  • The Tundra has been that go to for truck buyers who want a reliable full size truck. Under the hood is a 5.7L V8 381HP & mated to a 6-speed automatic. On the outside the 2021 Platinum brings a unique grill, bumpers, wheels, and running boards. On the inside you will find the familiar Tundra cabin with some recently updated tech. Good review Joe. I’ve got a 2019 TRD Pro and will never sell it. I will take reliability and capability over technology and MPGs. I realize I am in the minority but I can buy a lot of gas with the money I will not be spending replacing an Engine or Transmission. Well it looks just like my 2014 Tundra Limited TRD, still NO storage space under the back seats, and the back seat still doesn't flip down, (so much wasted space behind that seat.)
    Other then that i love my Tundra
    Please for 2022, real truck guys need space to store stuff!!!

    I have a 2014 Toyota Tundra crewmax platinum edition... its unfortunate to not see any or very very little changes to basically everything in the “”new” 2021 Toyota Tundra. I’m waiting for the innovation and significant changes to a newly designed Toyota Tundra crewmax ... more so with the interior before I make a purchase on a vehicle.

    Great review! I'm about to pull the trigger on a '21 tundra nightshade edition. Not because I'm skeptical of the coming redesign, I'm actually very much looking forward to it. That said, I want my next truck to be my last truck and the current tundra is all but guaranteed to last for as long as I want to drive it. It's missing some tech and refinement, but it's rock solid where it matters most and it's less expensive than most of the competition at about $50k before any sort of discount, which may not even be possible get a discount in the current market.
    So should I drop $50k on a '21 limited nightshade or wait for the new one?

    I don't understand how and why these trucks aren't selling this along with the Nissan. I mean they have been the most reliable trucks out there for years if not even decades now. It seems like everybody out there wants a Ford and I don't blame them i mean they are really super nice trucks and their reliability has been impeccable over the years, but still if I was in the market for a truck I would definitely get a Tundra or maybe even a Titan.

    • @Ryan2022
      @Ryan2022 3 года назад +1

      I agree with you. It’s a really solid truck with a really solid motor and the price tag for the top trim is very reasonable compared to the Ford and the Dodge. I’m not saying it’s the best truck or the most up-to-date truck and clearly it does need to be updated but I can never understand why it doesn’t sell better than it does. It’s also from what I understand assembled in Texas and last time I checked they don’t import Japanese workers to make their trucks in Texas

    "While Americans can’t seem to get enough of the mid-size pickups from Japanese automakers, they absolutely shun their full-size trucks. According to data from WardsIntelligence, the highest market share Toyota has seen with Tundra was 9.1% and that was in 2007. It currently hovers in the 5% range. It’s even worse for Nissan. The best the Titan was able to muster was 3.5% of the market in 2005. Today it’s at 1.5%. With the Detroit Three commanding 94% of full-size pickup sales this year, it might almost make more sense for Toyota and Nissan to share a large truck platform." Autoline
