You seem to have some of the questions I have had too (though our outcomes might be different). I think your point of “getting out of touch” hits. It is one of the main reasons I didn’t go full time RUclips. But I like the business outlook here. Having a mission, vision and strategy for yourself can guide the content you create. Love the insights here and I’m excited to see more from you Shaw :)
Whoa thanks man! Been subbed to you since grad school :) I think I'm now finding the right balance of doing vs documenting... I'm curious to learn more about your journey. You've been at this a bit longer than me 😅
once I watched one of your videos I immediately subscribed then I continued watching the video because I said to myself: "this guy is your go to when you want to watch anything related to ML" , and even I'm a JS developer and not a big python fan I enjoy a lot your content. I don't have any experience on this but I think focusing only on quality RUclips content + selling paid courses as a main income source can be more than enough, also maybe change a little bit the targeted audience to a bigger one ? example of building real Ai apps from scratch instead of just explaining a micro-thing, like on your RAG video, people would love to see a "chat with pdf app" rather than just a RAG course again this is just what I think GOOD LUCK :)
Thanks for sharing your experience. This is great feedback! I was initially hesitant about a course, but it seems there is some demand for it. Building specific projects seems to be popular (@NicholasRenotte comes to mind) and seems like fun too :)
Thank you for telling us about what you learned recently which is really great. Here is a book I recently listened to, "So Good They Can't Ignore You" by Cal Newport it gave me a different perspective on passion/love for what you do. I found it very insightful.
Another thing to consider is pleasure too. Of course you need to make a living, but making videos is so fun, and I perfectly understand the thrill to do weekly ones and push this aspect of the business, though it is a challenging type of business and I'd also surely recommend testing other alternatives to find a "Safer" or more scalable approach, especially in smaller fields like ours (vs. comedy or like gym content).
LOL misery loves company I suppose XD Experimenting with other revenue sources is probably what I'm most excited about. Hope we can compare notes soon :)
@@ShawhinTalebi You’re right and I’m not naive enough to believe I can change the structure of content creation as a whole but I will require more from those I subscribe to in the future.
Hi, nice and useful content in you channel. I have 2 questions: 1) what's the kind of content that drives you more consulting? 2) Is that your real kitchen? maybe an apartment tour would be nice as well :) thnx.
I Appreciate all that you do, thank you!
Thanks I appreciate the encouragement. Glad it's helpful :)

Hey man. Love the content. The post mortem was super informative and engaging. Your subscribers are on this journey with you. Need to chat again soon.
Glad you liked it! For sure, anytime :)

You have achieved so much 👍
There's a long way to go 😅, but I've also come a long way. Thanks for the reminder :)

Thanks for the rec, I'll need to check that out!
These particular videos where you share what you learned are super cool! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the feedback! I’ve been considering more like this since the technical content can be a lot to chew on at times 😅
your videos have helped me a lot,
Glad to hear :)
I love this type of videos Shaw! Also fun to see someone going through the same challenges and lessons haha

very very helpful
great content

All quantity over quality content creators should definitely watch this.
It's an art finding the balance and my sense is it can depend on many things e.g. channel topics, creator's style, where creator is in their journey

Thanks for sharing. Im interested in the cohort based AI course & its potential content.

thnx.
1) It seems to be my most popular content, which is on LLMs
2) LOL! Yes it is. Perhaps something for my instagram or TikTok :)
use word gemini instead of openai or huggingface, youtube will promote yourself
Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a try.
