In traditional witchcraft the blasting rod is known as the stang but I forgot what it is used for in tradcraft practices but also another description of wands would be the Scandinavian/Norse witch called a völva meaning staff bearer and she has a giant staff for divination and sometimes shamanism (seiðr) in Icelandic but sometimes the völva's staff would have a forked end but not always. For me personally, the element the wand represents for me depends on the type of wood, willow- water, blackthorn- fire etc. I loved that the Blasting Rod got mentioned as well! In my tradition, which is very folk magic and Cunning based, we use the blasting rod for all workings of Owl Blinking (curses, hexes, jinxes, bindings, banishings etc.) And it's almost always made from Blackthorn 😁🤘🏻

I first became interested in occult one I saw what mighty things I can achieve with my mind. Not only deja-vu dreams that occurred in reality but also other kind of dreams with metaphors which I understood after I have awaken and it helped me allot on my voyage & struggles. I do have inclination toward occult knowledge because I have seen allot of paranormal things occurring in reality that math & physics can’t explain and I wasn’t the only one seeing it but others too. But while others where afraid and called priest & was actually interested and wanted to see it more often & explore it.
What I don't show in this video is the gigantic piece of driftwood that I carry around to every location. Most of the time it just sits on my altar, but I really love just love the RAW energy it gives. I'm a water baby as well so maybe this is why I love the driftwood in the raw state.
I wondered if there was a blind being that in the Tarot the wand is for the element of Fire and swords are Air. Personally I use two athame in my practice, one black and one white both have their own assignments as obviously my black athame is made of obsidian glass (Fire) and my white athame has a white horn handle with steel blade (Air). I don’t have a wand of wood but I use a Smokey Quartz point for now. I am looking for my first wand though.

I enjoy creating fiber craft; specifically knitting and crocheting. I'm very curious if there's wands that are custom made for crocheting and knitting, able to imbue the energies in the object your creating for a specific purpose? I like the idea of imbuing energies of protection and healing, if I do decide to make it into a practice. (I understand knitting uses 2 needles, but maybe 1 of them is the wand and the other is a simple needle, or could I use 2 wands??????)
I struggled with the concept of binding for the reasons you stated, while I never threaten or torture spirits, I am firm and authoritative and do bind them to a particular task, though with the utmost respect. My logic is that within the circle, the magus partakes of the essence of divinity/apotheosis or whatever your view is, and so can direct spirits. Some people also say that in dealing with chthonic entities, it's as though we're 'earthing' a current and so to bind spirits is no more or less ethical than a current subjecting a wire to itself in order to move through it. So the moral issues with binding etc come from us projecting our moral sensibilities onto spirits - which are ultimately just a means for us to understand realms beyond normal perception. But of course it depends on what one thinks the spirits actually are! Loved this video, had never considered that the blasting rod wasn't just another variation on the theme of the wand, makes much more sense thinking of it as a tool in its own right! Thank you!! Also my new Fire Wand consecrated itself with high-grade alcohol whilst watching this and I couldn't be happier! *The alcohol seems to have caused it to bend slightly more, even long after gathering it. Just an observation! (It's "just" a stick) But wow I feel it's power, and it previously named itself without hesitation and ingrained said name into my memory! Do your wands have names or name themselves? Two of mine have declared their names LOUDLY.

it depends. sometimes you are led to get the tools or construct them yourself in order to not get sloppy. One thing is you can access magick everywhere with anything (that is the purpose of a wannabe skilled magician) but on the other side magick is sacred and when being taken for granted and with little effort that could diminish your results.
In pure black magic it is not, but you need to be adept in pure black magic. So the answer to the question is it depends on which magical system is in question.

Wow! My wand for working with demon is an Ebony too 😁 and the reason is similar as yours .. the wood's color explain itself. Its black. But mine is quite unique .. that wand's color has ⅓ part of ebony black , and ⅔ of them aren't black. I pair this wand with a petrified wood crystal ball which has ⅔ of black color , and another ⅓ isnt black (light brown). I love this pair. This black-white (light brown) color also remind me with Saksaksalim , and what he told me .. Ebony had the most balance feminine-masculine energy, and the most balance of all five elements. I do agree with him , I feel that way to toward ebony too. Its like one of the most 'neutral' one (in my opinion) , but yeah it has black color And did well with black magick , working with demons. So in other word, Its in harmony with most demon energy. Some of woods cannot work in harmony with demon. For example , some of local wood here called 'nagasari' is good for white magick , fine with grey magick & spirit .. but not really in harmony with the darker magick. Another wood called 'bidara' can only be used in harmony with white magick & spirits ..

There are even several tarot decks that reverse the elemental association between wands and swords..... Just my two cents!.... 😊

It was created many years ago, by someone experimenting with their talents. I'll ask him if he is willing to make more. I still love my Astaroth wand
