Great Run through, I did not look at it when I saw it in the Online store, but now I will order it, Deck building and Rondel, two of my favorite mechanic
"Good things happen with time passing, bad things happen with time passing" - profoundest truth ever.
Steam Punk is some of my favorite form of fiction! The game looks interesting. Workers and resources being temporary is an interesting game mechanic.
At time stamp 40:38 Chrome machine is mis-interpreted and later at the end mis-used. That particular machine is only activated when building a Chrome machine not any machine.
note added... thanks
Thanks for the preview!
Really good mechanics, sadly artwork is not in the same level.
This looks insanely clever. Is this one going over people’s head or why is no one else talking about this game? It also has a lower than expected BGG score currently. Hu!?
well, it's not widely available i think yet. also, i'm going to do an updated final thoughts this week to address one "misconception" i think some folks have about the game :)
Thank you.
There are a few very low ratings due to one of the following reasons:
- game starts slowly. -> Is going to be fixed by a variant with starting machines
- you keep on loosing parts of your built engine throughout the game. -> Will not be fixed as this is the theme of the game. If you expect a classical engine building game where you keep everything till the end of the game, you will be disappointed.
- only female engineers. -> Will not be "fixed".
Great video!
It's not a new idea, but I love the idea of the chrome machines having points added when in column c and they haven't been selected, as a way of making them more enticing. Is there a name for this mechanic or anyway to find games with this in them?
i don't think i've heard a name for it, but if you ask the same question at this forum: www.boardgamegeek.com/forum/8/bgg/recommendations you're sure to get a bunch of great suggestions :)
"Increase Value of Unchosen Resources" is a mechanic you can search by on BGG.
Around 34:39, you discard the worker that generates 2 steam. Can you discard these workers? I thought it was only a hired/drafted worker that you could discard.
this is indeed a mistake, you have to discard qualified engineers to build that one-shot machine
