yes to more crazy colourwork! I think mixed methods are going to boom too, where people embroider other work too.
This is me literally learning to embroider a few days ago and now wanting to do it on top of my pieces
@@crochetmezaddy yeeees it’s such a fun way to add details to your projects!! Go for it!!!
I totally repaired some severely torn and previously unwearable in public cargo shorts this past summer (US, lol) with crocheted star appliques and I embroidered stars over some smaller pinholes. I wore them to a craft fair I went to while on vacation in rural Wisconsin and got SO many compliments, and not just from the crochet makers there! I definitely want to do more repairs like that, and maybe some not-so-repairs. Also, it may be the year of the dragon for everyone else, but it's a dragon life for me! I've already made several, but I am so here for whatever patterns may come this year.
Ayyy, this makes me feel validated in my predictions :P
Rural Wisconsin represent! 🦡
YES I WANT DRAGON PATTERNS GIVE. IT. TO. ME. BABYYYYYYYYYY
I agree with you about seeing more intricate items, especially in amigurumi. I’ve made so many of the popular, quick-make items that I’m now bored and looking for something more detailed and full of color changes! Thanks for taking the time to research this!
No worries! And yes, I still want to see many of those quick make themes, but a creative spin on them! Much like Genna's bow turtle
It makes me so happy to see exactly this sentiment! I've been designing complex amigurumi for many years now and I'm so excited that people are starting to notice our designs again
That bow turtle is what I'm making as I watch these vids lol It's my first amigurumi project but it seems to be going okay.
Yes to the intricate designs!! I think doilies and other lace work will make a comeback totally! At least I hope so!
YESSSSS to fun yarns and intricate designs 👏👏👏 your ideas have actually made me change direction for my next video!!! 🤩😜
Zaddy, what a passionate, enthusiastic, and inspiring video!!! Your Top 10 Crochet Trends are right on target!!!
Thank you Premier
EXCELLENT video! Funny, each time you specially mentioned creator/designer and/or specific item, I was thinking of the EXACT SAME THING! Completely agree with you! Love it ☺️🫶🏻🧶
Hahaha I like think that I know the crochet community pretty extensively :p
DEFINITELY!!! 😊. PS: you gotta STOPPPP with all the cuties!!! I can’t keep up! 😉
Thanks sweetie. Love all the ideas. 🤗❤️
Glad I inspired in some way
Watching this makes me so excited for the 2024 creations! I think bows, dragons, and baggy clothing are going to for sure be big trends, along with the others listed. This year is going to be a good year for crochet, I can feel it :)
😂😂😂
Dragons wearing baggy clothes and bows is definitely the way to go :P
Here for the pigeon vest!
I watched this last night. I cannot unsee all the bows on everything!
They’re everywhere 😂
I made a crochet ring and necklace to wear to my first craft fair where I sold crochet earrings 😂
Thank you very interesting and well presented
I love your bear, I always take my crochet on holiday
take the bear on holiday ;)
Ive been looking for a video related to fiber arts fashion trend predictions, best video so far
I had plenty more but I didn't want to go overboard into fashion because I'm not hugely part of that world. One thing I really wanted to mention was apron style clothing as many people are creating these almost poncho like fits that tie up on the sides - and also the cable knit look. There's been a big rise in these, but they werent necessarily crochet so I didn't want to go too far into it
A suggestion ... I've been crocheting small blankets with hightly textured stitches for people with autism, dementure etc & am wondering what yarn you would suggest using for armigurumi patterns for people with these problems. Can you get larger ply cottons, etc (because they may chew on them) ? These may also be more suitable for babies.
Your bear is so precious!!
It’s one of my favourite patterns ❤
Definitely thinks that make people's work stand out - yarns and color work.
Yup exactly! I'm looking forward to seeing more!
A hundred times yes to more intricate designs! Don't get me wrong, I love the no-sew bees and Leggy frogs, but it's time to show our talent by making hard things instead of many things
I tend to try anything and everything, once I get used to it I get ideas maybe add this etc, clothing I’ve never tried making yet, ❤
Yesss! I'm much the same, I was super inspired making this video!
@@crochetmezaddy if ur inspired more u tend to enjoy doing it more too, I’m trying to create a a dolphin design but still learning 😊
I’m here for grandpacore!!!!!!
