You stated at the start that maple trees are the way to go with this achievement, and in a way you are correct. I am currently smashing my way through it and figured I'd share some things that I have come up with. Chopping maple trees will get you to the 1000 goal a lot faster than other trees, obviously because you get more logs for your chops. BUT, if you're willing to take a bit longer to get it done, you will get more extraction exp from chopping birch trees. Math time. All the numbers I am about to use are based on having 0 points in Extraction Knowledge.
You get 2 exp for chopping down the tree, regardless of what kind of a tree it is. You get 2-4 exp for clearing sticks, then another 2-4 for breaking the trunk into logs. Birch trees give 2, spruce give 3, and maple give 4. Birch trees therefore give 6 exp for the whole process, that's 3 exp per log. Maple trees give 10 exp for the whole process, that's 2.5 exp per log. So by doing birch trees instead of maple trees you end up with 500 more extraction exp than you would get otherwise.
If you're willing to take the time, I feel like the exp route is the way to go, especially since the area around the quest is so densely populated by birch trees.

Thank you for the stats on this. I do have a question, and this might be the though of the majority of players. How much time does the birch route add to the 1000 log process? From my experience listening to many other players, they don't want to do this achievement because of the "Time" involved.
The extraction skill is the second easiest skill in the game to max out. (According to the global achievement stats on steam). So, instead of comparing exp per log, it might be better to compare the exp to the additional time.
Don't get me wrong. I think your idea is good, but I could see others disagreeing with it because it adds more "time" to the process.
Thanks for the comment and making me think. 😃👍

@@HecticNasari It's definitely a time vs effort argument. I didn't time how long it took because I'm a gamer who takes a lot of small breaks. It still didn't take me super long to cut them all, I think I was at it for 3-4 hours total.

A: I like the video, B: in what universe to people build houses with Maple? Pine trees are straight....maple are everything that isn't straight....and while we are at it what happens to all the sticks you cut off the tree on the first chop after cutting the tree down?

      A: Thank you 😃👍
      B: Medieval Dynasty game universe
This probably should have been labeled "C", but the sticks are magically transported to your pocket when you chop up the tree. 🤔😁

@@HecticNasari I'd plan to stuff rags or grass in the gaps in the maple wall, to get me by until I upgraded to insulated stone houses.
Also, there's no "Ducking Stool". Surely, if your wife is a scold and you don't duck her in the pond, you'd lose Dynasty Reputation points.
And there are no gluten-free wheat strains, which might turn your wife into a scold if she's gluten-intolerant.

Any tips for the hedghog achievement?

    • @HecticNasari
      @HecticNasari  10 месяцев назад +1

Hedgehog: use wooden spears on a bear. I would make at least 10-12 spears and only aim for the body. I would say throw them quickly, because stuck spears can fall off animals and you need all four spears in the animal at once.
Otherwise you can change the game settings and raise the animal health (so you don't kill it too soon) and lower the animal damage (so it does not kill you to soon)., then do the spear toss at them.

    • @Obsidianoak

@HecticNasari thanks I'll try the settings switch. So far no more than 3 spears sticking at once on default Animal health

Old video and can't remember if plum wine existed back then, but it gives 150 strength and an iron axe fells trees in one hit. Use a stone axe (as suggested) to chop them up, but because it's only one hit to fell them instead 2 or 3, might as well chop every tree, even birch, instead of avoiding birch and spruce.
If you use a stone axe for chopping up the birch and spruce it isn't such a loss for the 2-3 logs vs. 4.
