😂
Oooo I have read Kim Ji Young two months ago or so I was left in between tears and rage.
I cried through the second half of the film 😭
Love all the diys that make your apartment home, maybe we will get to see more in your new place in Germany 👀?
it'll take me another few months to get to Germany (more updates in the next vlog!) but yes, excited to show you my next home and taking on along the journey!
Very cute tour, I can't wait to see where you go :)
we get to experience alcoholism at home *sparkle* lol but for real *need* the link to the table risers
Wowwwwww😮cockroaches.. I would dieeee. That’s my worst nightmare
those roaches 😱. I wouldn't be able to live there...I would be scared of roaches crawling into my mouth when I sleep at night 🤣
Free protein
they usually stay in humid aread in the house, kitchen and bathroom, not bedroom, but they are so big they are easy to spot and kill.
The one book had the title "Berlin", so i guess thats answered then :) Couldnt imagine you guys in any other german city to be honest. Hope you guys have a safe trip / move
Greetings from Hamburg ;)
thank you
I would die if I had cockroaches in my house 😭💀💀
OMG how come you live with roaches and you still stay there 😢
Hope you have a smooth trip to Germany 🎉
thank you!!
Oh, that 'Ooh, an oven! Oh, it's a dish sterilizer...' Chinese apartment experience 😂
so true 😭
You're adorable, I hope we can meet someday. :) I can totally see us being friends. P.S. I don't know how you're so calm about the roaches!!!
I love your sincerity here with cockroaches ❤✨😂
👏👏👏

thank you so much🥰who would have thought that'd be a way to enter an apartment haha...so blessed to have experienced a place with so much character in my life
And this is what the real world looks like, not an Instagram illusion.
What microphone do you use? I'm looking for a new one!
I stopped watching after the roaches cam out
Thank you for blurring them 😭
Germany, yeah! I fear, you wont find cheap apartments in the big cities here anymore...on the upside: less bugs usually 🙂 Will you bring your cat?
absolutely yes! No going anywhere without him😺
only thing i don't like about GZ it's really crowded and freakign humid summer. its like miamia weather
Love the honesty of this tour, especially about the roaches!😂 Can't wait for the big update
be well... one thing I DON'T miss about Guangdong, Taishan specifically, is the roaches and the flying ones!
my parents stopped my organ (instrument) lessons because they think "i dont like it enough" too when i was still a kid!!!
hahah i love that you brought us to the street!! also your apartment is so neat i could never :")
I really like your design style! The cabinet and table papering look really nice and great for apartament living.
yess! wallpapering is my #1 cost effective hack for makeovers
Excited for more videos along with your moving vlogs!!!

Hi, just checking up on you
Such a beautiful intro. How do you do that?
It's cute and cozy ❤

It’s so cuteeee
✨the vibes✨
at 10:32 where her schedule is there i thought one of the points said 'boobs food' haha
positive comment for the algorithm
Lol this was so real 😬
Entrance through underwear street... There must be some silly immature joke in there, but I can't find it. 🤣
and i thought pittsburgh was cheap 😭

👏☺
This video was incredibly thought-provoking. It sparked a lot of interesting discussions.
Why is this accurately asian (the gas range, cockroaches, the umbrella outside and the clothes just forever hanging to dry)
idk if your true rent is $440, saying 220 in your title seems a bit dubious...
