Joe was the drummer for (former Beatle) Paul McCartney & his Wings Band from 1975-1977. Joe wasn't even sure if God existed. A short time after he took time off from his stint with Wings, his wife had a terrible car accident. Doctors said she'd need a walker to help her get around for the rest of her life. Meanwhile, some women invited Joe's wife to go to Bible study & prayer meeting with them. After several weeks, the women prayed over Joe's wife, and Jesus healed her instantly. She went home, on a day when Joe was stoned out of his mind. The first thing she did when entered the door, was she threw the walker across the house, showing Joe that Jesus healed her, and she wouldn't need the walker any more. Even though he was stoned, Joe's heart was convicted that Jesus was real, and that he needed a Savior. Joe gave his heart to Jesus. He and his band become one of the most sincere, most Christ-like bands you'll ever meet. They were very serious about winning souls to Jesus and serving Him.

This album is so significant to me. During a very rough time in my life this brought me through with the Word, Love this brother in Christ. In concert he was outstanding.

Excellent musician loved his conversion story and he literally encouraged me a great deal when I first became a Christian. Looking forward to seeing him in glory. There will be no judgement day for us

    TO LOVE IS TO LIVE
Joe English, from Lights in the World
Written by John Rosasco and Don Rogers
    I have shown you there’s
Just but one way to go
    Now in faith you must
Make to work what you know
Looking for the life in your eyes
Waiting for the moment you realize
Oh to love is to live
    Living is forget and forgive
    Don’t you know
    To love is to live?
    Don’t you know?
    Time turns quickly and
    Things will soon slip away
    Bring the Savior in
    While today’s still today
Listen to the words you’ve been told
Love will put an end to the world
    And its gold
Oh to love is to live
What you get is just what you give
    Don’t you know
    To love is to live?
    Don’t you know?
Oh to love is to live
    Living is forget and forgive
    Don’t you know
    To love is to live?
    Don’t you know
    To love is to live?
    Don’t you know?

Real 80s CCM has a LOT of the music from that era. It’s a superb channel.

For anyone wondering what happened to Joe, he's stuck in a cult in North Carolina called the Word of Faith Fellowship; I went there I knew him for years and lived next to him. He's given up music entirely and will only sing songs inside the cult that are okay with the cult. He doesn't even listen to the radio any more.

According to multiple reports, Joe English no longer attends that church. He recently left Word Of Faith Fellowship in North Carolina.

Exactly. What a shame. I knew Joe in the early'80's and he was always kind to me and never high around me. He was apparently still doing heroin during this time, and around 1990 his family and friends did an intervention and helped him clean up, but that was the end of his music career. This cult stuff is bad news. There are many great artists that have quit music "for Jesus" or the cult. I always wish Joe had come out to LA and done sessions and done some touring with some other rock acts. Very few guys could sing and play like him. He sounded great in Sea Level, but the material sucked in that band. Just like Chuck Leavell went on to the Stones, Joe could have done far better than the shitty CCM market. He's a great guy and I wish him all the best.

"They just don't write music like this anymore as they did back in the day"! "Today's music is too polluted with so much garbage"!