Grandpacore is here to stay babyyyy
I just love the way you say AMIGURUMI 😂❤❤ great video! Notes taken🙌
Hahaha, I have a minor in Japanese so i gotta say it right :P
@@crochetmezaddy oh that's cool, love that
I think you nailed it about more complex and detailed designs! I’m ready to explore fun new patterns!
More interesting intriguing patterns colors etc have always been there. Nothing new.
@@annt8327 you’re totally right! I was mostly referencing all the super simple market make patterns that came out this past year. But you make a very good point, thanks!!
@@annt8327I'm an old guard amigurumist and I completely agree! The simple chunky yarn stuff went viral during the lockdowns and kinda stuck around, but I feel like it's just about run its course. I see lots of comments from people hungry for something more challenging, and we complex amigurumi designers will be waiting to scoop those people up!
I get what you mean, but I guess this is what I mean that it's trending more than just exiting too haha@@annt8327
very interesting ⭐⭐⭐
thankyou wonderful 🏅🏅
You're most welcome Cheryl!
Emma’s pigeon 😊❤🎉
thank goodness i’m working on a mythical creature pattern now 👀
we need to see it NOW
Haha I see the bows everywhere, but I also see people hating on the bows everywhere, so maybe it will be a short lived trend. What do you think about woobles being so popular right now?
There's hate for the bows?? I think it's actually been trending for almost a year now but will probably be peaking around now and slightly fade out during the year. Are the wobbles popular right now? I think they're just a popular Christmas gift :P
@@crochetmezaddy You might be right about the woobles being a lot of Christmas gifts. Yeah I've seen some bow hate. I think especially in fashion with big bows. Maybe little bows are still fun.
This video has me excited for 2024 in the crochet world! Also, I don’t know if anyone else feels the same way and completely ignore me if this sounds silly, but sometimes the background music in your videos is competing with your voice for what I hear…meaning the music is a little too loud. I don’t have perfect ears though so it could just be a “me” problem. ☺️
Thank you - I got very inspired making this video too!
and noted! I've been trying to find the perfect balance and youtube does a weird thing when I upload videos and it will quieten my voice but not the backing track, so it'll improve in time as I work on future content
@@crochetmezaddy that makes total sense. Love it when you find a balance and then the platform decides to mess with it. 🙃🤣
Music is not needed. It was difficult to follow your words because the music distracts. I agree with your list and would love to see more intricate patterns/projects.
@@mariakristinahawl1640I think I just need to quieten it a tad more - I usually need music in videos otherwise I lose interest myself 😅
❤❤❤
YEASS COLORWORK
i need to finish a tapestry STAT
Please do eventually release a dragon buddy!
Maybe once everyone else has got there patterns out of the way :P
In America at least the south its a Fanny pack
But bumbag has such a nice ring to it
In 2024, Lunar New Year begins on February 10. You said Jan 22, but that is not correct. I do love all the different dragons! As far as the colorwork and amigurumi, more clothes on them! 😃
Omg you’re so right, to be honest I just googled it and I was fed the wrong information 😭😭
I am a unicorn lover ,
TESTER CALL
Screw that plushy crap. Stuffed anything is overrated n over populated. I want usefull unique advanced crochet. Like brioche crochet. Hardly any tutorials in english n the translator is still hard to understand. Like for example: what is a point and what is that stitch called when going on that last row traveling down the stairsteps? And yes you can 'not' use ss but its lots more defined if you do. And i need more patterns on this subject: not cowl/scarves. Like a theme for a blanket/throw or sweater n gloves. Or how about patterns from spain? There's one i saw that had interlock sc, hdc, dc, n tc in vest. Cant find that now either. Russia has really great/outstanding crochetors on the most fancy rugs i ever seen. Or surrounding area on crocheting flowers on wire for a vase or jewelery. Wire jewelery is another thing im interested in but dang hard to find teachers that know what thier doing to teach. There are old old patterns for crochet slipper boots so fancy victorian like even i cant even begin to understand to crochet them. Only ever i found two people that cover that 1800's n 1900's patterns: one does crochet while the other covers knitting. So im slowely getting the gist of the langeuage back then. And let me tell you, those ladies back then kept thier secrets just like those grandma's of today over thier secret kitchen recipees! 😂
It’s just him talking. Show the trends more not you.
HAHAHA, sorry that I’m commentating on the trends in a video that’s about commentating on trends
@@crochetmezaddy no problem, what were the trends, they got lost.
