- This song was supposed to be included in Jon McLaughlin's album "OK Now", but for unknown reasons, the song didn't make the cut. Beyoncé's version is included in her 3rd album, "I Am... Sasha Fierce (Deluxe Edition)" and is called "Smash Into You".
One of my favorite songs. I love his and Beyoncés versions. God it’s been 15 years already.
I was today years old when I found out Beyoncé did a cover of this beautiful song on her album. This version hit different though😩❤️. Beautiful song.
She doesn’t call it a cover, she stole it and put her writing credits on it
@@becky977 She got the song legally, just like Jon did 😂 The song was written and produced by The Dream, who wrote it for himself. No one stole anything.

Yes, I've heard him after posting this comment, but this studio version, if I would choose who the winner is, it's this piece because his voice is flawed and you can hear cracks, lack of control and breathing then there us no vibrato like beyonce does it (beyonce sung it so perfect so controlled, flawlessly with perfect everything (on the studio version we are talking) But he gives me chills whenever i hear this studio version of john's (I Love Beyoncè more that john though believe me) but this song, ugh, it's his ^^ (i'm a performer too). it's just beautiful beacause his is flawed but it was beautiful like everyone, nobody is perfect but we are beautiful because we aren't perfect.

this song is seriously like my favorite song in the entire world. it will always be dedicated to the ONE girl i fell for. It seriously explains the way i feel about her in just one song. so beautiful. i love Jon Mclaughlin. He changed my life with this song.

his melancholy, raspy tone suits this song MUCH more than Beyonce's....it's really down to the way this song is sung
[continued..] The Dream and Beyonce as well as another writer helped re do the song as well as Beyonce producing this song as well.
The song and instrumental works with is voice..I’d prefer he said *smash* tho smack sounds strange...I dunno maybe it’s because I’m used to hearing smash lol but either way this song suits his voice so much you can really tell this was his song

This song is flawless Beyonce demaded to cut in "OK Now" it so she can steal and use it on her own album....
She didn’t steal it. She was given the song legally (bought the song) just like Jon did. It was written and produced by The Dream. Not by Jon.

See thats where you're wrong. The Dream wrote and produced that song originally and when Beyonce used the song on the album he produced that as well. They simply re titled the song. There's nothing wrong with that if you look at the music in the main stream industry and it's certainly nothing new.
