    Am a coffee agronomist and that should not be done at that height its too high that will affect the tree stability and will not hold more yeild when the time comes .it will lean side ways or fall completely.
    Should be about five leaves from bottom or about 15_ 20 cm.

    Yes that's what I did, and got many branches, but it seems to have delayed the fruiting but it will be a gain when it fruits.

    In that scenario it will grow like a forest (uncontrolled growth) created a humid environment in it which attracts desieses and pest.

    How comes youre not cutting the suckers especially since they are not from the grafted top of the plant?

      Hello John. By the time the apple grows to that size, it is from the grafted top. There’s also regular checking of the apples at the farm to make sure there’s no growth below the grafted part of the apple tree.

      @katsjose4047 Roughly about a year or a year and a half. For fruiting, it’s 9 months
